      Hi,

Can any one confirm, if the IBA is still valid /authorized ?

I was about to attempt an SS1600, but heard that IBA is banned in INDIA.

      Any news / inputs ?

For a moment, let's take it this way, there're 5 riders trying to attempt & one of you get a flat tire, don't you think one guy delays the other 4?
Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle
Awareness + Skill is what keeps you out of harm's way

Yes, but theres always more amount of risk involved doing a solo run....!!! Compared to riding in a group...!!! (My perspective)

Your perspective, my perspective, his perspective, her perspective...all boils down to one thing...everyone needs to stay safe & minimize the risk. Given a chance people would even don't mind taking a backup vehicle too, unfortunately there're only handful of people who can afford to it.

If people are more concerned of staying safe, apprehensive of risk, are not daring enough to overcome fear or doubt, don't even attempt such rides.

Point - Risk goes up, participating riders goes up; one guy goes down, the entire group goes down or they ditch him in between!!!

Its more of sticking as a team and playing safe. And if safety was the only reason, no 1 would have even thought of attemting it. !!
Dittching part is what i have never witnessed - only heard* (Rumours - I dont know) - (The South Ride of Sachin Niar n Rahul Kakkar Where the Unicorn was ditched) on XBHP only, not on my rides or what we had atleast.

From my little knowledge attempts like SS are not at all SAFE especially in this country. If people are concerned on safety aspects, here's my last say...

not to deter you -- I am saying this because my name is there in SS1600 & BB2500k --infact we were the 1st one in india to do a group bun burner

The dynamics change whenever you have a companion drastically

some random guy off the forum is not the correct way to go about it if you want company

any endurance run requires too detailed planning (specially in india) & is not only limited to riding fast or stamina -- time--distance--locations--stops -- all these things require meticulous planning to the last details so that you are ready & successful if & when you attempt it

a recent example of 5 guys attempting ended in failure due to one guy not feeling well-- one bike electricals going kaput

so an SS or BB is not something to be treated lightly infact those should be the last bastion to do after you have done everything else you want
