It sure was nice bprags. Nice to have taken you alongOriginally posted by bprags View PostAwesome ride saar. I felt as if I was there. Keep posting.
Thanks steve. Always good to ride there. The best time would be during peak monsoon. Missed a monsoon ride there again.Originally posted by steveburnside2001 View Postnice pics , makes me remember my trip to B.R hills last December
Thanks Pranay. The last white flower for just 2cms wide. as to the above pic, i like it too. But i gotta learn using the flash in bright sunlight shots to reduce the dark areas. Any way looks like the bike's got full faring heheOriginally posted by pranay View Postgreat photography, man!! your macro shots are just too good. The flowers shots are exceptional.
But somehow, I found this pic the best

Here's the rest of the pix:
Out of the forest reserve and head towards chamarajanagar. Found this strange building out of no where!

This is what it was about

Looks like peak harvest season. They put the paddy on the road all the way...

Proud of the Ragi produce..

Had lunch in chamarajanagar and the bumpy roads had taken a toll on my back by now. Was just wondering will i be able to pull of an himalayan ride at this state!
Reach the Nanjangud temple

This guy almost walked over me while i was taking his pic. Had to aquardly paddle the bike ahead with cam in one hand, falling helmet and gloves, to get out of his way!

Nearing mysore it was already 5 O clock and i was running out of time to get to a water spot outside KRS before sundown. That too i had to search the place. Looked like lost cause. Called up hydro for directions but i was still confused. Luckily it took the ring road and avoided getting into the city and ripped madly to get near KRS. One guy even suggested short to get faster. At a fuel bunk i inquired about the place around KRS to get near water. After a conference between three pump employees. It was told to look for a place called KRS beach/Blue Lagoon, way to the island and what not. By the description looked like it was now where near Hydro's visit. But looking at the confidence of ppl and less time went in search for it. One guy even asked Y would u go at this time?
Sure enough i found the mud road for the *Blue Lagoon*

Sure enough can see the water and dam and sun just about holding up for me. As i reach the end an old guy stopped and demanded 50 bux from me. saying that i am entering his private property. Well ok!

Finally i make it to the *KRS beach* before sun down. And that my friends how the huge KRS dam looks like from the other side

Bike happy to see the wanter and it was click away time till sun down.

The bike and the dam

Now this was freaky. There was not a soul around and all of a sudden all these crows came at a time and stood facing the same direction. And just as suddenly left together!

Thousands of people on the other side of the damn, but this whole place just for me

Catch the sunset, though not exactly found the Sun setting on the water. Hydro's place on the opposite shore would have been nice.

Just laze around

came from that way.

Ok that island is supposed to be the Blue lagoon!. Had i come earlier could have gone on boat to it.

Some click aways

Lights getting turned on

Sun has set..

Now it was almost and i was alone at an unfamilier place. and had some 3-4 kms for mud roads to cross before catching the road. But stop in the middle for more clicks..

Now its like 7PM and got nothing more to get home. This time take the main road towards srirangapatna. And the mad scramble of ppl entering KRS beings. It was such a chaos. Cars from opposite would come so far into left lane that hardly a bike can pass. I some how sqeeze through a major jam forming. Then i see literally hundreds of vehicles piling up as i was escaping. Boy will they take a few hours to get to KRS
Reach the 4 laner and it was rip time wizzing past the cars et all.
Again nothing like a hot cup of coffee in winer evening

Rest of the ride again adrenelin rush zipping between the vehicles. Get home by 10 pm with a ride of 465kms. Thought this ride back from mysore was unusualy more fun. Then i realised it was the first time on ZMA and over taking was just too easy
All in all a nice day out.

am again jealous of you blr J boys
laavlies, nicely written, lovely pics but two things:
a. Your blog says ATGATT. Where's knee guards?
b. Your pics seem without rich/deep colors - i mean sky isnt as blue as some SLR boys make it etc. cant explainbetter, photographers can explain betterhttp://www.bikenomads.com/wiki/index.php/Leh - All you ever need to know about getting Leh'd.

a. The kneepads are inside the pants, dont want to scratch the paint off the tank all the way to the steel on my NYuuu ZMA, as it happened on my cbz
In fact just below the ATGATT statement in the blog i had told wear it outside to save the pants
, they were inside when i crashed and tore my pant
b. Thats because its almost mid way between gree and dry season, and it was bright bright sunlight stealing the details. Should use a filter or should learn to use the setting bettor
. The sky blue'er on the shots facing away from the sun.
Check these two pix taken almost successively. First one kinda facing the sun, and second one kinda facing away from sun and the sky is blue.

Plus when the sun is above the head, you may not get to see a blue sky even with naked eye
