Nice one. You missed something excellent: The Perisher Valley. I am not sure if the road would be closed, but I think not since its a popular ski resort. You would have found snow and some excellent photos: Charlotte Pass Ski Resort, Kosciuszko Road, Perisher Valley, NSW, Australia - Google Maps

Mount Buller was another option, it has got thousands of white bark trees which give it a surreal look.

Thanks Sunny,I had to miss many things in between as i had to reach Sydney by the night of 02nd day.I am planning to scan all these places in the coming weekends in a 02 days ride.
Have been to Mount Baw Baw..Mount Buller is next in the list
