The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

                    Thanks mg..

Some info about the place : This house is located in middle of the forest. As the weather there is cold government provides the ppl there with tech to grow rubber.. Along with rubber they grow various spices like pepper,All spice ( This spice is a unique one its a leaf which has all flavors in it ) ,cardamom etc ... I have visited this place 3-4 times during rains and its a good place for adventure...

                    Okay.. back to the log..

The place gets dark at around 6pm itself and at 7 its like as if its 10 in the night.. The water flowing in the streams can be heard 24 hours .. and at nights the place looks scarry .. it gets quite dark ...

Few pics with the head lights on

                    Day 2..

Disaster ... My hand was hurting early morning it was ice cold .. and coudnt tell any one or else would have to listen to lectures so got up brushed and had bfast ... The plan was to get up early and head towards a friends towards kavu puttur this place which is again a paradise (40kms from this place ) and then from there go to mangalore.. As i was not in a mood to go and dint want to break my left hand i decided to stay there for the day... After breakfast one of the workers son guided me around. we headed towards the the bridge and then went to the rubber plantations .

This guy guided me around... He knows many place in and out in the forest...

                    Rubber process...

                    Collecting rubber

The collected liquid is then mixed with some acid and is kept for a day .

After the rubber goes hard its rolled into sheets

                    Then its sun dried

                    Then baked in a oven

                    After is baked .

These sheets are brought by the government and vendors. And everything related to rubber is made for that sheet.. Tyre , shoes etc etc...

So by now camera batteries drained and the cell phone was dead... so no pics after that...

Here are a few pics from my last trip during rains. You guys should get an idea how the place is ..

This stream is near the house.. It make noise 24 hours and at nights its really scary...

bloody leach ... During rains there are a million leaches every where .. trust me million....

                    After taking them off..

More stuff and details to come...

Awesome thread! It not only showcases your ride, but also shows us a glimpse of wildlife, the vanilla plant, how rubber is produced and how to cross a bare-basic 'bridge' on the R15!

Well done Navnish; more so for doing it solo.

This is one the best biking trips that I have ever read in India. Totally surreal. Reminds me of the serial 'Malgudi Days', of Kerela of what not!

                          Hats off!

Thanks Sunny . I never thought i will ever go there as the place is just deserted no one to even guide a person how to go.. If you are lost you are dead.. I had got co-ordinates of each and every corner/turn into my cellphone so that i don't get lost there.

Guys lets plan up to ride in a group.. Small group will be preferred . Its a unique experience all together...
