Nice log there brother and wonderful pics as usual! The Auli was good for breaking the routine we got used to in Joshimath. We spent there few hours and I was amazed by the beauty of nature.
I was still having that cramped knee so that altered my downhill movement. However, I was still able to enjoy the beauty all the way upwards in Auli.
And yes the landslide and rains. Weather sucked big time!

First apologies for not being able to finish the log in time and taking so long to post the last part of our trip.
Day7: Finally we left from Joshimath
After a long conversation with the BRO people previous evening we were sure that the roads gonna open next day morning. Hence today we decided to be up early, to avoid the traffic (we never knew that there is going to be NO traffic at all till Karanprayag.
My alarm was set for 0530hrs, and as it soon it went ON I was shaken by MJ to get up… first surprise of the day…what the hell is MJ doing awake so early??? Past 6 days it was me who used to kick him and shake him up to get up. But today the scene was different, he was wrapped up in his quilt and sitting, thinking something. I was sure something is wrong (but thankfully all was ok). He called up Rakesh and woke him up too. I took a quick bath and was all ready by 7 with my bike loaded and all ready too. MJ was getting his bike ready. We all had a cup of tea and left. With everybody wishing us good luck and some guest staring at us with shock that why are we leaving so early, without the confirmed news of the roads being open. Finally at 0730hrs we left from GMVN, Joshimath. There was a strong sense and prayers that we should not come back today, and try to move towards Delhi as much as we can.
In next 30mins we reached the Landslide area, I went and spoke to the BRO people, they said the mountain again came down previous night and we were like what the hell. But he assured that in 4 to 5 hrs this would open, as today was the 4th day and there were many people stuck in there. Now after few discussions among us, we decided to move back around2kms where we saw a dhaba and sit there only, and at least have our breakfast. Mind you even today it was drizzling since the time we left GMVN, Joshimath. We reached that dhaba, it was next to a nullah, the water was crystal clear and in the morning we 4 were the only one who were there. We had tea and yummy parathas out there, filled our tummy to the brim. And we were just sitting and enjoying the weather and the surrounding. Soon the dhaba became crowded with people who were stopped there by the BRO officials. The Local Police came into action and was stopping every vehicle to move ahead.

Now the rain had started pouring a bit more than a mere drizzles, and at the dhaba we decided to move our bikes ahead and park it after crossing the nullah in case another landslide happens out here. The BRO people knew us since last 3 days hence they didn’t stop us. We came to dhaba sat there, and another round of tea came in. I decided to move ahead and be at the landslide spot just to see how was it going, as we had to move out of this place today anyhow. Now with few blast and finally the bulldozer working I was told that the road will open in another hour or so, and I could see that the work progress from the bottom of the hill was also getting done quickly. Hence I called up Rakesh and told them to come over. As soon as the rocks were removed from the road, with permission of the BRO official present out there, we moved ahead of Joshimath at 1430hrs (i.e.2:30pm).
The first landslide was where we were warned that the slush is knee deep and hence will get stuck. With a few discussions he agreed to place one BRO personnel to be standing in between and help us in case we got stuck. And that’s exactly what happened. I got stuck in between and my bike wasn’t able to move ahead, yes that was a knee deep slush. Thanks to the BRO people and specially to the person who was standing over there, he lifted my bike a bit from behind and that’s it I got out of there, and then MJ got stuck and he was also helped by the same person. Rakesh seeing the line of path we were taking has a ditch he took a different line, so he got saved. But with the very next Landslide after a hair pin bent, we were stopped as the rocks were still falling, after sometime we moved out of there. At the last landslide area, we got delayed by a minute or two when a rock came rolling down. Now with few other riders we cleared the path for our bikes and moved ahead. We started moving ahead, with no traffic and no incoming vehicles except few bikes, we were doing good pace. Now the only objective we had in our mind was to reach Haridwar before midnight, and then we will plan up. Crossing several nullahs and landslide, and some treacherous road in those areas we reached Haridwar at 000hrs (i.e. 12am). From here MJ and me was to ride together back to Delhi. Whereas Rakesh stayed over at Haridwar.
An amazing ride where the rain God was there always also while coming back to Delhi,a good ride with my friends and a memorable one. Thanks to all whom like this log. Now enjoy the pics.

Now waiting to explore more of Uttaranchal

Thanks Shiv for finishing the log.. My apologies for not being attentive to it for long. I'm sure people would understand.
Now, as we have already mentioned about the kind of roads, conditions and weathers we came across; it now feels like that was an unforgettable experience.
We moved from the landslide area. I followed Shivanshu and got stuck in the knee deep slush at the very first slide. It was for few minutes and those were full of frustration, clutch burning and difficulty.
Well, we crossed second one without any major issue. We halted at third one. Roads were drastically wide enough for one bike/scooter to pass at a time, and that too was blocked by boulders.
Two Sardars came to the rescue. Me, Shiv and one sardar; we cleared the boulders and rocks from the road, made way for us and zoom ahead. Ana narrowly escaped hitting by a falling stone here.
Few kilometeres passed, another landslide. People all around the place, stopping the passer by. One has to look, wait and move. Here, Seema just got herself saved while passing through.
All in all, we came across all kinds of landslides. It was beginning to dark and I was afraid because my bike's HID were not adjusted as it should be so it was hard for me to make it over the night. However, somehow I was managed to keep up with the Ana and Shiv.
With Shiv at the front, Ana in the middle and me at the tail; I was the one who was enjoying the view most of all. Three bikes, zooming on hills at 60/70 Km/Hr and all you can see from far is a ray of light dancing like a snake in the mountains. Amazing view!!
We crossed some of the worst streams around Hrishkesh and a place before that (Sorry, as I don't remember the name now).
We reached Haridwar. Bid goodbye and Judai ke geet to Ana & Seema. We headed towards Delhi. On the way, we came across typical UP roadways buses. Drivers needs high beams every time in night, no matter whatever happens to my eyes.
Well, we were riding for almost close to 17 hours and fatigue, sleep and tiredness were now proving dominating on us. We took a halt near Meerut. Shiv took a power nap for 15 minutes. I thought so but then I considered that it will never be a power nap for me..As I'm next to dead when I'm asleep
Thereafter, we managed 90-120Km/Hr on the sucked up Meerut highways and managed to reach Delhi by close to 9:00 AM. I was at home by 10:00 or so.
So guys!! Wonderful trip after all. Thanks a tonne to god for no mishaps during the journey and no more Pony ride
