Re: Pride & prejudice, the ladakh: The search for a biker within....
Day 03 – Through Desert to Gold –
Got up at 6 am Excited for Golden City Amritsar our next destination, it was a good 600 km that we have to cover today. Last two days were hectic but we managed it quite nicely, and there we are with third day to follow the same routine. Again packing took good one hour for us before we leave Kuchamaan City for Amritsar, this was all knew journey for me, as I haven’t ridden on this road before. Roads till Kuchamaan were a wide 4 lane highway with less traffic. Started cruising at 80-90 km/h enjoying the beautiful scene’s of Rajasthan, after riding for some 100 km we took a halt for breakfast on very remote village with very less population even though it was connected to highway. On resuming after having breakfast & tea, we found the road look similar through out the Rajasthan and it was never ending for us. It was boring to say least, but soon after some good 60-70 km we found some Wild Camel’s eating from trees. We went there to have a closer look of the Camel; it was a family with 1 male & female camel with there kid. We backed off as the camel’s been aggressive & was looking to charge on us. Waited there for some good 15-20 minutes clicked few pics & we were on saddle again to enter the whole new state where we never rode before, the Punjab. We Reached Amritsar around 8 pm & started searching for a hotel. Got a hotel exactly opposite to Golden Temple at 1600 bucks with AC & TV & blah blah. We were happy to get such a hotel right in front of Temple, Temple was visible from the window & it was merely a 100 meter distance from Temple to window. We had decided to keep Day 04 for Amristar IN & OUT, and bike servicing (if any) so were late to bed, it was an hour only & we heard a loud “boom” sound from the transformer near to our hotel which was the only source of electricity for us, What now? No electricity through out the night no Invertor back up. cursing the unknown & unseen power. Amritsar was the first city where we have decided to sleep for a long time & to rest before the actual journey begins, but nothing went the way we have planned as.
Faith that it's not always in your hands or things don't always go the way you planned, but you have to have faith that there is a plan for you, and you must follow your heart and believe in yourself no matter what.
Martina McBride
Day 04 - Amritsar IN & OUT –
The Day was reserved to Rest & to do sight seen of Amritsar City. We went to Wagha Border, Jaliyanwaala Baug & the beautiful Golden Temple. Let the pics do talking…
