Thanks for the highly educative, informative and useful travelogue, rohan_kadbe. The Dhanushkodi off-roading was really thrilling and adventurous both for you and your Thunderbird. I am going to take my Thunderbird 500 too to Dhanushkodi in the near future!

That highway was the best highway I have ridden on, roads were properly marked silky smooth roads.
I was riding on full throttle for almost 20mins on the highway.(But later it turned Nightmare for me how? read below)
Reached Gingee city around 7am and was on searching for a place to eat crossed 2-3 places and then just beside the highway there were directions to the fort which is visible from the highways 20-30mths from the highway. I thought without any food it will be impossible to reach to the top so took a u turn and had Tea and idlis.

After having breakfast reached at the foot of the fort parked my bike purchased the ticket and started my journey to the top it was around 8am. Path to the top was made of steep stone stairs. It was becoming increasingly difficult to reach to the top with weights (luggage) on my shoulder. Then I had an idea of securely hiding my luggage somewhere in empty spaces between the big stones, did that(and off course took valuable things in my other small bag) and then with five/six breaks reached at the top.

Left Gingee around 9:30am and reached Thiruvannamalai around 11am.
I parked the bike and went inside but there security person told me you have to keep you luggage at the counter which on the other side. So I hopped on the bike and reached the other side kept my luggage and tried If they are allowing entry from this end but no luck, drove to the other side entered inside the temple. This temple was also less crowded; temple was beautiful it was all white from the outside like the Rameshwaram Temple. Roamed there for about an hr.
