  • Double Anniversary!

Xbhp just celebrated the anniversary of the magazine with a special issue. Simultaneously I passed another small milestone (bikers see milestones even in their sleep) – a rather low key but special one for me. I celebrated one year as a member on the forum.
What’s it been like the past one year? Has anything changed for me? Have I changed in any way? Just reflecting on the year gone by.

First of all, joining the forum rekindled my passion for biking which I thought was slowly dying, with age catching up and subtle warnings from other seniors. How? You may ask, well, before xbhp it was just making the rides and later saving the pictures in a dog eared album which ultimately ended up at the rear end of a cupboard.

It was after our ‘Scooter Ride To Coorg’ last year that I joined the forum and remember hesitatingly posting a thread not sure what the response would be. Struggling to upload the few pictures I had. Once the thread came up and the responses came in I started looking at touring differently. Subsequently we did – ‘Bangalore/Kerala’, ‘Bangalore/Goa’ and ‘Bangalore/Velankanni’. Now I could write all about it and share the pictures with the others on the forum. I got to read about their rides and share their adventures and applaud their daring and often bone jarring sojourns. I now get to discuss my rides before I make them to discuss routes and road conditions with guys who have “been there and done that”.

But most of all it’s the friends I have made here. A great bunch of truly passionate bikers, daring, adventurous and skillful, doing rides that often takes our breath away, but always respectful, affectionate and never short of compliments and good words. It encourages me (us, actually) to look forward to our rides with a lot more passion and makes the rides so much more enjoyable. A true “brotherhood of bikers” if ever there was one!

“A Happy Anniversary to the xbhp magazine & A Happy Anniversary to Me”

    A celebration is called for!

    Cheers Guys! Ride Safe!

Ridermax- Greetings on the milestone and best wishes to you & your wife for many more enjoyable rides......

Surely for a biker the term 'getting old' is an unpardonable excuse for stopping to ride. I would like to share a link my wife just sent me, which is very inspiring:

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Thanks Haroon ! Always good to hear from you. Yes, a small milestone but a special one for me. You are so right about the 'getting old' factor. Age, after all is just a number, it's the passion that matters.
