btw, it seems you have printed xbhp on all your stuff-- jackets, helmets, saddlebags ..

and one thing i wanna know is which brand saddle bags you are using, coz they look too big.
    Thanks a lot Prince

The saddlebags are not branded, we came across them in a market store. We picked the bigger size since we need to pack in enough stuff for both of us to last 10 days. It's comfortable enough though.
Regarding the printing, well, we are truly fond of xBhp through which we have made so many like minded friends and a platform to share our thoughts, logs and pictures !

            Leg 3 :Rameswaram/ Kanyakumari

            Rameswaram/Ramanathapuram/Thiruppullani/Sayalgudi/Tuticorin/Tiruchendur/Kanyakumari

The next morning we are off again. We need to return back around 50km to get back on to the ECR and once on it it’s a real joy. We soon pass the port city of Tuticorin and Tiruchendur passing hundreds of wind turbines on both sides of the road, almost lazily spinning around to generate power.

As we descend towards Kanyakumari, we realize that we are nearing the Cape, the southern tip of our mainland and knowing that the Arabian Sea, The Bay of Bengal and The Indian Ocean meet here is a truly special feeling. The city is crowded with pilgrims and tourists from around the country. Luckily we are staying at a friend’s place away from the town. After riding down to the sunset point we decide to return back soon as the crowds were a little too thick for comfort.

Early the next morning we leave to watch the sunrise. There were conflicting opinions on the exact time of the sunrise and a cloudy horizon didn’t help much. The expectant hush turns into animated exclamations as the sun finally shows up, fashionably late just like the VIP that he really is.

Later we take a ferry to the customary, must see, Rock Memorials and the temple and get set for our onward ride to Kerala. The East Coast and the Cape was done and it was now time for a U turn to hit the other coast.

Up Next: Kerala, a G2G and ride to meet family.

            Cheers

Ridermax rocks. Never knew rode all that way, thought straight from Bangalore. Every biker would envy in one thing, a better half like Mrs. Ridermax

And obviously the bike deserves respect, touring on a 125 when biker with bigger toys complaining their machines crying when cruising and all.

                      Kanyakumari/Nagercoil/Marthandam/Neyyattinkara/Trivandrum

We had planned to visit and stay with my cousin at Trivandrum. I felt this was a good chance to meet some of our TVM xbhpians, so I messaged them saying I would like to meet them and they said they would arrange a meet. I also messaged Major Harikesh who I really wanted to meet from quite a while.

The ride from Kanyakumari to Trivandrum though only a very short stretch turned out to be the most tedious. The road was jammed with traffic blocks it being the Christmas Eve and almost everyone was out shopping. We managed to weave though and finally reached Trivandrum. With Christmas around and the holiday mood in the air it was party time and we crashed into bed in the wee hours of the morning.

Christmas day we spent with my cousin and family and generally taking it easy. Meanwhile the Xbhp boys had arranged a meet on the 27th evening. I informed Major Harikesh and he said he would meet us.
Not being familiar with TVM city we made a couple of wrong turns before arriving at the meeting place. It was great to see a group of them waiting for us and after greetings and wishes we gather at a restaurant for coffee. Soon Major Harikesh also joined us, taking time off his busy office schedule to meet us (Thank you Major). As usual, when a group of bikers meet, the place hums with bikers talk. Music to the ears of those on the same frequency!

After a while of introductions and chit chat, we bid adieu and leave. Thanks a lot boys for arranging a brief but lovely G2G. Thanks Dilip, Vishnu, Jerrin, Vaishak, Vishak, Vishnu Nair, Atul and Venu, It sure was a pleasure meeting you boys!

                      Leg 5 : Trivandrum/Perumbavoor

                      Trivandrum/Kottarakara/Adoor/Pandalam/Chenganur/Thiruvalla/Changanassery/Nedumudi/Alleppy/Cherthala/Kochi/Perumbavoor

Major had a business meeting at Kollam the next day and was planning to drive down. When he heard that we will be riding to Perumbavoor next morning, the true gentleman and passionate biker that he is he graciously decided to join us a for a part of the ride.

He joined us on his Impulse the next morning (it was drizzling too), and guided us out of the city. We head onto the lovely M.C Road and ride together up to Kottarakara, where after a pleasant breakfast together we part- he towards Kollam and we towards Adoor and onwards. (Was a pleasure riding with you Major)

M.C Road is a pleasure with numerous curves and smooth tarmac. The lush green of Kerala is a total bonus. We just have to keep a careful watch on the maniacal bus drivers bent upon running others down.

After a brief visit at an uncle’s place at Thiruvalla, we head on to Changanassery and branch off on to NH 11. The road along the backwaters and canals with stalls hawking ducks and eggs alongside made us pause often to take in the sights. Houseboats amble slowly on the backwaters with exited holiday makers reveling on board. “Happy Holidays Folks”!

Soon we are near bustling Kochi and thankfully take the bye pass on towards Aluva and Perumbavoor to our ancestral home and family.

Up Next: The Final Leg & The Ride Back Home

                      Cheers

                          Wonderful trip, RM.

You know what I like the best about your travelogues? Their simplicity. The fotos are neither too big nor too small. The captions are amusing and informative. The small tid-bits of information in between are just correct. In short, you seem to have mastered the art of riding long distances AND photographing your ride AND writing well about it all.

Mrs RM is truly and intrepid adventurer and needs a special salute for her energy and endurance and enthusiasm.

For newbies to the South like me, could you put in a brief schedule of each leg too? That would truly be the icing on a Christmas cake!

Again, a lovely view of the oceans of India thru your eyes. Great, just great...
