great trip sir. many women cry out pain after a small distance drive in a luxury car. its good to see mam smiling with all the luggage weight on back.. mam's enthusiasm is surely beyond one's imagination.. helmets off to both of you.. truely inspirational for us young folks..
A crash on d road may kill d biker n d bike, but d relationship btwn d bike n d biker never dies.

Its only next to d relationship btwn d mother n her baby.

PS: How was the comfort of the Fiero vs the RX? For both rider and pillion?
Thanks a lot Praful. You have always been a great supporter of every ride we make. Yes, it was a lovely ride and well, the Fiero was way ahead on the comfort level for both of us ! The RX was and is a special kind of fun, but i guess we have to make choices now!

The Return Ride (Part 1) The East Coast Road and The French Connection

                    The Route: Velankani/Nagapattanam/Karaikal/Sirkazhi/Chidambaram/Cuddalore/Puducherry

We had finished the pilgrimage and planned to leave Velankani on Sunday morning. As usual we were up early. It can get quite hot and humid during the day at the coast and we wanted to make the best of the cool morning. Headed towards Nagapattanam and on to the ECR. Stopped for a moment near the memorial for Tsunami Victims- a tragedy remembered. Refueled at Karaikal which comes under Puducherry district, (fuel cost-Rs 64.92 per liter !). As the day advanced, it got really humid and we had to take off our jackets to keep relatively cool.

The ECR is a lovely route. Past lush green fields and some quaint villages. We stop for breakfast at Cuddalore.

We stop now and then to refresh on cooling tender coconuts, the safest drink to have on tour.

We reach Puducherry by around 10.a.m and pick up a map from the Tourism Department and later check into a hotel for a shower and change of clothes. We take a ride around the city and it being a Sunday and Gandhi Jayanthi the streets are quite crowded with holiday makers. The only downside was it was a dry day and even a chilled beer was out of the question so lemonade was the quenching factor!

We hung around the beach in the evening for a while which was a little too crowded for comfort and headed to a restaurant for dinner. Planned to visit Auroville and some other places the next day- but Mother Nature had other plans !

                    Ride Back Home Next !

                    CHEERS AGAIN !
