twisties all the way to kodachadri Base via Kargal, Kodanavalli
Really bad / no roads shortcut to kittinahole via Gouri kere! only 10kms but enough to make you puke!, should take Sampekatte route.
bath dinner, Night sky watching and rest at Patalagere homestay very basic stay.

Day two concludes with lots and lots of twisties about 160kms of it and Bheja Fry on the beach.

    9th March
4:30 am wake up, by 5:15 enroute to climb kodachadri peak, 9kms climb to top done in 34 mins had to put my leg down 5 times!
parked bike at IB, climbed till top peak, experienced the sunrise amide clouds, sat in peace for a while in introspection, time spent here was really good and one should experience it. Half the joy came from getting out of the riding gear! the other half from cool breeze and sun rise atmosphere on the top.
Felt uncomfortable to see SO-MUCH litter on the top near shankaracharya's mediation point. Found a sack bag and started Collecting of waste plastic on the peak, lot's more was there, but could do only one sack, some trekkers who had camped there got inspired and said will do the same!
Dumped the sack full near a mining hole, started round two till the IB, again the sack was full but my back was hurting now from so much bend to pick, will a carry a pick stick from next time.
Learnt from the locals that they have not seen such a bike here, may be its the first KTM 390 to get to Kodachadri Top!, but then-again each day local m80's do it, even on rainy days!!
Rode down in 34 minutes, had to keep foot down twice, Man this place is challenging in summer, how will it be in Rainy session! need to get back with MT tyres in early monsoon.
Was feeling Happy visiting Shankaracharya, had bath, b-fast and ready to roll by 10:00 am via Nagara, HosaNagara to Shimoga
Lunch at Shimoga Ashoka, Neck pain due to wind blast on helmets post 101 kmph, multiple breaks to ease the same, pointing the front end of helmet down seems to help fight turbulence
Snacks at Tumkur and back home by 7:00 pm.

Day 3 was was a long one from 4:30 am to 7:00 pm all parts paining from offroading + windblast but Mind was fresh and rejuvenated!

Thanks to NFS for excellent company and missed all the old timers who were invited but couldn't make it due to various reasons.

PS: a small note on Duke! : a Jagirdar, Deshmukh, and Zamindar are closely equivalent to a Duke.

More pics from Dslr and goPro once Mac comes back to life, its tuck in a reboot loop now!

    Cheers
    Sunil

Nice to see a log from you guys after a long time. Some might think you have stopped biking otherwise

How was the riding comfort on the D390? And a little bit more on the real world review of the MRA windscreens please...

Thanks Sree, not see you for so so long man, Next time in BLR please schedule time for us mortals with you better half.
The 390 review from My side is pending but w.r.t comfort, @ 6.1" or even lesser height the folded knee position will give you a cramp on the knees
I have made alternate place for foot by helmet locks on the crash and structures on the bottom guard but still not very happy, need to find good solution.
Also the tank range at around 250 kms is kind of less other than that its a GEM.

                      Hi Praveen,

Its been almost a decade I guess since we met. you are in Pune right?
Yes No-mater which bike, jeep or car, love to see the tricolor flutter. but alas not allowed on the jeep and car. but legal on bikes!

Mine is a poor man's windshield @ 390 INR sir but NFS is really good, especially after he tilted the angle.
around 100 to 120 all the wind is deflected to the above neck region, wearing the helmet front pointing down seems to help.

I think > 100 to 120 is any way not advisable even on 4 lanes so its kind of natural speed limiter especially for extended periods like > an hour.

Hi phanikar Thanks yes nice to see old timers replying, on the same lines tried to catch-up with some folks last weekend
Akhil,PKM,Sumit couldn't make it, but Sridhar (HD 883), Santa (GT-650), @NFS, Myself and Murigsan (ZMA) met with MP sir (Custom Jeep), rode to Savana Durga climbed till top and rode back.

Always good to catch-up with good old folks.

Actually planning to have a thread with competition and even sponsored awards for bikers/jeepers cleaning-up where ever they visit, people will have to upload pics or videos and we can have winners every month.

                      Cheers
