So 700 kms of national highway, 6 riders and their monsters...

Had to cover as much as we can for the day, two probable options, either ride hard throughout the journey, stretch till late night and reach Udaipur or ride till the evening and have stay in Godhra/Halol for the 15th night.

      Enough thinking, lets ride ...

Task was not easy and time was running against, Joined NH8 after crossing the Ghodbandar. Although the tarmac of the NH8 was tempting, everyone kept their patience in order to get use to it and traffic around in order to avoid any incident.

Crossed Vasai catching up some speeds, after some distance some big curvy patch of 4 lanes surrounded with full of greenery and hills around, beautiful it was. Corners were letting us sail through at speeds of 110-120kmph, it was just wow riding through this patch.

Energy and excitement levels are coming back to full level, hunger for speed was rising and NH8 had everything that can satisfy every riders fast and curvy needs :P

      R15 moment ...

Puspal was riding with his blue R15 V1 in the right lane and I was on my blue V1 just few feet behind in the left lane, both of us must be doing 110-120kmph. I manage to cover up the gap by increasing the speed by a bit, now we were riding parallel.
A big corner ahead slowly coming to our sight, road was broad enough and curve was big, we continued doing the speeds rather increased a little and the epic scene, two blue R15 V1's, riding parallel to each other enters the corner, cruising through the curve doing 120+ and now exiting together doing equal speeds........ what a sight it was, awesome experience . I wish someone would have captured the two blue monsters in action...

This patch of journey kind of recharged every rider in order to keep their spirit through the rest of the journey.

Took a halt after doing approx 150kms.

Bro, certain parts of the narration are not clear especially the mishap & dotted pic (Bad chapter). Also, I find some missing links here & there. Either you're building up the suspense till the end like hollywood movies or planning for some masala ahead like bollywood movies. Which one is it? - I wait & watch.

Hmm I understand, but that's how I thought it should be. Whatever happened was not good and writing everything wont be of any use, on the contrary guys didn't wanted to hide it. We were fortunate that Rider and his ride was safe and we were able to complete this ride.
There is no suspense build up or a story cooking for the end, I am just trying to express our experiences of this ride

                      Re: Venice of the east...

Monster riding on 6 lanes of NH-8...

350 odd kms we had covered so far , time 2.30 pm and just 550 kms more...

After the 15 mins break had a quick stop for the fuel top-up. Now we were riding on the 6 lane road in Gujarat and we all knew that this is the patch which gonna clear-up our timing backlogs and increase our hope for hitting Udaipur on the same day.

6 lane highway, straight, moderate traffic and surprisingly very very well behaved vehicles. Be it a trailer, container, truck or car, every one was riding safe and mannered and at decent speeds. This was some thing very different than scenes we see on NH4. We were not use to it

In-spite of having 6 lanes vehicles hardly doing any lane switch, driving in one line , giving sides with little press of horn.

                      Video game experience...

Everyone started pushing picking faster lanes, switching lanes in-between of-course with proper signaling. Road was broad as well as straight enough and traffic was so well behaved
that shifting from lane 1 to lane 3 was super easy and confident, there was no need to follow a vehicle in your lane if it is driving slow, just shift to the next lane rip ahead. The experience was no different than playing a video game, the road rash to be more specific only difference here was traffic was with us and no kicking other riders in the way . I would say though it was a mad riding it still was a safe riding. Thanks to the traffic . Wind blast was the only thing against us.

All of us were surprised to see how Kaushik was managing to keep up with speeds of the R15's and Ninja on his FZ-s that too with the upright seating position. Hats off to him from everyone...

After 150 kms of blast decided to take halt for lunch, time 4 pm, lunch time was passed long ago though.
Initially decided to eat something light and ended up with 6 plate Sabji and countless butter Roties . It was natural coz last time we had something was at 9.30 in the morning, every one was hungry.

Had a mixed argument on riding till late night and stopping after doing some more distance. Conclusion came to ride till 7:30-8 pm and take a halt, sadly .

5.15 pm it was when we mounted the luggage back on our bikes.

Ride continues doing some good speeds, finding way through increasing traffic and traffic jams. Time was running quick. :|

I took over the lead, left the NH8 by taking a right turn which was next to Sayajipura, Vadodara-Halol highway began. It was getting dark and there were rough patches. Slowing down a bit we continued. Darkness was increased, no lights on road
. I was ahead and was literally unable to see anything ahed. Puspal's HID were doing superb job, road side by side for some distance and then asked him to take over the lead. Had crossed a Hotel name Sarvottam 8-10 kms ago and it looked good from the road.

Took a halt after some time, discussed and decided to stay in Halol for that night, time must be approx 7:30 pm. Viper found contact details for the hotel Sarvottam, contacted, rates felt reasonable, road back to the hotel. Parked the bikes and came to see the room. A very new, 3 star kind of hotel and they offered a room for 5 guys for Rs 2400/- with complementary breakfast. Booked two rooms renting Rs 1500/- each and Rs 300/- for extra person. Best deal it was considering kind of hospitality and facilities offered.

Unloaded the luggage, checked in. Ungeared ourselves, took showers, got relaxed. Had dinner while sharing the experiences through out the day and slept.

                      Viper and his gadgets...

                        Day 2: Udaipur Calling...

Guys woke up in the morning by 6:30, I was still sleeping when everyone had already started getting ready, I remember Pushpal woke me up. Got ready and went upstairs, some awesome breakfast items including Paratha's, Sandwiches, Idli, milk/coffee/tea was waiting for us

Checked out of the hotel by 7:45 am and mounted the luggage and got our bikes ready by 8 am.

It was cloudy, ride resumed, perfect whether for biking.
Traffic-less highway under our wheels and clouds above heads. After 2-3 kms of riding we had a rain. Had a fun riding in the rain on the empty highway.

Soon came the Godhra, stopped for regrouping. Looking all of us standing, one of the motorcyclist stopped by and asked whether we have any issues. Helped us with the further directions and just before leaving he asked whether we are on some mission or something, with doubtful expressions :| . We didn't knew whether to laugh or not . Told him we are on a tour and thanked him, he left :/.

Bypassed Godhra town by taking a right just before the hotel Trupti which was 4-5 km before Godhra.

Crossed Lunawada, Modasa then Samalaji. Took a halt at one of the toll plaza.

It was a mad run in Gujrat. Highways were smooth like butter. Were passing through city but after Godhra it was two lane road. Very less crowded, small villages & scenic beauty was awesome.

                              Almost there...

After the 15-20 minutes of break and tea, the ride resumed. Rain had disappeared now and we were inching towards the destination .

We had joined NH8 again and it was a four lane with minimal traffic again. New thing we were experiencing was cows and donkeys hanging out in the middle of the highway :| . Our bikes were ripping at 110-120 and these guys sitting super-calm and peacefully on the road, no fear what's so ever.

At one of the curve Gaurav and my self were doing 100-110 kmph in the fast lane and suddenly group of 5-6 donkeys appear standing as if having some conference :| . I was in no position to signal Gaurav, somehow I managed to shift the lane followed by the Gaurav. We were like ohh shit, felt like we our-self doing donkey stuff by riding fast on the corner , but corner was tempting and any rider would have tried to jump in to it, so we did .

Another patch came where some festival going on and highway was completely filled with people and vehicles. No room for traffic, but still it was fun crossing this patch because i was seeing mix of Gujrathi and Rajasthani people in their traditional clothing at one place .

One more incident when Gaurav was riding ahead and one women crossed the road without looking left and right :|, this time he was doing 120+ and I was right behind :|

Well, continued to ride and after doing few more kilometers a huge sign board appears which brought smile on every riders face , it was Ratanpur and we were at the doorstep of the Rajashtan. We had no option but to take halt for the photo session.

We were entering the destination state, great feeling. One of the most evident difference we observed was the road tarmac compared to earlier roads , it was grey colored and super flat like a race track, awesome it was. After the photo session started again, very twisty road began and surprising thing was the greenery around. I mean our perception about the Rajasthan was like as soon as we enter slowly the greenery will disappear and we will see sandy stuff around, but the picture was very different.

Twisty road with amazing tarmac flowing through the green hills and lakes, very beautiful and pleasant part of the journey it was Only sad part was that it was filled with pot holes. They were present at regular intervals and stopping us doing god speeds.

We reached Udaipur city after doing 80-90 more kms. Called some of the hotels and picked hotel Saheli Garden which was in the heart of the city. Finding a way through traffic we reached hotel by 2 pm. It looked good from outside but didn't turn out very great from the inside :| . But more than half day was over and instead of wasting more time we decided to check in,booked two room costing 1400 each and 400 for extra person.
