Re: RISHIKESH - A Vivid Break To Clockwork Life and Painful Heat
Although my 3rd short outstation ride, but writing down my experience for the first time so any mistakes or poor English please bare with it.
Day 1
Plan was to get on the saddles and move at 2.a.m but obviously there were be some late comers (this time as usual it was again me) we all gathered at meeting point at 3.am and were rolling after a brief discussion of group riding and signals.
Road till Meerut was full of speedy trucks which made our BIG bikes look too small, they created lots of problems.
Finally somehow we managed to get out of that mess and after 100 odd km of riding we took our 1st stop at mcd where we were the eye catchers as 11 bikes with luggage on them and bikers with gears were surprise for everyone.
After few clicks and breakfast (which was not good at all) we were again riding this time with increased speed as it was morning time and light was also good.
And then suddenly omid’s pulsar 220 front wheel leaked air due to speeding on large potholes (it was his first experience like this) . this took much of our time in fixing it. And then after crossing haridwar’s traffic then came the majestic 24 km of hills till our camp.
All the sleepiness ,fatigue was gone in seconds . our own Rossi aka T- Bone aka Shekhar ,ankush and me were enjoying those beautiful curves.it was my first and best session of hills.
Then after riding part came our turn to reach our camp and some water sports(second best sport after riding). This was the best way to beat the heat of delhi. Body surfing swimming rafting clif jumping photo session everything was fun. if something was still to be done it was time for beer with the cold water of Ganges and sleeping under the stars in open sky.
Day two still to come
And I was there with no cameras so my friends please start the pics coming Although my 3rd short outstation ride, but writing down my experience for the first time so any mistakes or poor English please bare with it.

Re: RISHIKESH - A Vivid Break To Clockwork Life and Painful Heat
So....finally the weekend is here and I can begin with my input about the ride. My log as usual is going to be divided in parts. Without boring you people, let me begin my story

PROLOGUE
This was my third ride with Falcor( my bike) since I got her with the same bunch of people as the last time aka Prateek, Shekhar, Ankush & Pawan. There were some addition to the group aka Carlton, Omid, Sneh & Biraj...these people are expert riders but it was the first time we rode together. Lakshit & Prashant were lucky enough to get permission for a overnite ride.
Seems like destiny wants me to ride when I am exhausted. Like, the previous two rides, I had to join the ride straight from office. Anyways, as obvious we got late from our starting point itself. The credit goes to Lakshit. We all met at Mohannagar waiting for Lakshit. He joined us sometime after and finally we begun the ride at 3 am. The rest ..... would come up in due time...

Re: RISHIKESH - A Vivid Break To Clockwork Life and Painful Heat
Day 1 : New Delhi to Rishikesh
According to our living place, we decided to meet at Mohan nagar at 2am. Me, Ankush, Carlton,Pawan & Shekhar were to start from Shekhar's place. Pawan reached noida earlier. Me, Carlton nd Ankush reached Shekhar's place by 12:30 am. We relaxed a little and prepped for the ride. We started by 1:45am from Shekhar's house. Biraj met us on the way and we found Prateek and Omid at the meeting point. Sometime later Sneh arrived and then our late latif Lakshit with Prashant. This completed the group. We were all ready to burn rubber.
Before the ride began, Prateek got the consent form signed and a small session on formation, riding ettiquettes and signals. Finally we began the ride at 2:45 am. After we crossed a normal highway traffic full of trucks, roads were open and smooth so that we could do good speeds. In no time, we reached Meerut. I was damn exhausted after a hectic day @ work but this ride freshened me up.
Our first stop was McDonalds(don't remember the place). We had our breakfast there. One thing that's certain is that the quality was not upto McDonald's standards. As usual we were the centre of attraction for the other people. People clicking pictures, asking us whether we are racers etc. After a brief halt, we resumed our ride. We were doing good speed and travelled good distance. Then we had to take an unplanned break near Rampur when Omid's P220's front tyre lost all air due to bent alloy. We got a tube fitted in the tyre. Had some tea and resumed the ride. After some riding, we saw the hills starting. Most of us were exhausted because of the heat but the exhaustion vanished when hills were in the view.
Then began what we love to do the best - cornering. Needless to say, Shekhar and Prateek grabbed this oppertunities with open arms. Rest of us also enjoyed. After riding for another 24 kms, we reached our destination, our camping site.
This concludes the one way ride to Rishikesh. The next installment would come up soon.
This pic was from the break we took when Omid's bike broke down.

Re: RISHIKESH - A Vivid Break To Clockwork Life and Painful Heat
Day 2 : Fun in Rishikesh
We did reach our destination...and compared to the previous two rides, we covered the distance in good time. We were already exhausted till the foothill...the corners did pump some adrenaline in all of us but when we finally stopped, I felt like going to sleep.
Ever since I have been living in Delhi, I have heard people boasting about having fun in Rishikesh...always yearned to have the same fun....and here I was. Now it was my turn to have fun in Rishikesh. Our camp was located on the other side of the river Ganges and we had to cross the river on a raft. Since childhood I had this fear of shallow water but somehow that day excitement took over fear. The current of the water looked normal but when we reached the middle of the river was when I felt the current as well as the fear.
We all reached our allocated camps, dumped our belongings, changed our clothes and jumped into the Ganges to counter the heat and my god .....the water was so cold, it was amazing. The water was so cold I did not feel like coming out of it. For the next couple of hours, we all became so childish, we jumping around in water, throwing each other here n there and all sorts of pranks and masti. We were so much into enjoyment, we didn't realise it was lunch time. We had our lunch. The food was ok types. Then it was time for rafting. Our group of 11 people was divided in two groups. The guide took a small session of do's & don'ts during in water.
At first, it seemed very enjoyable but when I came across the first rapid, my heartbeat increased due to fear from water. After the first rapid went by I calmed down and relaxed. Now at every rapid I had mixed emotions, one was of excitement and the other one of fear. The 24 kms of rafting was sheer fun. I enjoyed a lot. Then we did some cliff jumping. Though not too much height but for a person like me who had fear of water, it was great fun. After the rafting session, we all were tired. Now it was time to sit at the banks of river ganges and enjoy some beer. We had dinner. Then all of us slept outside the tents under the open sky. The sky never seemed so beautiful. Shekhar was narrating some ghost story when I dozed off due to exhaustion.
Thus day 2 also came to an end. It was one day which I would remember having loads of fun with freinds.

Re: RISHIKESH - A Vivid Break To Clockwork Life and Painful Heat
The Story - My Share...
Its been a long long time since i came online. I will not make up any excuses that I couldn't get time to be, But it was mere fact that i just didn't. Amongst all of us people succumbed to their busy lives there was a group of few close friends who called themselves "The BKC" group, coming from different backgrounds yet so similar (wherever motorcycles are concerned). They had it all, the fatties, the skinny's, the think tanks the dumb cranks, the happy the angry (I better stop now before they get bored).
In the due course of time as great friends they became tired from the ups and downs of life a much needed break was in conversations. After an exhaustive provocation at the "BKC Panchayat" (What we called our so called general Meeting) a final decision was made for a weekend getaway to the ever happening land of Rishikesh. (Bam Bam Bhole...thank god they all agreed). A few days on arranging the accommodation and best packages, the ride was final to set off comprising of 11 riders 11 motorcycles and one hell of a "lets do it" attitude.
The ride was exciting, from tasting dust flown off trucks to the first stop at Mc Donalds enroute. From The look on the people's eyes oogling at all of us to young girls posing on our motorcycles while we watch from the inside of Mc.D's. From those witty one liners poking each others gut to the cheesy clicks, we did it all. Everybody enjoyed, lived the moment we all had earned ourselves. Arriving at Marine Drive (Our destination at rishikesh) was pure bliss. Everybody was exhausted due to the hot weather and thanks to our riding gear which added a little more enthusiasm to our hurried efforts to take them off. Parked our bikes, rafted our way to the tents and what happened next was the most exiting time in all of our lives. We all hurried our way to the waters, cold and spine chilling it was, hosts of photo sessions and somersaults by all of us. The game of throwing mud was eeky and the best part was when I got buried in the sand. :-P and not to forget the "Gangnam style" dance on the river Ganges was highly.....appreciable!
Day 1 was exhilarating and more time we spent on the chilling water the more we enjoyed. After lunch we all set off for our rafting session and since there were 11 of us, the group was divided in 5-6 on two rafts. The one in which I was, there were Prateek , Omid, Prashant, Pawan, and Ankush along with me and carlton, lakshit, sneh, siddhartha, and Biraj were on the other. The most amazing time we all had, those 26 kms was the most memorable on our trip. Cliff jumping was tremendous even our very own prat bob tried after getting an encouraging "shout" from us. The session got over just a little further from shivpuri where we set for a drive back to our camps. By the time we reached, all of us were dead tired and it was dawn. Retired at our camps and it was the time to pop some bottle caps and rejuvenate. A session of cool talks and drinks along the beach side went nice followed by dinner and we all put our beds outside the tents lined up together to crash for the night. Chit chats, teases were throughout the day made a small break seem like a big one.
Day 2 began with the morning tea (not with lakshit :-P, he was in a different mood) and some click of the area around us. Magnificent as it was the view early in the morning was indeed refreshing. Prashant and I decided to hop back to the waters along with lakshit before we got back home while others played volley ball and did some "sight seeing" (If you know what I mean :-P), breakfast was done with and we all started to pack our bags and get ready for the ride back home. All of us Bid adieu to the magical place and we rode back. An absolute delight it was to see the people's reactions, starring at us, riding in formation through the twisties of rishikesh. Some waved, some surprised in shock and awe some showed a frowned face while the kids smiled and waved us bye going along with their family in cars. A tiring off-road session followed at merrut which got all of us separated. Even then we all managed to conquer along with the awesome traffic and weird reactions from other two-wheeler riders.
All in all even though it wasn't a very big ride, nor what we did was anything new but the memory of doing it all together was the most fondly. At the end of the day when we all got back to our homes, A smile and a sense of satisfaction cemented in all of our hearts. We all were happy to be back and happiest to have been accomplishing of doing it all.
It was yet another most memorable trip of my life. Hope you all like the write up. I couldn't elucidate all in full though, as this was all what I felt, and moreover you guys have already done the full trip log. :-P
So, my best of wishes to the BKC people and hearty thanks to all for making this happen.

Re: RISHIKESH - A Vivid Break To Clockwork Life and Painful Heat
Day 3 : The return journey
This day didn't have much in store for us apart from the downhill corners. When I woke in morning, I found the weather to be pleasant enough. No sun, clouds covering the sky, awesome ambience - a perfect Sunday. All of us had tea and some photography was on nature, potrait etc. After the breakfast it was time for us to packup. There was another surprise in store for the onlookers. We, the bikers wore our biking helmets while crossing the river on the raft. People cheered us this being a very unusual sight.
Once across the river, it was time to packup our stuff and begin the return journey. The first phase of the journey included taking on the corners again, so most of us went in for a tyre warmup run while others were getting ready. Finally, the journey back home began. Needless to say, all of us exploited the twisties.
We took our first break out side Rishikesh and before Haridwar. To have some much needed " ganne ka juice ". We saw a couple of riders on BMW 1200GS( I think) on the way. We noticed the same guys in rishikesh when we were waiting for the raft to take us across the river. Pawan went ahead and spoke to the foreigners and found that those guys were from Australian military and were doing a pan India ride.
We continued our ride back through the city tackling the heavy traffic. Our next stop was at Dominos for lunch. Then our journey continued racing away at open stretches and slowing down in traffic. We were doing good speeds and reached Meerut by 7pm. Then the excessive traffic conditions of Meerut made us go off-road. After a grilling offroading session through the dust we finally reached Mohannagar where all were to go separate ways. We all said goodbyes to each other and headed back home.
Here ends my input about the Rishikesh trip. It was a great weekend. Adventure mixed with the fun of riding. Regarding the pics, since it was a fun trip, not many were clicked. But would request all who clicked to post there pictures.
