Just flick the switch and twist my wrist
The beast comes alive, bringing me back to life

              Re: Tour De' South

I was eagerly waiting for your next post. You are moving to my town now. The Royal City of Mysore. Please do take the Masinagudi road. 36 hairpin curves which can heat up brakes very fast. I hope you see a lot of broken down cars by the side due to overheating. These roads are best enjoyed only on bikes and offers a lot of view points and if lucky maybe Indian Gaurs standing on the middle of the road and staring right at you.

                Re: Tour De' South

Left Dhanushkodi with a heavy heart as the dream to camp here did not came true...!!!

I just loved ridding on the ECR... Beautiful climate and not too hot weather...

While leaving Dhanushkodi we realized that my head light was burst...
We had left around 11:00 am and it was 300 kms through the ECR so we were sure that we would reach before it gets dark...!!!
On our entire trip we referred only to Google Maps (We had no choices as We could not understand what the people said one common thing which everyone said was... {some 5-10 mins conversations in south language and then one word "GO STRAIGHTAAAA...!!!" )
Anyways... Google Maps are sometimes too much accurate and we got a taste of it were the ECR road which is not yet constructed was on the map...

The road conditions were pathetic... Sorry there was no road at all.. Soon it was dark and for a Nyctophobic (Fear Of Dark) person like me ridding on such road was not less than hell... Soon we got a mechanic who I call a scientist as he was not ready to give up on fixing my bike's head light...

He took nearly 15-20 mins and the irritating slow...very very... v..e..r..y... slow South Indian music in background was just enough to allow me to kill him...
But he got it right and again we started to complete the remaining 100 odd kms...

As always JD was right ahead... I saw a Black Karizma pass-by and this guy was surely in hurry... But after sometime I felt someone following me on my rear view, I slowed down just to check and I met Mr. Nidhin Chandran. He was just a close friend we had never met...
While ridding I shared what we are really doing there and he was just thrilled to meet us... He decided to guide us to our spot..

                By the way about Nidhin...
A keralite by birth but as born in an army family because of Dad's transfers had visited half of India...
Bike enthusiastic and a fantastic photographer...
His father is retired and stays somewhere in a remote village in Kerela which is almost 800 kms from Kanyakumari...
This dude rides there once in a month on his Karizma...

                Alright moving on...
Soon we were at the gate of the SOUTHERN MOST TIP OF INDIA...
This feeling of me ridding a bike so far was just not ready to gulp down easily... A 3500 km old rider who had a crash on Day 1 and reaching here was just enough to make me emotional...

Soon we reached our Hotel and just threw our saddles and were off for some food... Nidhin decided to be our host for the night...
There is a small restaurant on the road towards Vivekanand Memorial...

Here you find a waiter from Africa and his way off talking to the customers was way too high for the standards of any 5 star hotel in South... We were just amazed..!!!

After having awesome food we decide to just stroll around the place...
The place from where we get the view on Vivekanand Memorial is closed at night for border security reasons... and allowing us to visit at around 1 AM was not happeing at all...

But Nidhin convinced the policeman and we got a look at the place... It was just beautifulll.... There more we travelled south the more we thought about what a shitty place Mumbai we live in as everything here was just beautifulll....

Nidhin showed us some of his photographic skills..

This pic was taken at around 1 AM...
Out of a complete darkness... Nidhin came up with this beautiful picture from his camera...

We decided to meet Nidhin early in the morning for the Sunrise...

We thought of reaching this place at again at around 5 AM when there would be no one around and get some enough pics for my camera to eat...!!!
