A moving bus creates a partially empty pocket of air just behind it. This pocket is a low pressure zone. Any water/grime/dust displaced by the bus tyres get sucked into this low pressure air pocket as if it was a vacuum. Hence the phenomena that you are seeing.

This is the same reason why smaller vehicles can "draft" behind larger vehicles like buses, also the same reason which causes air drag on vehicles causing them to slow down or lose fuel efficiency.

A little late to check this thread but finally, did it and i should say, man, u are making me jealous.

Make some quick plans bro and lets go for a ride soon. By the way, nice photos out there. People say that real beauty of Karnataka comes out in the monsoons, and i can see that beauty, through your photos.

Hey Divyasharan,

This ride of your reminds me of my route from Bangalore to Murudeshwar. Some pics of your bikes clicked on Jog falls made me nostalgic. Nice ride report!!! Great work with the pics as well!!! I stayed in RNS highway hotel too. great VFM!!
