  • [Photo Feature]: an unfinished off roading trip to rose hills completed on our impulse after one year

rd 2013 i decided out of the blue to have a go on 4th

    [/IMG]

    break fast break at punalur

    entry to rose hills

The real ride starts from here

clear water is dangerously deceptive. the depth is well hidden with pits which can be more than a meter deep. to check first and then cross your bike has to be the rule else you pay the price like i did the last time.

our impulse just below the hill top

there is a temple on top but no habitatation. pooja is done by locals early morning and evening.

when we were on top we were alone with no soul in sight. then we heard the shrill trumpet cry of a wild elephant in the forest. it was bone chilling as we had to go back the same way. my better half kept her cool. but we hurried back.

her smile says it all we have crossed the water body intact

he saved us last time in his rickety jeep. now one year later we were happy and lucky to meet him. this time with a brand new keep. Shri.Radhakrishnan. a local.

posing for a self timed shot some where in the middle of the forest

finally we come back where we have started in one piece

Back on normal roads for our 100 kms return ride to thiruvananthapuram

lunch break at green lizard hotel written in malayalam

now lunch over at a crazy joint it is another 85 kms ride back to thiruvananthapuram

for all of you reading this. for us photography was sort of secondary. so no photos were taken especially to highlight the difficulty of the route or the ride. and i had to complete the ride simply because i failed last time. probably it may not be a difficult ride for many of you. for me yes it was. but i can assure you it is no cake walk as on date of writing this. i am yet to get any thing much written about this hills esp on a bike. But it is an enjoyable ride with the right bike. hope to see some one else do it and share their side of the strory. till such time.......
