    Re: Hampi and Coastal Karnataka

    Day : 4
    Route : Udupi-Malpe-Udupi-Kaup-Mulki-Mudbidri-Belthangadi-Dharmasthala

It was very sunny morning and was hot as hell at 8 am in udupi. Reached Malpe at 8.30 am and i knew the boat timings for St.marry's island .
When i entered the beach The beach was almost empty. Enquired if they had stopped the boat ride to island . Since it was a weekday number of tourists visiting the island was very less. So the guy told if there are 10 people atleast he will take us there . It was a long wait of about 45 mins After which I was in the boat heading to St.Marry's island . I was super excited. I had visited Udupi many times before and even Malpe , but had not been to the island .

    At Malpe

    Island....
Boat struggling to leave the Shore . maybe the front of the boat was too heavy with me sitting in the front.lol

    PEACE

    Fishing boats returning home.

    Approaching land !

Entire Island surface was filled with this

Life under water as seen from above

    Spot the crab

I was standing on a slippery rock and all of a sudden a big tide came in . It was scary and at the same time exciting . one of the best moments.

I had about 1 hour to roam around the island and at 12.20(after 1 hour )had to return to the pick up point . This place exceeded my expectations. best time to visit the place is early in the morning as the number of tourists will be less. if you want to enjoy the place. Very peaceful it was and the Blue sea , what else can i ask for . Heaven!!!
I roamed about the entire island and got back in time to the pickup point. It will be a awesome place for photography during high tides. Just imagine the tides hitting those rocks !

Thats the one which brought me here.

    All set to race

By the time i returned, the Beach(Malpe) was filled with people. I wanted to get into the water but i was alone and it was already late.
I love Maple beach as its always like a carnival here and people just enjoy.

I Started to Kaup from Udupi by 2.15 pm.

    Kaup Beach

This trial leads to the beach

    Refreshments

After the Beach I had my lunch at Kaup itself and headed to Dharmasthala. Its the first time i had a Veg thali in a Bar and restaurant as i had to visit the temple later on . I found this hotel right at the Highway and was sick of the heat and decided to enter the place after seeing the board "AC dining hall" . Only after entering in i found it was a Bar and restaurant . Thankfully they had veg food.

Will finish this Tlog in my next post .
    Thank you.

      Re: Hampi and Coastal Karnataka

      Day : 4 (second half)
Roaming around the beaches was over and now it was time that i hit the curves . it was time fir the WG. By that time i had some good hold of the CBR and i was feeling confident of taking her around a corner . I had been through both KUdremukh and the karkala route to Dharmasthala and it was getting late . Both the mentioned factors made me select the Mudbidri route which was faster and nearest from Kaup beach. That route was in not so good condition but had some good corners and some really blind ones as well. Had some fun pushing the CBR a little and she was a lot of fun .

The day was coming to an end

Got a room in my regular stay in Dharmasthala , visited the temple and I was done for the day .

      Day : 5
      Route : Dharmasthala-Mudigere-Chikmagalur-Baba budangiri-Chikmagalur-Belur-Hassan-Magadi-HOME

I had planned to start as early as possible to chikmagalur and don't know how it happened but by the time i left the hotel it was around 10am. Had ma breakfast near Ujire and right after it was the ever Beautiful Charmadi ghats .

To my luck the entire Ghat was relaid and it was fresh tarmac , which was just too smooth .

Now it was time to visit my Favorite coffee shop in this world (mudigere)

The view around . (I include this route just to visit this coffee shop)

      Somewhere close to Chikmagalur

road under construction on top of the hill

Some stretch there was no sign of tarmac

After the hills it was the journey back home . I did not want to go back . I guess every biker feels the same during his last day of the trip. Had My lunch in a small hotel near Attigundi and headed towards Bangalore. Belur-Hassan Stretch always brings a smile on ma face every single time i go through that route and some great memories in that stretch as well. Now i had more power and i was not in any boundaries . Rode continuously from Attigundi till kunigal and stopped for the last butt break , which was the place of my first break as well. The view was just amazing and a cup of coffee made it better .

Thanks to Tribocor and some really dusty roads , this was how bad my CBR's rear looked . Got it washed from a service station as i coudnt imagine myself washing that much of dirt .lol

So my journey ended at 7:15pm on day 5 . It was the first long ride with my CBR and at the end of the trip was damn happy of making a right choice of getting this bike . comfortable and powerful is how i want to describe my beautiful bike.

Thank you all for reading my Tlog .
      Ride hard
      cheers
