Btw I have a question. Why you have chosen Udaipur as the destination when you had visited the same place a month back?I guess good roads is one of the reason.

Good roads, familiar hotels and staff who know me, less traffic on the way back, and the choice of two roads on the way back, fast straights and the Aravalis!Originally posted by MG_Biker1806 View PostLoved it.

And I like Udaipur. It is a city that is not very dirty, it has got water bodies, nice promenades... it is pleasant being there. The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

Ken, that was some really interesting write up there. I loved those saddle bags. With those on you probably scared the villagers all the more - looks like a futuristic machine from Mars.
The comforting part of your ride is that, you have so much more juice left on your bike - to excite you enough when your bored , to catch up by cruising at 150+ when your running late, and to have some fun on the road. Some of the few things that we tourer's on desi made machines miss out. Yeah cruising at 90kmph can be fun, and hitting 130kmph maybe more, but when your doing 500kms+, 90 or 130, you still know your going to cover only about a 100kms in the next one hour and thats if everybody pulled over from the highway. Nevertheless, i'll still keep touring till I find myself a good 600 and then continue touring again. Takes off the steam collected during the weekdays, brings the "Vivaldi" singing in your heart. People in my office find it ridiculous riding bikes for such distances, they prefer cars. They say "we grew out of bikes", and I say they weren't born for it. They dont realize what their missing out on, i wish they knew how it feels like to be touring on bikes. Thanks Ken for this brilliant write up.Last edited by silver_falcon_46; 12-20-2008, 03:02 PM.sigpic

Absolutely, though I am more baroque than romantic, I do not have Vivaldi but Monteverdi... but yes, I do understand and agree with what you say.Originally posted by silver_falcon_46 View PostTakes off the steam collected during the weekdays, brings the "Vivaldi" singing in your heart.
People who "grew out of bikes" were Never "there" in the first place. They would not be having too much fun in their cars either, believe me. For them, what matters is just the destination and not the journey. For us, the journey itself is invigorating.Originally posted by silver_falcon_46 View PostPeople in my office find it ridiculous riding bikes for such distances, they prefer cars. They say "we grew out of bikes", and I say they weren't born for it. As long as it brings music to your heart. Looking forward to the sequel. Hope there's a part V coming soon. Was nice to read Akhil also took his bike for a spin for the last week. You guys maybe held responsible for Yamaha slotting the R1 in the 'super sport touring' category.

Actually there are lots of parts. Just that I have reduced creating threads and stopped posting about tours that I have been doing.
Yes, I did check Rossiter's thread. Replied there too. Enjoying reading his adventurous ways with the R1.The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

Oh Please don't stop posting about about your tours. You don't realize Ken, but people like you actually make our day. Seeing one of these threads brings joy. I personally wouldn't want to miss out on your adventures. Do keep it coming. I guess the server crash has created some kind of hollowness, but I Think we need to jot down every one of them.Originally posted by ken cool View Post

P.S: TO think of it, I haven't logged a few trips too, although they are nothing close to the kind of trips you doLast edited by silver_falcon_46; 12-31-2008, 11:39 AM.sigpic
