Have subscribed to this thread. Will keep a close eye on this one.

Since you were travelling alone, do give us the details of what all things did you carry for the bike - eg, spares, tool kit etc. etc. What all preparations did you did you do before the trip - maps, route etc. etc.

This will help a newbie like me who is also planning to start out into touring.

        Prologue and Day 1

        Preparations before the ride:

Luggage carried:Extra Spare Parts taken: None

All the routes and distances were chalked out using google maps, and since I had google maps on my phone, I was not worried about anything. But however I had noted down some major points where i could get confused in a piece of paper and also the distances between major towns were noted down in the same paper.

But before I start the log, let me thank MG for letting me use his lens for 4 days.

        Day 1

Route Taken : Navi Mumbai -> Hubli -> Hospet -> Hampi

Route Map4:30 AM: 6:40 AM:, and being satisfied with the rate at which I was covering distance, I decided that I will take a photo-break once I cross Kolhapur.
As decided once I crossed Kolhapur, I stopped for clicking some pics. I was clicking the highway when suddenly I noticed a peacock near the farms that border the road, but unfortunately I lacked the equipment that could let me capture it, Nonetheless I made some snaps of the highway and pushed ahead. But seriously once we cross Kolhapur the NH4 is a treat, you can literally pin the throttle. The pics would make it even clearer I guess.

        The Glorious boring NH4

        1:00 PM:
        4:40 PM:

After this I smiled at him and went to my room.

Dumped my luggage, got freshened, took rest for a few minutes, unpacked my camera from my bag and then headed for Hampi.
I was truely delighted with the way the NS handled the 760 kms. Yes I have upgraded from a 12 year old CBZ Classic, so doing 760 kms in 12 hrs was not imaginable to me. I would let the pics tell the rest of the story for rest of the day.

I just could visit the Virupaksha temple, So the pics below are all of the same complex.

Nicely written and great pics, the one in black and white with temple and the cloud took my breath away.
It would have been scary 20 minutes when you were following the Convoy ..

Very well described and some awesome shots there. Reading your travelogue, even I'm itching take the NS for a short spin. You should have traveled to Bangalore as well. BTW it must have been quite hot there.

                    Thanks bro for appreciating.
you know what, atleast a dozen of my friends (non-biking) in Bangalore were telling me to come, but then NH4 all the way to Bangalore is very very boring. But might do it sometime this year, may be around diwali. I am eager to meet the fellow NSians from Bangalore....

The convoy thing happend to me twice in Kolkata, and the Police in the last van Gestuered me to keep a safe distance from the convoy.
Since you were doing triple digits most of the time, how was th engine heating???

When you ride at triple digit speeds the wind also takes care of the heating and I didnt feel much meat on my legs, but yeah you get the smell of a hot metal for sure...

It often takes a humiliating overtake to understand that an early jump off the red light won't help them lead the pact. All I want to say is - Go after green.
