Kool log there NV bhai...

OK...here's my side of the trip log. Please pardon me for the amateur attempt at writing one of these.

So....its 5am and my alarm goes off scaring the s**t outta me(was all alone at home for a few days). After coming to my senses i remember that I'm going for a ride today.

Get up,take a bath and get ready. Then msgd niranjan and inder to check if the buggers are awake or still dreaming away.NV calls up immediately to say that he's up but will be late as he has to fill up his bike's fuel tank. After deciding to meet up latest by 6:45am at chandni chowk ccd v end the conversation.

After kitting up and securing a number of locks on the main door(ergo...nobody home.hope no1 breaks in) i get on my steed to head out on the road at 6am. I meet up with kashif and then we make our way to the highway. We cruised at 70-75 on NH-4 to reach chandni chowk in about 20 min hoping that everyone is on their way.

Reached chandni chowk at abt 6:25am and i find only sneh waiting for us. He's like"abe salo baki ke log kaha hai??". After updating him on NV's plan we go and have some nice hot chai. While doing his we get a nice surprise. A guy on a 2006 R1 arrives there. We're dumb struck by the sizzling hot bike in front of us.

After waiting for another half an hour NV shows up by which time the number of SBKs has grown to 7 including the aforementioned R1 joined by a R6,CBR600RR,Gixxer600,Ducati Monster,Hayabusa and a Comet. These were the COPS(Club Of Pune Superbikers).

Inder shows up...taking his own sweet time and v'r on or way to mahabaleshwar. We start cruising on NH4 at abt 75-80 with NV in the lead. Traffic was holding up the rest of the pack so we took a halt after the tunnel after katraj. Regrouped and started riding with inder in the lead this time(as he was not able to keep up it seems hehe). As everyone was hungry we stopped at a place called Shirwal for having breakfast. This place serves some lovely Misal so after filling up our tummies we started riding again. The best thing about this ride was that everyone was riding with proper discipline in a staggered formation. And hence there were no incidents on this ride.

After a bit of monotonous highway riding we reached the kambatki ghat and as usual i went crazy looking at the curves.Downshifted,checked my mirror and pulled away from the group. I started going up the ghat at a nice clip wen i found niranjan bearing down my neck trying to catch me. We had a nice duel there when there was no traffic to overtake and finally at one corner NV got the inside line and overtook me.

After the small pit stop i asked Sneh if i can ride his bike(R15) for some time. He obliged and we were off again at a more sane speed. At Wai we were stopped by a couple of cops who asked for our license and PUC. They were very polite(surprisingly)!!

After riding for about another half hour or so we reached mahabaleshwar.Man...the weather was just amazing!!! Again we stopped for some pics(and Smokes).

Our destination was Tapola, so after asking around how to get there we were on our way again. Tapola is about 27kms from mahabaleshwar and is situated between a nice valley with a lake where u can go for boating and stuff. The roads were nice till abt half way but soon they deteriorated bringing down our speed to abt 30-40kmph. We finally reached Tapola at around 12:15pm. As soon as we parked our bikes, we were litraly mobbed by a bunch of kids who were awe struck by the R15. Hoping that our bikes will remain safe we parked and went into a small hotel to have lunch.

We stuffed ourselves with some nice alu parathas and dal and sat there for like an hour and a half just chatting and taking in the scenery. Finally it was getting too hot in the afternoon, so we kitted up nd started riding back to mahabaleshwar. We reached back to mahabaleshwar at around 2:15 (not sure) and stopped at a place called Bagicha. Now anyone who plans to go to mahabaleshwar the next time, i highly recommend stopping at this place. The strawberry with cream is absolutely fantastic here. We hogged on dis for some time and also took in the nice scenery(the female kind). By the time we were done with this it was almost 3:15pm. After paying up we got ready and started back towards Pune. While coming down the ghat we met a couple of riders hell bent on showing us guys on much more powerful bikes, with full riding gear, how stupid and pea brained they can get! One of them was riding a P180, with a pillion not to mention! As soon as i started cornering at high speed he started racing with me. I confess that i was pissed when he was able to pass me but the maneuver that he pulled was so f**king dangerous, that i had no other option but to give him way lest he become part of the hills with all of his remains plastered all over the road. At one point niranjan indicated to me that "lets show these buggers" but i said no, forget it.those guys were not worth it!

We reached the highway and kept up our speed as we were all getting tired and wanted to get back home as early as possible. By 5:30pm we were back at chandni chowk ccd. We made it back in 2 hrs. We ordered some coffee and setteled our expenses for the day with niranjan as he was our accountant for the day lol. By 7:30 we said our goodbyes and left for home.

As usual it was a pleasure riding with u guys. Special thanx to Sneh for the gloves and letting me ride ur bike.

Note to inder:- Get up earlier for the next ride so that we can leave on time bugger!

I read the portion that you had posted yesterday only but maybe niranjan log was there bang in the middle of all pictures and hence it attracted me towards it.

Ya, i guess he had that odd advantage(of owning the camera) .... rather the pics clicked by me, but i cudn't post coz it was NV's camera...
Chalo nevermind...!!

Also, i had not completed the log too...its till just the time we had our breakfast(will post the entire thing by tommorow morning)...!
