Srisailam is on the other side of the river, a further 9-10KM from the dam site.
There is a bridge some meters downstream to the Dam, Vehicles are not allowed to cross over the Dam. So we have to climb down the mountains on one side of the river , cross the bridge and then start climbing on the other side of the river.

River Krishna between the mountains, The bridge is further down.

Thats the road on the other side.

The Orange Hitech bus is already on the other side of the river making the climb, So we are lagging it.
So it was around 1230Hrs and as we decided to reach Hyderabad before sunset, we decided to stop the photo session and get on with the travel. We got to the bottom of the mountains crossed the river and then started climbing again. The roads were a bit narrow and steep .Also they are for two way traffic. While climbing we could not resist bit take the below picture.

As I was parking my bike on the side of the roads near the gaurdrails, one person there started asking we we had something for a drink. weird .
Then on we reached the destination at around 1250Hrs and my bikes Odo showed 253KM.

Thats the temple at Srisailam and some people precisely visit this place for that. It seems it has one of the 12 Jyothirlingas in the world, Thats something out of my scope though.

Yes that camera would have given better pictures for sure. But the ride was great.

So finally will be finishing the log today.

After having a look at the temple, As usual I made a point to visit the Bus station and look at the connectivity the place is having with other parts of the State. The Bus station was not too great, and it was crowded. Then we went to the Hotel and it was crowded too. Finally had our Lunch..which was so so..... As per our earlier resolution we decided to start at least by 1400Hrs. It was around 1330 after the lunch and we decided that it would be better to rest the engine for a while.

At 1400Hrs we started heading back, Now as we were a bit familiar with the route and what to expect we were comfortable with the ride.
When we were at the dam site, there was a view point and I asked my TM to take some snaps.

If somebody would have allowed us to cross over the dam we would have cut about 30 minutes of travel.

Looks like there is a rope way ,I am not sure about it.But we have no time for now.

This is among the better pictures we have taken. This shows how tight the bends are and the gradient at each turn. The black Qualis seen in the image has troubled me a bit during the descent, against my nature I had slowed down and let it pass prior to taking this shot.It would again trouble on the other side of the river.

Unfortunately the above picture will be the last for this trip as my TM informed that his charge in the phone is ridiculously low and adding to the fact we have to reach back fast.

The return journey was all about riding with no break for the snaps. But on the other side of the river while climbing, It was difficult to pass, I was stuck behind black qualis which in turn was behind the Orange Hitech bus now making its return trip. After reaching the top the qualis fellow would somehow take a turn into a small road and a few metres later the Bus Driver probably thought it was safe to let me pass him and signals the same with the hand.thats the last time we would see that bus.

On the straits in the mountains I would even attack the speed breakers and it was looking a good option than slowing down. I would still be cautious at the corners.

We took one break,at around the same place which we had taken in the morning.

Then after descending the mountains, Its the time for the plains again.Just as we reached the plains I remember a group with two new higher end Bullets along with their friends in two more cars were on their way to Srisailam.

From now on I managed some good speeds, we were over 100K's mark most of the time. We kept on overtaking the Buses and cars one by one.The RTC drivers were good in giving the way at appropriate locations by means of hand signalling.I would also observe some drivers of other vehicles observe My R15 in their mirrors and let it through fairly easily. We took one break in the plains.

But there was only one violet swift Dzire which has genuinely overtaken us.Offcourse we would overtake it twice over. There was a Kid in that and probably his dad has put some pace to show him the bike again. or may be I thought.
We had not taken the Airport road this time.went straight into the old city area. We cut our route short by 20Km.But the roads were narrow and those parts of the city have horrible traffic conditions.

By the sunset we were into the city, and after a fuel stop at Habsiguda Shell, reached home at around 1940Hrs, The Tripmeter read 488KM.

Thanks for the Xbhpians who have patiently read the log. I am feeling relieved with the finishing of the log.

          In Summary.

          Total Distance: 488KM
          Bike: YAMAHA R15
Terrain: Plains and 50KM Ghat road section.
Road Conditions: Mostly Good. With some not so good stretches.
Traffic :RTC buses and other passenger vehicles. Not many trucks.
          Food: Not Bad, Managable.
Overall Experience: Great. But travel during the time when the Dam gates are open to capture great images.
