Nice review on the trip. Looks like you guys had lots of fun. How does the 220 compare to the Karizma for long journeys?

                      Good stuff....
I'm thinking about riding to goa too one of these days...still in the planning stages...
How come you'll opted for the NH4 route...was thinking of taking the NH17...any reason for that?
And another thing...how often did you'll stop for? like what were the duration of the riding n how many breaks n stuff did u'll take? i have an FZ aswell and wanted to know how much it can take at a time...

Went through the log. Thoroughly enjoyed reading this. I notice that Goa has changed a lot since I last visited that place. That was pretty long time ago. It was a quite tranquil place, with desolate virgin beaches of fine white sand, nice breakers and really very few people. Nobody had even heard of Jetskis then. Yes I do agree that food was really good back then too. I ate in shacks, small restaurants, rented small houses on the beaches... had a ball of a time. Had rented an RX to go to check out Portuguese Baroque architecture in Old Goa with my Gf. That was more than a decade ago.

I noticed that "girls in Bikinis" has generated a lot of interest in this thread. More than the ride itself. That is but natural since we do not get to see such exciting phenomenon in our country very often. Girls are conservative and their guys do not approve. But if you guys cannot afford Europe, go to Phuket, rent a bike and ride around the beaches over there. Lots of girls in Bikinis will beckon. And you can invite them to ride pillion on phenomenal machines as well! (Even an MV)

Did they manage to repair your cam?
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

We wanted to take the faster/safer route and hence chose NH4. We stopped at 2 places while going (P220 workshop and lunch) and while coming we came non-stop (night ride). Both times speeds were around 90-110kmph.
I feel FZ has a solid built engine and can take more than 1.5-2k kms at a time. (coz my P180 took 1k+ kms at a time-considering all the liquid levels on the bike are proper)

I know that things have changed a lot over the years in Goa, however, the essence of beach craze coupled with the beach shack eating still holds its special interest..... and for the new comers (to goa) 'girls in bikinis' holds a great interest .

My cam was 2yrs 9 months old (3yr warranty on Sony cameras), so I dried it completely and took it to the svc centre. They called me the next day saying the lens mechanism is dead and needs to be replaced. So it was under warranty (coz there were no physical damages). They changed the whole lens worth 8k.... Sony is amazing when it comes to warranty claims . My cam is as good as new now.

FZ is a strong performer, even after nailing it at 8.5k+ rpm for more than 9hrs (600+kms) continuously.... the bike was butter smooth, that shows how much more that engine is capable of.

EDIT: Sorry for the late reply.... I was away from xBhp for the last 15 days.

Just got back from my first mumbai - goa - mumbai ride...
was alota fun! the roads were pretty good except for a few random bumpy parts here n there...other than that awesome ride...took the NH17....12 n a half hrs goin, 11 hrs n 45 mins coming...took a couple of 5 min breaks in between to stretch, drink water,etc...both rides we left at 2 in the morning...
                              awesome experience overall!
