Hello,
Did u meant 33-38 kmpl for speeds in excess of 85-110 kmph?? So will it return more than that if we ride little more sanely? say at 65 kmph??

It all depends upon the speed and condition of the bike and my bike gave me 27 kmpl on what i would say was a mixture of high speed (120-130 kmph) straights, hill climb and congested state highways. So, definitely it has had its effect on the mileage in city normally i get 28-30 and on highways under sedate (85 -110 kmph)driving anywhere from 33 - 38 kmpl.

Taking the liberty to answer your query after almost 2 years.

Coasting downhill with a killed engine/neutral takes all control away from you. There is no engine braking/throttle to aid you and for ABS equipped bikes, ABS is switched off too!
Say you're coasting downhill at Nandi and suddenly a car comes at a blind corner pointed at you, if the engine is on and transmission engaged, you can simply brake, rev match and accelerate away!
