I rode to Vijayawada (my hometown) in last November. I didn't have any plans to ride to any other places around there. But, Sanjay Sandhu and Elijah Sharma from Hyderabad decided to visit Manginapudi beach (Machilipatnam), 80 kms away from Vijayawada. When Sanjay called me I told I would meet them at Vijayawada and guide them towards Machilipatnam. They reached Vijayawada on Sunday morning around 10:30 a.m. I received them at Benz Circle and I just got to know from my brother that Manginapudi beach is closed for renovation. They didn't have a clue as to what to visit, I checked out other beach options with my relatives and finally zeroed in on Hamsaladeevi (a place where krishna river meets the Sea), 80 kms away from Vijayawada. As this place is a bit isolated compared to Manginapudi beach, finally I decided to ride with them and that was also a first for me. My sister's son accompanied me as a pillion. And thus the ride began at around 11:30 p.m.
We started from Yanamalakuduru to Avanigadda, a two-lane road runs along a small canal on left side, and the might huge Krishna river on right side, but a little far away. The ride was fun with lots of greenery around. The paddy was just ripen and is golden yellow and it was breathtakingly beautiful.
Sanjay clicking Elijah who was trying to take a nap on the road. You can see the sand bed of River krishna on the background.

The Krishna River on the right side sometimes comes very close to the road and we decided to check out.

There were coconut trees everywhere on the banks of paddy fields. These pics remind the Gods Own Country.

We reached Avanigadda after 1.5 hours and Sanjay and Elijah were very hungry by that time. We found hotel on the main road of Avanigadda and had lunch. I got the details as to how to reach Hamsaladeevi from the locals there and we started from there around 2:30 p.m. The road was nice with a canal on left side and beautiful paddy fields EVERYWHERE.

As we neared the beach, we found wast swamps, a kinda forest.

Finally, we reached the beach (called Palakayathippa) and enjoyed there for 1.5 hours. It was cloudy there surprisingly. I was elated all the while riding on the beach.

We enjoyed on the beach till 5 p.m. and we decided to ride back. Elijah was very tired as he didn't sleep much the night before due to office. As we ride back, we have see one of the best sunsets of our lifetime. Never imagined the coastal Andhra would be that beautiful. I have stayed close to those places for almost 10 years and never got to see the beauty.

We reached Hyderabad by 8 p.m. and Sanjay and Elijah left for the night stay in the Hotel.
Next day, we visited Undavalli Caves and then rode back to Hyderabad.
Day 2 will be continued.
