The dynamics change whenever you have a companion drastically

some random guy off the forum is not the correct way to go about it if you want company

any endurance run requires too detailed planning (specially in india) & is not only limited to riding fast or stamina -- time--distance--locations--stops -- all these things require meticulous planning to the last details so that you are ready & successful if & when you attempt it

a recent example of 5 guys attempting ended in failure due to one guy not feeling well-- one bike electricals going kaput

so an SS or BB is not something to be treated lightly infact those should be the last bastion to do after you have done everything else you want

Dittching part is what i have never witnessed - only heard* (Rumours - I dont know) - (The South Ride of Sachin Niar n Rahul Kakkar Where the Unicorn was ditched) on XBHP only, not on my rides or what we had atleast.
The unicorn was not "ditched". It faced mechanical problems and Kartik himself decided to go to Bangalore and get it fixed. It helps to verify rumours before posting them mate.

What makes you say that and believe in rumors? How can you pass such statement when you don't know the exact event of what happened?

Yes, In our South Ride, Kartik Mavani riding Unicorn had to go back from Bangalore to Mumbai as he had rim bend during the trip and his bike was wobbling. He was unable to ride and did not wish take any chances as the trip was very long. He did attempt to fix the issue in Bangalore Honda service centre and was suppose to catch up with us however due non availability of spare rim he had to return home. 5 of us continued the ride as per plan.

Where in the above event you find us ditching him? Before mentioning anyone's name and accusing them with reference to rumor, please get your facts right before posting such comments.

Funny how the fazerguy agreed to one point that you need to ride with trusted friends and ignored dark knights post which had some rather important points and treating SS and BB rides as casual Lonavla ride .Wow :P

                      Hi friends,

Can anyone help me with the following piece of info?

Are there frequent and enough petrol bunks on Bangalore-Kanyakumari-Bangalore route?

                      Thanks in advance.

When I did my saddle-sore in May 2012, Bangalore to Chitradurga road had many diversions as some work was going on. otherwise, roads are very conducive for saddle sore. couple of diversions near Belgaum too. I am not sure about present conditions. Also beware of some dangerous road humps especially between Chitradurga and Davanagere, particularly during night times.

Sorry for the delayed input.... Just saw the post now.

Let me tell you what had happened.
While on our way 2 Blore both of the rims were bent, and there was a major bend in the back rim... due to which the bike was wobbling a bit.
I told the rest of the guys that this is the issue and I cannot ride any further, and suggested them that let us get fixed in Blore.(Fortunately I had a friend in Blore)
                              They said OK......
And they left saying that come and meet us 2 Ooty tomorrow.....
Now I was considering that atleast someone from the group would accompany me to Blore.....and the only reason they were so keen for moving forward is that if they had to stay back then they will have to miss one of the location......

Now if you call this as Ditching..... it is "DITCHING" according to me, despite of anyones(ppl on the group) refusal calling it ditching...

And frankly I got my rims fixed on sunday.... which no one knows..... but i was not sure anymore whether I wanted to ride with the group... so I returned to Mumbai...
