So the whole experience of getting the bikes transported was smooth I infer?
the detailed trip log will be up in a day or two, meanwhile am posting a few bits and pieces of the log upto manali cos it was not very eventful. The bikes were transported from Tirupur to Delhi and were safely delovered to us in Delhi without any delays and troubles.

Our ETA to Mandi was 4 pm and now it was already 7:30 by the time others joined us at Mandi.

            RULE 1:
When riding in a group and deciding to split up and meet at certain point, please do not re track your route cos there can be a lot of confusions and wastage of time and energy. If at all in any case such things happen then others please stay put at decided place while only one rider goes back in search of the others. This way that lone rider can easily reach back and sooner avoiding a lot of pressure and risk in heavy traffic and up hill riding conditions.

Riding from Mandi To Manali in the dark was a tough job coz most of the roads from there were broken and we were unable to cover enough time. Still riding through the dark and the mountains and with the BEAS River flowing all along the route with a thunderous noise we finally made it to Kullu where Kartik Tanna was waiting for us, having our dinner at 11:30pm in Kullu we headed out to Manali which was approx 22kms from there and entered Manali at 12:15 pm finally. Phew what a day .

Awesome !! love the title (is it Maiden inspired?)

the fz seems to be running on stock tyre. curious to know how that fared? outside the tarmac its not known much for its capabilities.

the FZ was not taken, it was left in Delhi as a friend cancelled at the last minute. There were other riders from Delhi using FZ but it had a lot of trouble with stock tyres.

Manali is a small bustling town with lots of greenery and surrounded by beautiful snow capped mountains. Renting our a two bedroom guest house cottage was easy and even the tariff is reasonable. There are many hotels and guesthouses in Manali and one can find space as per his budget. Dumpling our luggage and heading straight to bed was the only thing I remember that night.

After a peaceful sleep and a late breakfast, decided to explore the town and finish a few last minute shopping. There is a market where one finds all the essentials. Jerry cans, flash light, plastic covers for the luggage etc all bought and dumped, I decided to indulge in some adventure sports which is quite famous in Manali.

After basic inquiry, headed out to SOLANG Valley which is 12 kms from the main town. the place is mostly crowded with tourists and many attractions like Para-gliding, Mountain Biking etc are the reason. Had always wanted to fly like an EAGLE but was shit scared but now after seeing so many people do it, gathered some courage and headed out for Para-gliding. Charges are RS 2500 per person. the experience was once in a life-time and now after doing it once, I strongly recommend to try it out when ever u get a chance.

After gliding and safely landing.. phew, wanted to try the next sport which is down hill ball. Did that too and enjoyed it to the fullest and got back to the room to sleep early coz the next day was going to be the start of the main journey.

A day well spent in Manali. Few pics from the day.

Awesome...para-gliding is something I have been looking forward to do! I can only imagine the awesomeness of flying over Manali looking at your pics

Btw, did you make your hotel reservations before you went or was it done after you reached there?

How was the cellphone reception on the whole trip?

Have a ton of questions to ask..but waiting for the rest of the trip log as many answers will be there
