Thiksey Monstery and Miss Melisa


After reaching Leh me and Akash, both decided to make next day as our rest day. And get our bike serviced, chain lubed, washing etc.

We got free by the lunch time. And went to some okayish restaurant for food. The restaurant was all empty, don’t know why.
We took one table ordered some food. And I was in no mood of eating anything, maybe a symptom of mountain sickness.

Soon came a French lady and sat two tables next to us. She was on phone with her fren.

She was beautiful and hot… !

Okay…(I understand your emotions)
Here it is:

She was curvy and tall, approx. of the same height as me. A little dusky, her features were sharp.
Well crafted nose, her lips were luscious and well carved out. And a chiseled chin below her luscious lips. French give so much attention to detailing!

She was wearing two size up frame sunglasses and they were a crime towards her beautiful eyes that were hiding behind them.

Dressed in a cargo trouser and a top that was resting one inch above her pants, her waistline was seducing me.
She had tied her pullover around her waistline, which was leaving no moment to pull her cargo a little down.
She stood from her chair and tried to pick something from across the table by bending over it, and my attention was taken over by her curvy bottoms.
Or maybe I over imagined.

That was enough to sweep me and Akash off our feet.

We wanted to talk to her, desperately… !
(Read-->make frens, go on a ride)
And then we were left salivating, as there is no DIY for it.

“aise mat dekh mere bhai”, Akash whispered.

We finished our lunch and Akash left to the hotel to lube his bike chain. I ordered for a mint tea, that could wake me up from my slumber and laziness
and kept sitting at the restaurant or maybe I wanted to enjoy every moment of the French beauty in Himalayas.

After 10 minutes Akash returned to the restaurant to give me the hotel room keys. And his surprise moment came.

The French Lady was sitting on my table and chit chatting comfortably with me. Akash’s eyes were widened. “Dude how did you do that…?”
Giving me the keys Akash tried to get in the conversation with her, and I reminded him, “tujhe bike ke liye air-filter lene nahin jaana”.

To which Akash replied, “ aur meri girfren bhi nahin hai”~
Translated as I don’t even have a girlfren.


But Akash was nice to leave me alone with Melissa, the French beauty.
Later Melissa told me that she doesn’t understand hindi and I got relaxed of my and Akash’s conversation.

We continued talking, French fashion, bikes and German cars and some other boring talks related to cheap leather market in Leh.
Women just love discounts, no matter from where they are.

Some how the discussion of Monasteries in Leh came, I told her that I haven’t seen any of the monasteries around.
She obliged me by companying me to Thiksey monstery that was some 25kms away from Leh.



AAaah…!
And I could see Ninja smiling and jumping out of joy on this idea.

I went to hotel room to pick my camera, bike keys and tell Akash that I am going to Thiksey Monastery with her.
Before I could say anything Akash uttered: “main raat ke liye room nahin dunga.. !!!”

And my surprise moment came, I was long wondering what Akash would have been fantasizing all this while.
I smiled and left on a long ride with Melissa to Thiksey Monastery.

French are very curtious people, she took me to the top. I wasn't sure what to admire first French beauty or Indian Heritage.

She wanted to explore south India, and I didn't want to miss an opportunity to honour her.
We kept sitting there for sometime, exchanged no.s and then parted because I had to move on, Khardungla was waiting to be conquered next morning.

Khardungla:

Ladakh teaches us many lessons in its own way,
a few make us better riders … and others are worldly.


We(me and Akash) were ready to ride to the worlds highest motorable road in the world as they call it... Khardung-la.
From there ahead we decided to explore Nubra valley.
We wanted to cross khardungla and reach Nubra in first half of the day itself, the reason was simple we wanted to avoid water crossings
and we knew that if we delay our ride then Sun will rise and with every passing hour snow will start melting thus increasing the force of water in crossings.

At 7 in the morning we were on the road.
(after snoozing the alarm a few more times then desired)

It was a clear sky.





Akash was riding faster and I was all involved in pictures, I didn’t realize when I was left long behind.
There was ice-ice everywhere.





Some 30 kms before khardungla my bike got stuck in snow, rear wheel was spinning and bike was sinking further down. I was getting enervated.
and was way too tired to pull it alone.
That was the time when I felt Akash’t need but he wasn’t anywhere around.

I left the bike on stand and went to bring some pebbles.
I thought maybe if I put these pebbles underneath my rear tyre that will avoid wheel spin, thus bike will come out.
But I was wrong. Pebbles gave-up to the spinning wheel.

I was damm tired, didn’t try any further.
Fell on snow and … … RelaxeD

It was a very nice feeling, though my gloves, socks and jeans were wet, but I was loving the feeling... Feeling of being on Top of the World
I was wearing my helmet and I could listen to my breath that was running a little louder, was left stuck there for some 1 and a half hour.

Then came a cabbie, with him came two of his passengers, seeing them coming I picked myself up from the ground
and with their help I took the bike out of the snow.
That was the point I felt I should have been with a group, doing it solo can turn risky at times.

I started riding ahead.
Customary shot. Khardungla.











Crossed Khardungla and saw a place where a few horses were gazing.
I was way too tired to ride ahead. Decided to take a nap.

you have heard of the saying .. "devil lies in details"


darkknight.. yes, i am planning a writeup where i will define how ninja performed there.
And yes, Ninja was the best companion there, (i don't say others might be bad)
But ninja was too good for mostly all the terrain.

At one peak, Chang-la. air was very less and most of the bikers had to remove air filters from their bikes to do the climb.
With Ninja i didn't face any such problem, it self adjusted itself to that low pressure atmosphere.

Heard a lot and lot about Ladakh by few xbhpian. I am sure, it's one the most thrilling, tough but yet full of adventure to ride upto there. Got a wide glimpse through your eyes bro. Loved the way your present and edit the pictures. Keep up Clicking.

The queen of the lakes: Pangong

Next day morning, me and Akash checked out from our hotel room at Leh and decided to spend one night at the lake pangong. So we began our ride, somewhere at 11am.
Fortunately me and Akash were riding together today morning, as I strongly requested him to be with me during the trip and not ride solo.

Moved a little ahead and I clicked Akash, floating in the air, in the pic below:
(yes he is feather-light)






























We reached Pangong by 5pm and relaxed ourself, took one tent and left all our stuff there and went out with camera gear to photograph the scenic beauty.










It was cold, freezing cold, and surreal to say the least.

I woke up in the night at around 10pm to photograph the stars.
