After checking the Oil level.. I asked Manoj to check if we can get the Motul 300V anywhere around (forgetting that we were in a remote area).. our search went in vain.. Amresh meanwhile found out a place to stay in Narkanda.. the Narkanda Resort.. It is a Govt Run Resort with tents... When asked.. they said it is just few kms down the hill.. me and manoj turned off our engines thinking not to risk our bikes lives..

we let the gravity and downhill ride do the work.. without the engine on.. our bikes did 60s.. i overtook Manoj

as my ZMR's wheel was perfectly aligned and the chain was free without much tension..

so we finally reached the Narkanda Tents & Resorts.. Amresh and Manoj went to check on the availability and to our bad luck.. they said no tents were available..

we didn't have any other place to stay in the deserted place.. Manoj came back down and he wanted to go and check out this lonely road by the side.. so me and Manoj started our engines and we climbed up the hill (forgetting the oil level)..

as we reached the lonely road (very small path I must say.. Only one bike can go at a time.. it went down slope almost 1km and no one was there.. so we decided to turn around and go back as it was gonna get dark and it gave us the goosebumps

i went well ahead and Manoj didn't come.. I got frightened.. it is not possible for me to take a U turn and go see as there is not enough space.. I went up took a U turn and went back down and saw his bike and not him.. It scared the shit out of me.. I went near his bike to see him looing.. I started abusing him to the core that he will never forget it..

then i managed to take U turn there itself and we climbed back up.. and went to the Narkanda Tents & Resorts..

by the time we reached.. Amresh gave us a good news that he was able to get us a tent for 3

we were so happy and we decided to unpack and then hit the woods and explore..

we were told that we are just 15kms away from the Apple Forest.. we thought we can go and check it out knowing its getting dark..

so we unpacked.. kept all our stuff in the tent and we started our Engines..

So off we went to the Apple Forest..

we went deep in about 5kms.. and we were deserted.. no one was around.. the sound of the wilderness just pounding in our ears.. something sounded fishy

finally we saw some cars and mini buses.. My God.. they were coming at us with full speed.. and the road was very narrow.. they could have easily pushed us off the roads and down the mountains.. so we decided not to take such risk..

Sorry for a long wait...

Was not busy but just forgot about this log

so the photo session continued just before it got dark as we had to travel back that lonely road with fear.. we heard wild animals alarming..

So here it goes.. we were some 3 kms away from Narkanda.. we moved from there after a long photo session.. we were hungry too.. so we moved to the resort as soon as possible...

we saw a van filled with hot chicks

and no doubt we were happy.. but the only thing was... our tent was way far away from theirs.. they were with guys

Amresh is good in making friends.. so he caught hold of one of the guys there and made a friend there.. that guy invited us for the Camp fire they have managed to plan out..

that was suppose to be at some 8PM.. and the time was around 7:45 PM.. we went to the restaurant and ordered some pakoras and some snacks.. we had them and we were checking out the cute girls there

we proved to be guys as everyone single guy would..

Manoj tried to resist..

so then it was time for the camp fire and there was no one there.. we were waiting waiting and we waited till 8:45.. me and Amresh felt tired so we thought we should go and sleep

Oops.. I forgot about this thread. It had stayed untouched for a long time I guess

To finish it off..

me and Amresh went ahead to the tents to sleep.. in 5 minutes Manoj followed up.. we thought we should get to sleep. Instead we were discussing about all possible crap a guy can imagine. well that's what guys do best, right?

Amresh told us about his secret crush over our new Team Mate.. me and Manoj were pulling his legs and this went on...

we finally decided to sleep and decided we should leave by 8 AM..

As usual.. I woke up at 6.. got myself ready after doing all the morning chores... I decided to go get my bike warmed up and cleaned.. I usually keep the bike started and then do the cleaning job.. I turned on the ignition and pressed the self start and busss.. the speedo console went blank and came back alive.. tried once again. same happened after which I realized the battery had a war with the HID Projector and finally gave up and was killed.. so I decided to first clean up the bike, take her out of the parking and push start the bike.. to my luck, since we were on the mountains.. i just had to let gravity do the work and the engine roared back to life.. I took her out for a small spin..

I found a skeleton of a cow as it seemed lying on the road side.. I couldn't help but stop and click a pic of it as this was the first time I had seen the skeleton of a cow in full.. no.. the legs were missing..

looked more lie a calf than a cow..

so I warmed up the bike and charged the battery a bit and parked her back. by the time I returned.. both the guys were ready.. Amresh was getting the bills paid and we started exactly by 8:15 AM..

I just couldn't get the thought of the Engine oil quantity off of my mind.. it was disturbing through-out as I didn't want my bike to give up.. I kept pestering Manoj asking him when will get the oil for our bikes so that we can top them up. he said we will get it done in Chandigarh.. the guys were hungry.. so we thought we can have a small break.. we initially thought we will finish have our breakfast in shimla but as usual, Amresh just forgot and he kept moving.. finally I went ahead of him and told him to feed the stomach

we were on a look out for a hotel/dhabha.. we couldn't find any.. manoj wanted to get apples to take home.. we found many guys selling them, Manoj decided to stop with one guy..

Ami as usual, wanted to piss..

we got the apples and plums.. we didn't know where to tie them. i kept a box in my bag and Manoj tied the rest on the side of his bike over the saree guard using the elastic net which we use on out seats..

Manoj wanted a click of his bike in front of the Solan Breweries.. so here is a pic to keep him happy

we finally decided to have our breakfast and looked at the time.. it was around 11:30 AM.. we stopped at a small dhabha and we had our brunch.. meanwhile, it started raining heavily.. we were stuck up for almost 2 hrs in the same place.. the time was already 1:45 PM.

while raining, me and Manoj removed our bikes and kept them under the over shelf that the building had so that our clothes and bags don't get wet.. Amresh let his bike enjoy the rain as his bag was on my bike..

Manoj got a call from our colleague who came with us til Ambala.. he wanted us to pick him up.. we told him we were stuck up in rain and it will take us night to reach Ambala (we didn't want his company so we avoided him saying we will be late) and so we left the place after the rain stopped..

the road was slippery rather the tires weren't good enough on wet roads.. we were moving slowly and as we gained more confidence, we started cruising above 60ish on the mountains.. we finally got to the plain roads and thats when we started our Fiestaaa

we started cruising at high speeds of 85-95 kmph..

Manoj wanted to get the air checked and we took a small break for about 5 mins meanwhile.. we were nearing Chandigarh and we crossed Chandigarh.. I completely forgot about the engine oil being less in quantity and we went ahead.. we crossed Ambala and Amresh wanted to have a tea break.. so we stopped by a small tea stall..

I just checked on our bikes and I noticed heavy oil leakage on the RE Classic 350.. we got shocked as the complete rear tire and the rim was filled with oil.. we were sure what the problem was.. whether is it from the chain drive or is it engine oil.. we were confused

Amresh had no idea what me and Manoj were doing (he is a noob, only manoj and I take of these kinda situations) we checked for the oil leveler and we couldn't find any sign of oil which shocked us even more.. we sent manoj to get the engine oil for RE.. he got some 2 ltrs of oil and we poured it in the Engine till we saw signs of oil in the side oil gauge (we have no idea about REs)

meanwhile I remembered that my bike and Manoj's bike needed oil.. I tried called Manoj, he didn't pick up the phone.. then I thought let me check the oil level and the oil level was normal.. Boy was I relaxed.. then i realized the level on the mountains isn't even and thats the reason for the sign of no oil

checked for Manoj and same with his bike.. so we were a bit relaxed.

while all this was happening, Amresh was cleaning up his oily bike.. boy it leaked soooo much of oil it made me wonder what kinda lubrication it needed (If you Know what I mean

)

we moved on further.. it was evening around 5:45 and Amresh again wanted a tea and a poo break.. so we stopped by a small restaurant, ordered for tea and he went to poo..

while he was in the washroom, he was getting back to back phone calls.. as soon as he came, he called back the person and was on call for about 20 minutes.. after he hung up.. he said the following..

"it was this girl.. one of his friend who is crazy.. she is getting married next month and she is calling me to her house for this and that and this blah blah blah and he said everything that happened"

he got a call again.. and this time.. the girl started abusing him to the core.. he was like WTF.. then she said I heard all the conversation he had with me and Manoj.. telling about her to us.. this idiot didn't disconnect the call and he kept the phone in his shirt pocked.. damn him..

and there went our time.. he spent almost half an hour on call trying to console her.. we lost our time there and the time was almost 6:30 PM and we had to cross another 130+ kms.. we started from there after that big fight and we stopped for 20 minutes to have dinner and we reached our house at around 9:00 PM..

it was one hell of a ride.. we enjoyed.. we had no idea where we were headed.. we didn't have a destination.. we only had a starting point..

Amresh learnt something on this trip.. "Always Make sure the call is disconnected"

I didn't want to leave my bike stranded.. as Noida is known for vehicle thieves!

I saw a shop vendor.. a small tea stall who I see everyday on my way to office.. I pushed the bike towards his small stall and asked him if I can leave my bike here and go get fuel.. he said yes.. and I parked the bike.. then again... with a poker face.. I asked him if he had a waste bottle for me to get fuel in.. He was kind enough to pour out the water he had in his water bottle and gave it to me..

I crossed the road.. caught an auto-rickshaw and went to the Fuel station and got one liter fuel and went back in the same Auto..

he charged me heavily but I had no other choice but to get it..

Already frustrated.. My So called idiot Friend manoj called me up.. when I was returning from the Fuel Station.. I tot he was riding his bike hence he didn't pick up the phone.. but the reason he gave just made me more frustrated

He said he was sleeping so he didn't attend the call..

I was like.. WTF happened to our plan of coming early to office... he was like.. Yeah.. It just got cancelled and you guys should have hear him laughing.. I felt like killing him.. lol..

Well.. it was 9 AM and I finally reached office.. so frustrated.. didn't feel like doing any work... Just sat down and was wondering.. whether these guys are even gonna come for the weekend ride..

It was 9:30 and both the idiots came with a stupid smile on their faces.. I got relieved after seeing them with their travel bags and kits..

that was a huge sign of relief..

I started abusing them to the core.. We had so much of work as usual and we didn't even take breaks as we wanted to leave as soon as possible.. we tot we can finish the work by 11:30 and leave for the day..

it was 11:30.. we all finished our work and we were about to go out of cubicle.. and thats when our manager came.. Once he starts speaking.. he will never leave you.. he kept talking for almost an hour and our Luck.. it was 12:30 PM.. we went out and got our bikes packed..

We had another friend join us till Ambala.. as he was going to him hometown in Ambala..

We started the engines...

Well, Guess what happened.. RE Classic 350 had some starting issues.. the issue was already there.. but that idiot never got it checked.. so on our way we went to the RE SVC to get it checked.. those guys never bothered to look into the issue and made us wait for a long time..

Meanwhile Manoj went to get his battery changed..

now the time was 2:30 PM and they finally take the bike inside to check on it.. Me and Manoj were sure its an issue with the wiring.. and those guys were saying its an issue with the Engine Kill Switch..

They changed it and still the bike had starting problem.. then me and Manoj suggested them to check the wiring to the Battery.. Once they opened the battery compartment.. the battery was in bad condition and the wires were filled with acid deposits..

we requested them to fill up water in the battery and put it for charge.. we got the battery charged.. got the terminals cleaned, wires cleaned and by then, the time was 4 PM already and we had a plan to make it till Shimla by 11PM..

So we started our bikes.. hit the roads.. by 4:30 we hit NH01.. Karnal Chandigarh Road... we were feeling hungry.. so we decided to stop for food..

One of the best places to have your food.. Sukh Dev Dabha... yummy food.. worth every penny...

we had food and we moved at around 5:30 PM.. it was already too late.. and our colleague who joined us wanted to ride RE on highways.. so Amresh let him ride his bike..

He started riding the bike rashly... we were scared like hell for Amresh.. he didn't know when to apply brakes.. he just goes too close and gives a cut just behind the vehicle ahead.. he was going at 100's.. of course the roads are pretty good that we can easily hit above 100's but what scared us was the cunning smile on our colleague's face.. that devilish smile..

we reached Ambala in just 2 hours cos of the rash driving.. me and Manoj had to go ahead of RE350 every time to slow him down..

After we dropped him in Ambala.. He kept cribbing that RE couldn't cross 100 kmph.. crazy guy..

So now the time is 7:30 PM and now we were in a dilemma whether we will make it to Shimla or not.. I strongly said.. we are going to Shimla.. no matter how late it gets..

so we moved on.. we neared Chandigarh at around 8:30 PM and we took right towards Shimla under bridge... from there the road was free and we were quite satisfied with it.. when we were about to climb up the mountains, the road was pretty awesome but we were going quite slow...

After some 20 kms from climbing the mountain, we decided to stop for dinner.. and the time was 9:15 PM.. Amresh called up his bro, Manoj with his wife and me with my mom.. informed mom that I was going on bike

initially told her we are going in car

She started abusing me out of care and she was crying.. i had to pacify her...

We had Tea and Cool Drinks there and we moved as soon as possible..

after some distance.. on the left.. there is a Hyundai Showroom.. we stopped by there as Amresh wanted a Pee Break

so me and Manoj too peeed

Well, we moved on a bit more and the time was around 10:30 PM and Amresh was hungry so we stopped by a small dhaba..

These pics are not edited as it was already quite dark.. editing them will make it worse

well, now the time was somewhere around 11:45 and we started from the place.. and Shimla was still 60 kms away.. so we had to travel at a better pace...

we suddenly remembered the Pokhara Trip goosebumps and we thought we shud not take risk during night so we started looking out for hotels late at 12 AM.. it was pitch dark.. and we stopped by a hotel.. it seemed to be closed.. and just before we moved.. we saw some body lying and that freaked us out.. we revived our heartbeats only after coming to know that its guy who is just sleeping.. ufff.. Scared the shit out of us..

well, there it goes.. again with goosebumps.. we decided not to look for hotels here as no hotels were open and going slow just slowed down our pace..

so we kept riding at 60kmph speed and at one point of time.. Amresh suddenly stopped and when Manoj went and asked why he stopped.. Amresh said You called me and said Rukh Rukh Rukh.. Manoj was like no ways.. I never called.. he assumed it was something running in his mind..

so we continued..

I had a feeling that my bike slid on every curves which again made me freak out.. every curve i take a turn, my rear tire seemed to skid like anything.. not sure why or what the problem was.

we still continued without stopping and again, suddenly Amresh stopped the bike and when asked.. he said the same thing.. Manoj called me and said Rukh 3 times..

Manoj again got scared saying I never called you mate.. we didn't know what was happening.. but we continued further... Amresh's bike came to reserve and he wanted to fill up fuel for his bike so we were on a look out for fuel station..

we found one on the right hand side.. and Amresh parked his bike behind a truck just opposite to the fuel station.. and we stopped too..

Amresh said I will fill up fuel from here and then we will move on.. Shimla is just another 15 kms away and the time was somewhere around 1 AM.. just when Amresh was about to cross the road.. (Idiot didn't even care to see the road before crossing) Manoj and I noticed a truck coming very fast on the opposite side.. this Time.. Manoj shouted "Amresh. Rukh Rukh Rukh" Amresh stopped and the truck just passed by leaving a gap of about one foot.. we were scared to the core..

Amresh was like did you call me.. Manoj said yes you A**Hole.. Why the F*** don't you look on both the sides before crossing..

Then Amresh said. Bhai.. this is the same tone I heard 2 times before.. This shit freaked us out more.. Seriously.. it seemed as if someone was trying to warm Amresh well before this incident took place..

We took a 5 mins break in the fuel station with fast heart beats...

Amresh Filled up his fuel tank.. Now we were ready to leave and I started my bike and the Speedo console Goes Blank.. I was like WTF?? I just changed my battery after the Nepal trip (of course I was using Projector) and the battery died.. had to push start the bike and keep my headlights turned off.. somehow we managed to make it to Shimla at 1:30 Am and got the room..

One Crazy ride from Noida... One heck of a night travel once again scaring the guts out of us.. we had 2 rooms in a single room.. Manoj usually prefers to sleep alone.. but when we discussed all that happened during the ride.. Manoj decided not to sleep alone in that room and came the hall and slept along with us after joining the 2 beds...

Some spirit was guiding us this time for sure..

Manoj always says.. Mountains are very peaceful at night.. but their characteristic is completely different at night from day.. which seemed true to me at that point of time... we couldn't sleep till it was around 2:30 AM...
