  • [Photo Feature]: Ladakh 2014 - 4Guys, 4 Bikes and unlimited adventure - A photo log

I don't know where to start, just returned from a lifetime trip of Ladakh 6-21 June 2014. Covered total 3150km and the places we covered - Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, TOS Pangong, Nubra Valley, Manali, Chandigarh and Delhi.

    Riders:
    Ashish (ZMR)
    Ashwini (FZ)
Anurag (CBZ Extreme, from Lucknow and joined us from Jammu)
    and
Suhaib (CBZ Classic, aka suhaib.faizy and I'm the one who is writing the travelogue)

Our original plan was to carry bike by train to jammu on 6ht night and begun our journey from Jammu from 7th but The adventure begun from very first day when the station guy at Sarai Rohilla Cargo has refused to parcel one of the bike as it was not registered on the name of passenger. They wested out 2-3 hours in the whole process we request a lot but they didn't agreed and we all were totally screwed up.
After all this melodrama We decided to start the journey from delhi by bikes and we were on road by 10:30. Started our journey from Liberty cinema petrol pump, filled up the fuel and had fastrax burger and coke as dinner and hit the road. Initially we planned to drive as much as possible and stay after completing 300km but by grace of god we ride till next 21hrs almost without rest and covered approx 720km in 21hrs until we reached Patnitop in the evening of 7th.

Note: I'm new in travelogue writing so please excuse me for mistakes.

    Our itinerary

                Day 0+1 06-07 June 2014 Delhi - Patnitop 21hrs drive and 720 km covered

                Day 0+1 06-07 June 2014 Delhi - Patnitop 21hrs drive and 720 km covered
Our original plan was to carry bike by train to jammu on 6ht night and begun our journey from Jammu from 7th.

After all this melodrama We decided to start the journey from delhi by bikes and we were on road by 10:30pm. We started our journey from Liberty cinema petrol pump, got the fuel for bikes and had fastrax burger and coke for us and finally hit the road. Soon we crossed the border and the traffic of Delhi and we all were enjoying the highways. Our machines started roaring on NH 1 and we were able to maintain the speed to 80kmph. we didn't push hard our machines as it was night and i guess 80 is a decent speed in night.

After covering about 150km took our first halt on a road side dhaba before Ambala. Much needed Tea break stayed for 10-15min. Tea was awesome here. After covering this we all had started gaining confidence that we can reach Jammu by morning but still it was long way to go. We all were on road again and our next target was Jalandhar. Before entering Ambala took left for Jalandhar and road condition was awesome here, less traffic. we started roaring again, in less than 2hrs we reached Ludhiana and stayed here for Tea. It started sunrise we covered 300+km in night. It was great feeling but still a long way to go. Talked to few cab drivers at dhaba and they were really surprised that we are coming from Delhi and almost non-stop.

We all were feeling refreshed and as it was first day of our ride so we all were full of energy. Our next target was to each Jalandhar as soon as possible to avoid the city traffic. Within an hour we reached Jalandhar and after Jalandhar road were awesome and we all were roaring at 100kmph easily. Took 1-2 small breaks and reached Pathankot by 9AM. it was great feeling of achievement. covered almost 500km and now Jammu was easily achievable. Took a long break here as we all were tired, had breakfast and some rest and hit the road again. It was day time and have to face lots of traffic on the way and it was really hot here. our speed was slow due to traffic but some how we managed to reached the Jammu station before the Anurag.

Our plan for the day was to reach Banihal as we had advance booking there. Hit the road again. Roads were in good condition but soon hill started and it was mixture of good and bad roads. Hills slow down our speed and Me, Ashish and Ashwini started feeling tired. There was huge traffic jam just before Patnitop. The time we reached Patnitop it was evening and started getting dark. we decided to stay here and soon found a hotel. Such a long day, by grace of god we covered almost 720km in 21hrs.

Couldn't take much photograph in this stretch, few are follows.
