The last Image in the previous post is that of Aramgargh junction. You can also see the P V Narasimha Rao Express high way behind those cranes, It seems that will be the largest flyover in India once it is finished. It starts near busy Mehdipatnam area in the city before it comes and joins this Bangalore highway little ahead of this junction.

Somemore images of the banglore high way.

      Air port

It was getting cooler and there was some fog in the air, Last time on these roads I was doing around 120+ with a pillion but now I am even not thinking of pushing ahead. So stopped my bike at the Airport sign and asked TM to take some snaps

First look at the Sun God, He is coming out of hiding

      Airport is Welcoming us.

Sun is begining to rise, Come on save us from the cold.

Then Time for Mr.Sun to drive away the cold and fog.

He is rising and the approach road to the airport is Good, A few cars zoomed past us as we were busy taking snaps while riding.

Into the sun I would say

That Bus is the Shuttle operated by GMR to the airport from different parts of the city.
The State owned RTC operates Metroliners, . But I then think RTC is for the daily commuters who work there., They surely cant afford Rs150 for one ride.

Some Greenery along with the road.....Pleasing.

So the Airport is visible.....well not because of the fog.

      ATC .....is it?

      Can you see the plane?

      First signs of our destination.

As it was still cool, We thought we will take a small break before the things improve, My Trip meter was reading 52KM and it
was around 7:00 AM. We stopped in front of the airport and took some images.

      Main Building

And then its Photo opportuinity for my Bike

      Lovely ambience

      Parked with Parking lights ON.
      To be continued...may be..

        After the airport

Then at around 7:30 AM we started from the Airport, the road was made by cutting through the mountains,it was a good scenery. Then we joined the actual Srisailam road which is a state highway. Then started picking up speed to around 75KMPH. It was my first trip on this road, but I felt the road is not worth the higher speeds. so we were maintaining between 70 and 80 KMPH. The road wasn't too smoother or we felt so after passing through the roads near the airport. But there were certainly some potholes, cracks in the road and whenever a village came we had to encounter the speed breakers. The milestones on the road were showing Ammengul prominently and it was around 40 to 45 KM after we entered the state highway. There were some cars and at times groups of two or three and some cars with Temporary registration numbers as we traveled through. We were passing the cars and some state RTC buses. Most of these buses were Blue in color and Express kind.
We passed through this not very big town of Ammengul at around 8:15 AM.After Ammengul the condition of the road seemed to improve and we increased our pace a bit and in the process we easily overtook an orange Hitech BUS,We track this bus through out our journey. After traveling some 10 to 15 minutes after Ammengul ,the road was straight and I thought it would be better to take a break. We stopped after seeing a culvert, My trip meter was reading 120KM.Then it was time to take some snaps.

It was a straight road with less traffic.

Those are the Blue Express Buses ,You will find a lot of them on this route.

Time to Notice the road side information. This is about 200 feet from where we were resting. It says Srisailam to the left and 133KM. That means we have done about half of our route.

As it was a straight road and then we have to take a left, which is like a Blind Turn, Most First timers were missing it.We would bet if the next one would turn or not, or will they overshoot at first. Then the Orange Hitech which we overtook a while back made its way through. I told my TM to take the pic of the bus but we missed it.then we took the below pic.

This intent was to take image of the Hitech bus coming in the opposite direction. But the truck spoiled the party. There were thankfully very few trucks on the route though.

            to me personally,

The most uncomfortable road for me, i was feeling that danger was lurking at each and every corner of the road, especially after kalwakurthy where the nallamala forests start off....

I remember a porcupine running on the road when i was doing 140....

Mother promise... will never do that road again....

After around 15 to 20 Minutes of rest, we get on the bike and start moving,It was around 9:00AM and I was starting to feel a bit hungry.I usually have my breakfast at around this time. The road after the left turn was smoother and was inviting for more speed. To we raised our speed to over 100KMPH.There were some flowing corners and I was enjoying the ride. Then there was a small junction, we turned left as another road joined from the right.
There were three APSRTC buses there which stopped to let the passengers have their Morning breakfast, there were two roadside hotels there.I initially stopped so that we could have our breakfast, but then there was a bit of crowd starting to gather near my Bike and asking some routine questions about the bike,And the hotels did not look appealing to me either, so we set off after taking some snaps.

This is the Orange Hitech I mentioned ,Our target is to kept pace with it.

This one is very similar to the other but it is making its trip from the opposite direction. Both were a that hotels for the passengers to have their breakfast.
After this place the road was still looking better and the milestones on the roadside were showing apart from Srisailam one Deverakonda, I have heard of that town before. After traveling for a while one has to take a Right turn to Srisailam. Then there is some town called Dindi, Out Trip meter was showing 155KM. It was around 9:30 AM. I see a Udipi Hotel,so its time to Breakfast. We casually have Idly ,which was OK, There were some fellow travelers at the hotel.I see a group of Bikers too. One Karizma,One CBZ Xtreme and other perhaps is a Pulsar. We review pictures in the camera. We make a decision that while returning we should cross the airport before it is dark. Now we ask the cashier about the distance to Srisailam and the timings at the temple. He said 108KM and that the temple would be open through out the day.
As we start I remember that Dindi has a reservoir,I actually read it in a blog the night before. So when we reach the reservoir on the other side of the town.We get down and take some snaps.

Water gushing out into a canal....lovely.

Then I take this from above the reservoir, one State RTC bus negotiating a narrow bridge. There wasn't a great amount of water in the reservoir. But look some fields are getting water on the sides of the canal.

                  to be Cntd.....

140? Which bike, you must have taken those speed breakers easy, or have you felt them at all?

I think you will not be allowed during night through the forest for the safety of the animals. It doesn't look that safe either.

He he he, There are very good stretches that are comfortable for poor indian bikes like Karizma, P220, and R-15.

After the Dindi Reservoir, The road was very straight and inviting for high speeds, But there were speed breakers whenever a village or a T-Junction came in. After maybe for 20-25KM there was again a left turn, Now there were some winding roads, at some places the corners were just blind But I was enjoying the ride,The R15 was taking those turns beautifully. We then overtook a Omni van in which some ppl were having fun on their way to Srisailam.,They would shout when ever we overtook them. There were some Sunflower fields on the way although most stretches were barren

Then after a while the road has become straight again, we could actually see a large straight stretch of road, We could also see the some mountains and thats what lie ahead of us... The Nalamala forests. I had heard about them a bit.....OK we will leave it here.

So it was time to stop and take some snaps

First look at the mountains,The road is straight and Good here.

Straight road but see its condition

Even other people stopped to take a break before embarking the Mountains.

Hi Hi State RTC bus just coming out of the mountains.

Then another descending the mountains. And after that right turn will be the mountain ride.

Probably my writing of the log has been too long, but shall finish the log. it will be helpful if some one plans to make the similar trip.
We were at the foothills of the mountain at around 1100Hrs and the milestones were indicating that Srisailam is about 50KM, So I thought it should take about an hour.

So after taking the right turn on to the mountains,A sense of excitement filled in as it would be my first ride in the mountains,But I learn my first lesson straight away....."Excise utmost caution especially while overtaking".I was about to overtake a RTC bus in my normal style, but then there was a sudden left turn on the climb and a jeep suddenly appeared in the opposite direction. No cause of big concern but I have taken the lesson.... Ghats require different and careful riding. Then after some climbing and twisting through the roads, the roads become flat again,Its the forest region, There are signs indicating that its a reserved region and Vehicles would not be allowed during nights, for the safety of animals.

Similar kind of boards are seen on the road side.

Here I think is a road which will take you deep into the forest.

This Image is a bit shaken, but this is the place from where you can start your Safari ride into the forest, They will take people in some kind on vehicles and it seems you can see some Tigers if you are lucky. No private vehicles are allowed on that path I understand.

We were content with the life sizedTiger statue there and continue our ride.
Now on there were few vehicles mostly, Ambassadors, Qualis, Sumos and kind..
Some where in between there is the Munnanur gate, where vehicles are stopped and checked,They stop the vehicles here during the Night I understand,There is a small town kind of thing, there is also a guest house and a hotel nearby.

We keep riding through the twisting roads, the road surface was good but there were turns ...turns and more turns and some speed breakers, After a while its time to take break again or so I thought.

This is how the roads look at most parts during this stretch. Can you spot something in the pic

                          Popular mode of transport

Monkeys ,There were a lot of them on the sides of the roads, Some probably brought their younger ones to show roads and humans

My Yummie also taking a well deserved break.

To be Cntd........but would like to see some replies.

@Kriss, try riding with xBhpians on that road. Not with the Super Bikers. If you still insist that this road is bad, let us do a Gutty - Bellary - Gutty once.
I promise, you will not be normal again. You'll change ur ID to Kriss_Saint or Kriss_Hyper

@Mike... appreciate ur effort with the log. Liking it.

                            good going.

After a few KM of travel through the reserve forest area , we start seeing the boards on the sides of the roads showing that some projects(irrigation/electric) are few meters to the side of the road. You know you are near and then then we finally see some water .

First look at river Krishna, it was looking like a lake to me.There was some construction going on on the banks.

Approaching the Dam. The Srisailam Dam is a major source of Hydel power for the state.

Complete look of the Srisailam Dam. Monstrous construction. It will be very beautiful to see the water gushing through the gates .Not the season for that now.
Some more pictures taken at the dam site

We also find the vehicles climbing the roads on the other side of the river.

Buildings must be related to power generation.

Thought of taking an image of self.
