Re: Riding the GQ - Realizing my dream - more riding less pics

Day's plan was to leave Chennai around 2:00 AM & as I've done to Mumbai in 18 hours, I was expecting to be in Mumbai by around 08:00 PM

Waiting to Bangalore NICE road for Binoy to join

Stopped at Nelamangala for B'Fast, refueled as there's no fuel station until Davangere. The scenic between Davangere - Hubli - Dharwad is mesmerizing & this time I didn't want to miss taking the pics...

Then we took off towards Kholapur; we'd least expected the traffic to be so high due to weekend traffic & added trouble on construction; we also contributed to the delay without failing to enjoy the sunset amidst of the huge traffic jam; it was worth it!!!

All the reasons above made us reach Pune only by 08:30 PM (original plan failed!!!)

We met up with a good friend, trustvishwas Ji & enjoyed his hospitality at CCD, Chandni Chowk; bikers meet never ends in few minutes & by the time we looked out watch it was 11:45 PM!!!

We started of lazily towards Mumbai; enroute I was leading all the time; pic of bird eye view of Mumbai city from Lonavala...

Enroute reaching to Mumbai was a real pain; I started hallucinating as if a rabbit was crossing the road & I braked hard (don't ask me why rabbit); the height of it was I was trailing a truck & it took a few second for me to realize that there was no truck & I was only dreaming!!!

Couldn't take anymore, so I set alarm for 10 minutes, asked my friend to stay awake & slept for 10 minutes. Needless to say, I was recharged & started towards Mumbai charging. Reached Mumbai at 3:30 AM, stayed at a mutual friend's home (he was generous to accommodate us)

            Summary of day 1

            Apologies krishna77

            DAY TWO

By the time we woke up it was 8:00 AM of 03-Jun; by the time we had B'Fast & left, it was around 10:45 AM; fortunately there was less traffic on Western Express Highway towards Gujarat. We reached Manor, refueled it was around 11:15 AM. Our original plan was to reach Udaipur & I felt sleepy when riding slow, we decided to meet up at Surat

Had rode very hard & fast to reach around Surat by 01:48 PM; we'd refueled & then left towards Vadodara - Halol - Godhra & Shamlaji. We caught up each other at Shamlaji & knew we wouldn't be able to make to Udaipur that day.

We decided to stay at a place Rishabdev, which was 30 Km before Udaipur & decided to call a day.

Some pics after Sunset around Shamlaji, which is GJ-RJ border

Since we lost considerable amount of time on day 1 & we were unable to reach the target on day 2, there were very little pics.

                Day Three

After falling behind the schedule, we decided to make to Delhi by end of the day, at any cost.

We started around 4:30 AM from Rishabdev

Plan was to take Rishabdev - Udaipur Chittorgarh - Bhilwara - Kishengarh - Jaipur - Behror - Delhi

Right after taking Udaipur bypass towards Chittorgarh, I noticed strange wobbling with front wheel; being apprehensive of flat tire, we checked & found no possible reason for the air pressure to be less; we even thought if we were hallucinating & then decided to fill to brim at a nearby fuel station.

So after all this circus, we left Udaipur by almost 6:30 AM (ideally we lost about 30 minutes); then we kept a smooth & fast ride & the roads were amazingly cooperative with a very sparse traffic on the highway. Soon we reached Bhilwara interchange & thought it was a good time to take a small break

After this, about half hour later we had B'Fast at BPCL Ghar Dhaba at Chittorgarh & started riding towards Kishengarh; Kishengarh - Jaipur is one of the BEST & superb highway with 6 lanes & almost no traffic challenging even Autobahn in Germany!!! We covered Kishengarh - Jaipur in about 35 minutes or so to catch up with few good biking brotherhood friends Mr Anukraman & Mr Ramesh.

Soon after the meet (read soon = 1.5 hours ) we rode towards Behror; needless to say the condition of the road from Jaipur to National Capital is THE WORST part of GQ & hence the delay. Anyway, Behror around 4:30 PM ish, Manesar around 5:30 PM & by the time we were crossing Gurgaon express highway it was 6:15 PM.

Plan was to halt at Delhi, but then, we decided to continue as we weren't sure how much time we would loose next day & thought we would stay at HTDC (Haryana Tourism Development Corporation) Hodal, which is about 2 hours ride from Delhi. A well deserved rest at the end of the day...
