Incredible pictures. The mighty Himalayas as usual astound us all and those Comets look really good!
Every Motorcycle has a tale to be told and there is no greater privilage in the life of a rider than to have truly understood what his Motorcycle stands to tell. Some of the greatest stories in the world are not written, they are experienced.

Wonderful trip and trip log. Awesome pictures and an excellent experience.
Its a pity that the beautiful state of J&K is now being encroached and we would probably stand no chance of seeing these places forever.
          Regards,
          Venky

Its quite a long time ago, actually about 5 YEARS ago that his happened.
Till date its been the best trip of my life!!
In Many ways its been a First and thus left deep impressions in My Heart and Sole.

Every time I sat to write this log I haven't been able to get past the Crazy incidents that happened right at the beginning of the trip. I hope Will cross that and log the log this time.

I believe this story needs to be told before I forget most of it, especially as China is now encroaching most places that we visited. Also during my 2012 visit in the Jeep I was not allowed or Issued Permits to go to Many of these places that we did in 2008, thus both the above have inspired me to write the log Now.

We Rode from Chandighar to Himalayas & back to Ambala in 17 days from 18th July to 3rd August 2008 for about 2500 kms

                  Highlights of trip as below
Excellent Team and luxury of a backup vehicle always.

For the First time I saw the Himalayan range & the magical Awe struck view when clouds cleared on the other side of Rothang Pass towards Keylong

For the First time Experienced AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) and co riders went BLIND momentary, we also had Oxygen administered to us in Military camps at Barlach La
                  No Pics!!

Sink my Motorcycle in deep sand till the Tank level in Moyar planes

Met some of the warmest and most hospitable people in Leh Regzin Sir

Saw partially frozen lakes like Suraj tal and smaller ponds

Found Frozen carpus that's preserved in a Desert refrigerator near MarsMic La

Meditated and felt the close connection High up the mountain at more than 16000 feet

Were Chased by Cops, who threatened to call the Military too

Saw Chines White camp & our Green camps at Chushul

Saw the Pangong in all ist glory & stayed for a Night there too

Experienced Wifi & Internet in Wilderness middle of nowhere @ Hanley, saw the 2 meter wide telescope lens at world's highest observatory

Witnessed remains of a Witch and her cut hands hanging at Chumar Monastery

Were caught unprepared between two water streams and forced to camp out for the night by Pagal Nala

Magical night vision on a No moon with complete visibility as far as the eye could see, Earth was lit by a Zilion stars in the sky between Chumar & Mahe Bridge.
                  No Pic.

                  Cheers
                  Sunil
