GOOOOOD MORNINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
View from the Lodge

Had a good sleep of 7-8 hours. Got up at 7am. Freshened up and went for darshan.
The Lodge that we managed to get for Rs400!!! Steal it was as compared to Rs 1500 MTDC accommodation!!

It was quite some time since I wanted to visit Ganpatipule. Had heard of its clean white sand beaches, beautiful temple and here I was standing right in front of the temple.
Entrance:

As it was 5th day of Ganpati Visarjan, temple was pretty less crowded. Had a quick darshan, and came out to click some pics of he beautiful surroundings. Here are the pics…

1km Pradikshina Marg around the temple

Hariyali hi Hariyali!!!

Busy Eating huh!!! Not even bothered to pose for the shutterbugs!!!

I personally wanted to get some memento for myself and was searching out at the local stores if I could get anything. That’s when we spotted this Hath Gaadi wala with toys. Saw a well-crafted wooden car. Next to it saw a bike as well, priced Rs 150. Not bad at all!!! Rohan and myself bought one for each of us.
One of the Stalls!!

With the scale models!!! Desi Ishtyle!!!

Rohan ko Bachpan ke din yaad aagye!!!

Just few days back, I remember, our very good friend Avinash had bought a scale model of BMW 1000RR and had posted some beautiful Scale Model Motoshoot pics on Facebook. So here we thought of having a Desi Scale Model Motoshoot right on the beach!!!! This one’s for you Avi!!!!

Beautiful Ganpatipule Beach!!!

Ajji 3 Limbu Sharbat!!!

After all this morning masti we came back to our room, packed up, geared up and left Ganpatipule at 11am.
Rohan Ki Anarkali…

Checked for the coastal route with the hotel guy. He himself was not quite sure and per him we would have to ferry our bikes to other side of the shore at some place. I exactly don’t remember that place’s name. Our aim was to reach Panvel before dusk. Hence returning back via coastal highways was looking a bit dicey. Thought of checking with people ahead and we checked out from the lodge!
Just as we got out of the temple premises this was the view. Had missed it last night while coming but not this time…

Once we were on the SH leading to NH17 we were asked to take a left which would lead us to the coastal highways via Guhagar. We took the left and here our quest for coastal roads started.
Roads were in pretty bad condition but the very thought of riding on coastal roads pushed us forward on those non-existent roads.
We came across some beautiful ghat sections & a picturesque bridge as well en-route this ride on the interior roads. Reached a point which was quite scenic and we decided to have a break and click some pics & Videos.
I am sure he might have got loads of such pics… But still some from this ride as well!!!

And The Last pic of the ride!!

Neeteesh’s DSLR’s battery had worn out. So after a quick break we moved ahead.
Rohan: (To Me) – Abe saale itna ghumake agar costal roads nahi mila na to kasam se maar dalunga tujhe
Me: Milega yaar… hona to chahiye hi… apneko hotel walo ne bhi bola tha… chal dekhte hai…
After about good 40kms of struggle on bad roads we reached a place, which showed go straight for Guhagar 45kms, take a right turn for Savarde 30km and Chiplun 45kms. And for Chiplun would need to go via Savarde. Till now had not seen even a bit of coastal roads. On enquiring with local people we came to know that there are no coastal roads here and for Chiplun we would need to go via Savarde.
Rohan gives me this look
!!! And that's my reaction
!!!Couldn’t help it but with hell lot of disappointment we went ahead.
Entered NH17 just before Chiplun.
Filled up some fuel and off we go again. This was where later I had an incident where I kissed the XYLOS Aarse… Out of no where this guy suddenly breaks hard & I too follow the suit…just to know that I am kissing the Xylos arse with my P180s Headlight. The bummer didn’t even notice. Or else we were in it for a game.
Just before Chiplun we came across an A$$h01@ driver with his Tavera who was driving like an insane without any road sense. On an open highway with no vehicles to overtake he was cutting lanes like anything. Tried to overtake him for good 15-20 minutes but was unable to do so because of his awesome driving skills (Bugger). At one point got a chance to got a chance and I overtook him from the right lane. After that since that mad a$$ was on the right lane Rohan overtook from left lane.
We maintained good pace and reached Pardhuram ghat at about 2 in the noon. We were hungry so we decided to take a lunch break, rest for some time and move ahead.
Here at the dhaba we were served some delicious Chicken Fry, Chicken Masala and Egg Bhurji.
Me: Are yaar wo #$%!@# Tavera driver dimag ki mother sister kar raha tha yaar… kaise bhi chala raha tha… Overtake hi nahi karne de raha tha…
Rohan: Haa yaar… Bohot pareshan kiya yede ne… At last left me se hi overtake karma pada usko…
Neeteesh: Pata nahi kya hua tha usko… yede jaisa lane cut kar raha tha without any reason…Chu….
Me: Seriously yaar!!! BEEP BEEP BEEP!!!!! And many more beeps!!!
Rohan : + BEEP BC MC.
Meanwhile there was a family of 7-8 people seated right next us. One of the guys from them asks me!
Guy: Are.. Ti laal gaadi konachi aahe? (Whose bike is that red one – pointing at Rohan’s Bike)Me: Aamchich aahe kaay zhaal? (It’s ours only.. What happened)Guy: Tum ladko samajhta nahi hai kya left se overtake nahi karna chahiye… dangerous hota hai.. thoda idhar udhar hua to seedhe neeche jaaoge
(Why don’t you boys understand that its dangerous to overtake from the left, a slight mistake and you would be gone!)That’s when we realized that the guy whom we were abusing was sitting right besides us

Rohan: To kya karte log right lane me yede jaisa chala rahe hai to left se hi overtake karna padega na!!!
(What else can we do if people are driving on the right lane!!)
Believe me this conversation is censored to an extreme extent to make it appropriate for reading on this forum. We were abusing that guy like anything after which we realized he was sitting right next to our table.
He did not say anything further. We continued digging into our yummy lunch!!!

Some Yummy Chicken Fry, Dal Tadka and Chicken Masala!!
We could manage some food pics on this ride. We surely missed out on Avi's delicious food pics...
This was the last stop that we took on our return journey. It was some 4 hours of non-stop riding.
This was the ride when my steed touched its first milestone!!! 10000kms
Was constantly looking at my odo as I did not want to loose that 10k wala pic. As soon as the odo hit 10k mark, I pulled over, took some pics and moved ahead.
Customary Pic!!!

Since it was Ganpati Bappa's Visarjan we were encountering those processions bang on middle of the NH. Which slowed our pace a bit. Reached Panvel at 7:30 and it was indeed a relief as we did not want to risk ourselves riding on that stretch during night time. Had a small chai and sutta break.
Reached Kalamboli naka where we bid adieu to each other and left on our respective routes. Reached home by 9pm., had a good dinner dozed off!!!
This brings and end to this ride, which was indeed fun. Riding on NH17 is always a pleasure but quite dangerous as well.
This is my first experience in writing a log. Suggestions, Corrections are most welcome. Thank you for going through the log, Hope you enjoyed it!!!
