    Wonderful Harish. Nice to hear that you and KB enjoyed the trip. Hope she was fed with 2T and helped you without any issues all the way. Considering the age of the bike, I see that KB did a good job of taking you all the way there and returned safely. Wish many miles to come from your KB!

      Nice ride on a KB Harish... But one advice from the rear view (being a engineer myself ..LOL) the Tyre has worn out a lot when you go for long trips like this you should be cautious in the tyres that to in hills... I am saying this because I had a similar experience when I rode to Ooty via Kothagiri the tyre was in the same condition as yours and new tube in it to my surprise it got punctured midway between ooty and kothagiri I was stranded seeing just forest on either side nothing other than that to my luck got a pick up van, loaded my Yamaha RX came to ooty and saw the tube mouth was gone... Got a new tube and started my journey.. So always keep a eye on Tyre condition

        Thanks bro. Nice observation. You are right. It is from AT Boxer. A gas cylinder tricycle guy smashed it last year else it would have been the original. This one is an oversize actually.

        @taher70
        Thanks bro.

        Thank you sirji. Also thanks for the instructions. KB consumes very less oil compared to other 2 strokers. Plus I've adjusted the oil pump accordingly. But I learnt that premixing 1% to the fuel tank helps in mileage and keeps the engine constantly fed with oil even at very high rpms where KB doesn't supply enough oil. Thanks to psr sir for telling me about this. In fact I could see oil from the side panel indicator even after the trip was over. Good for me.

        @Dinesh.P
        Thanks bro. And also thanks for pointing out the rear tyre thingy. In fact recently one of my friend who is a proper auto freak told me the same. Will do it asap.

            Nostalgia

            Dear Harish,

            Your KB fotos brought back a veritable flood of lovely memories of the trips my wife and I had done on our KB (KB - 100 RTZ,, MH12 N 1909, if I am right) back in '95 and '96. Kapurthala to Kullu/Manali, Pune to Goa, Bangalore to Mysore etc. She was the same burgundy colour and I really loved her. In Kapurthala where I was posted then, every Sunday used to be the standard drill - me going over the bike with a fine toothed comb while the wife relaxing on a chair and chatting with me and with herself! (no cell fones then). Then, in the evening, we used to go to the market for some ice cream.

            The KB did not falter even ONCE, not once. Very stable at speeds and agile on the twisties. Even then, I used to to be desperate for a nice 250 cc 4 stroke engine for it - nice long wheel base and that engine would have made it a fab tourer.

            I am happy to see that you have maintained it well. She will serve you faithfully for years ahead.

              Harish, Seriously hats off, helmets off & what ever that can be off as a matter of respect for what you've done with a bike of that age doing off-roading, climbing hills & so..on... Truly inspiring man & very happy to see her taken you back home safe. Will be glued to this thread for more from your side about the bike. Till then, Take care & ride safe.

                Happy that I pulled out some nice memories of your KB sire. You are right about the stability and twisties. The bike is real fun. I too sometimes wish for a larger engine and n number of times I've searched for a fifth gear!! She's simply too forgiving and I felt I need to reciprocate. Thus the maintenance. But still have a few minor issues to be solved. Thanks for the comment sire.

                He he...thanks bro. You are flattering me. Seriously I'm no giant. Just a beginner in terms of touring. I trust my bike and understand what she needs. I give her and she reciprocates. In fact the bike was serving my uncle who lives in your place for more than ten years. He passed on the bike to me during my 11th. In love ever since then. Rare and awesome bike. Thus trying to preserve her in the near future. Hope my parents will understand.

                And the one liner credits to Kawasaki!!! You can see it in the pamphlets of the first KBs which came out in the 80's. Definitely true to the word!!

                          Yes sire. I know and have realised the same. Have shown dad the range of products. He's agreed but only after exams. And its not only time I invest on riding gears but also on a new ride. I wish to preserve KB.

                          I've always wanted to go on touring with a RX. The sound of both of the machines together will be spectacular.

                              Nice one mate. Oh boy, I've always loved the sound that that DELTA TUNED MILL makes. Such an awesome bike it was, and I still remember when I was in school, my Social Science teacher, his wife, his son and his daughter all come to school, dropping their daughter in the nearby school and they both work here in my school and their son my class mate. I can hear the rumble of the engine, even when I don't know that two stroke was, that he's coming. He used to keep the bike so so so kick ass, at that time.

                              Oh boy, that sound, when he enters school, the boom echo, PRICELESS! Darn, it makes me go back to time!! KB will always be a KB.

                              And kudos for keeping it all stock.

                              Cheers!

                              Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                              The girl said, 'NO!'

                              And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
