      UPDATE

      The Lazy Start:
      The plan was to start at 0500 hrs, but as habit has it… I kept working till 0400 or 0430ish…
      So I was early right? Yay! leave 30 mins before time is a nice option… can finally break the jinx.
      BUT, with eyes sore, sleepy and tired body if I were to leave then, I would be pretty much inviting a certain full stop to my life and more worse probably be a threat to someone else’s too.
      Something I didnt want to do; especially since I’ll have to travel through some inhabited areas first.

      Took a nap for 4 hrs.. woke up at 0900 or rather was kicked to wake up by friend ‘Yaseen’(in pic below.. camera shy), we had breakfast and then in military drill style he threw me out of my house to stop procrastinating and drive off.
      With the rev of engine.. the journey started…

        On and Off Excitement

        On taking the service road to reach NH-9, about 60 kms this road teases you by showing a super straight stretch of empty, tempting speedup .. and as soon as you speed up, there are these nasty nasty speedbrakers, set of 3, set of 6, set of 8 and 16s also.

        Face turns from wide grin to curved frown in no time and goes in a loop till you reach NH-9

            Spy Pics – New scooter being tested

            Spotted some “to-be launched” (or probably already launched by the time I write this blog) scooters being tested. TVS? Anyone knows which ones these are?
            I didn’t bother to go take a peek, respecting their privacy.. just a feed from my action cam.

            I kept overtaking quite some of these guys while on NH-9.. all same zebra taped scooters with yellow lids.
            One or two were stare-driving at me to as if I was testing a bike too

            16 speed brakers were too bad-ass to be captured in pic

            Hate them.. went over them even today during short drive

                CrossWinds vs Tai-Chi

                After the initial town traffic, and reaching smooth highway stretches.. it was time to battle it out with strong crosswinds. The first wave that took me by surprise simply put me in a different lane and I felt from front come up slightly.. I was doing ~120kmph then.

                  Bikes don't leak oil,
                  They mark their Territory.

                  Bajaj Boxer -> 2003 - till date
                  Bajaj Avenger -> 2011 - till date
                  More to be added :-)

                      Highway Run

                      Once cross-winds went down, it was time to twist down for more gas and revv past a lot, lot and a lot of vehicles on the super straight highways.
                      This is why tourers love the seemingly un-ending straight highways, it lets you max out your bike
                      I pretty much held steady at 139-143 range for quite some time.
                      Bike was perfectly planted and no unusual vibrations or loss of control... and still 500rpm of max unused.

                      My Tail Bag thinks it can ride the bike

                      One very common trouble I had with the tailbag was sliding forward into my seat. Almost every bump later, I’d have to push it back with my rear Looked weird on the highway.
                      It could have been a bit better, but thanks to my OCD, I used additional nylon ropes when those bungees would have been enough. That created a imbalance in tensile strength and it kept sliding forward.

                      However, while returning back I used only the bungees and it was a bit better.

                            First mini disappointment… no flowing rivers. Isn’t this monsoon?
                            This is just sad :/ I started this tour to enjoy monsoons and look at amazing rivers.. not a drop of rain yet.. and not a flowing river in sight. Not even a stream yet

                            I thought Hyderabad was notorious for doing this, but as I took off again on my journey and making my way through Vijayawada to get onto the highway again… damn watch that driving and jumping red. So common. :/
                            Jumping red. When will we learn to NOT do that!
