  • [Photo Feature]: Group ride to Javvadhu Hills

Hi friends. I am Shenbaga Pandiyan doing Chartered Accountancy course. I started riding bikes from my 12th grade with my CT100. After 2 years I had a thought of upgrading to a better one. So I decided to go for R15. I got my bike on 7thClick image for larger version

We paid our bill and started to explore the upstream of Javvadhu hills @ 8.49 A.M. In about five minutes from the hotel we entered into the forest reserve area. The road become too narrow that only one vehicle could pass at a time.

I love to do cornering but I have not been much into curves and hairpin bends earlier. My joy started to shoot up seeing those curves. We could do only upto 40 Kmph as the road was too narrow & hilly. Slowly while tackling the corners & looking at the beautiful sceneries my confidence level got increased. With optimum throttle control, proper gear shifting pattern & accurate Braking I started exploring the art of cornering. Twist of the wrist helped me a lot to discover about the cornering abilities inside me.

We planned to ride further then covered the rest of the hills and reached a place called Jamunamarathur. We continued further, crossed Alangayam by 10.30 A.M. and reached Tiruppattur by 11.16 A.M. We got our fuel tanks filled and started searching for a place to take some break. Finally we stopped near a small shop and took rest.

We got the route updates and decided to bypass Harur to reach Thirukovilur. Once we crossed Harur we could find only the mud roads. It was the worst stretch we had covered in this ride with too many speed breakers, pot holes and bumps. We somehow managed to reach Thirukovilur by 3.48 P.M. Most of the riders got exhausted at this point but rest of the riders motivated the other riders. we finally decided to have lunch in Vilupuram so we got refreshed with some juice and a small break.

We continued our ride towards Vilupuram where we can find a good stretch as compared to the previous one. Around 4.30 we reached Vilupuram . Some of the riders fueled their vehicles and started searching for a good hotel. We found a good hotel in the highway. We parked our bikes and stepped into the restaurant. Some people had food and most of them opted to go for a Juice. By 4.56 P.M. we started from the hotel, caught up NH45 and reached Singaperumal Koil by 6.15 P.M.

We successfully completed our Ride and dispersed from that point. As I was very tired I pushed off to my home, had dinner and slept.

I totally enjoyed my Ride that day with my Brotherhood and this has become a memorable part of my life. I covered 628 Km in about 15 Hours and 20 Minutes. In that day we had the experience of riding in extreme fog, extreme hot, on hills, plains including 2 way roads, 4 way roads & Off Road. Put together it was good package in a single day. I consider this to be my beginning, expecting many unexpected rides in the future.
