Its incredible brother, totaly spell bounded.... I would say you have raised the bar of biking to a level where it has never reached, I am sure your CBR was one of the first to go to Leh. Keep it up my best wishes are always with you

The true impact of an act becomes apparent only on its completion. Even though I'd known about your plans for this ride for quite sometime, its successful completion carries a punch as potent as it would have carried had it been a surprise. Great job there and all the more as you've returned without injury or damage either to yourself or your steed. Congrats!
A ride like this not just needs deeply embedded riding skills and road-craft but also a very strong sense of self-assessment. You apparently have all three in ample doses. Had it not been so, such a ride is naturally very heavily biased towards injury or worse and a mishap would have been inevitable.
A word of caution: Having known Vaibhav as a rider for quite a while now, those inspired towards repeating such rides must please keep in mind that there's a huge preamble of grueling rides over the past few years before something like this was attempted by him. And there is no short cut to it. The simplicity of his narrative does not reveal the immense amount of definitive planning involved and the confidence garnered over thousands of punishing miles on the road. As Rossiter says, this is a real example of mind over matter. So please don't rush into something similar and end up blaming the bike, the traffic, the roads or the weather for hurting you when in fact it was your own ineptitude towards the attempt.

One hell of a ride it is Vaibhav... Congratulations on successful completion.
And it is good to see few captures at regular intervals.

Thanks!Originally posted by Varun.Lamba View PostAn awesome, amazing, thrilling yet dangerous experience !!! U made it look so simple here.. haha.. seriously admire your passion and level of concentration buddy... !! Wish u plenty of safe yet exciting rides ahead !! cheers!
Ah! The big man himself! Thank you for the words of wisdom sir. I agree with the cautionary message you have given. For a ride like this, you need to introspect, look deep within and assess, whether you are prepared to endure a journey like this, or do you still need more time.Originally posted by Old Fox View PostThe true impact of an act becomes apparent only on its completion. No, when you ride beyond the normal endurance levels of your body, that's when you hallucinate. AMS has nothing to do with it.Originally posted by rockyrakesh5 View PostJus curious isn't Hallucination a part of AMS

Wonderful Pictures Kurt. In a way, its a good thing that you sold your SLR. I dont think any one else would even think of riding a saddlesore to Leh!
