Re: Glimpse of Kokan in monsoon!
Story continued:
I had a lazy Sunday morning, after having a breakfast, I looked outside and it was drizzling, I started reading the book again until I finished reading it.. so entire day I was reading, eating.. I wouldn't say it was a waste of the day...
A scenic creek view from porch.
Next day morning was pretty eventful, I started my day early around 6AM ish and went for a fishing (not by boat though), just to get the exact idea how these local fishermen do fishing when they are not allowed to go deep in sea from month of June to August, I started walking with with couple of local fishermen. I took few basic equipment's and tools for e.g fishing rod, hooks, nets and bucket full of small sizing fishes, walking on those tiny little hillocks parallel to Arabian sea... fishing was not new to me, though this kind of fishing was a biggest tasks as situation was little uncomfortable for newbie like me. fishing in stagnant water of creek/ lake is something different and fishing in sea in monsoon was different I would say it was scary and dangerous.
From a distance I could see local fishermen's spot for fishing and there were bunch of people already present with their fishing nets/ rods/ polypropylene ropes, as far as situation concerned it was not very pleasant heavy rain, extreme windy, it was a hell lot of task for me walking on such Slippery rock patches I followed fishermen with whom I came, I was following their every move honestly speaking I was bit scared as situation was bit uncomfortable.
I spent first 15 minutes observing fishermen and their every single movement, and after that I started throwing my polypropylene rope which was hooked to the rod, and I started waiting and initially I thought it was easy job as it looks but in reality it wasn't, soon my shoulder started aching holding that rod from one hand to another. started counting the time, Thumb rule was wait for 15 minutes or bit more and if you don't get your catch pullover the rope/ net and start from the scratch which I had to follow this process many times, finally the wait was over, almost after 2.5 hours I got my first catch of the day, as they said "Patience is virtue" and yeah I believed in that saying too.
almost 3 KG's of "Red Snapper" (In local language it called Taamoshi)

Re: Glimpse of Kokan in monsoon!
Continuing the story:
As soon as I caught that fish I felt like I was in heaven, yippee, I couldn't resist myself, different recipes/ preparation started spinning in my head. Felt like I am being a selfish and soon I brought myself into realization that I came with those fellow fishermen and because of them I could catch this lovely fish, my fishing game was over and I was awaiting for those fishermen and started gazing at sea and killing my time, after some moment one of the fisherman told me I could leave if I wanted to as they wouldn't be leaving until they finished catching decent amount of fish, of-course for me it was matter of fun or killing the time but for those poor fishermen it was a matter of their bread and butter.
I thanked everyone and bid a goodbye to them, and started walking towards to home happily, as soon as I reached home I had cleaned up the fish with the help of aunt, prepared the basic Kokani marination and kept it marinated in banana leaf for next one hour, quickly had bath and relaxed.
Ignited the "Chulha" and my hard earned fish was all set and ready to go in BBQ, I was eagerly waiting for the food... it did taste good.
A typical Kokani cuisine... simple yet yummy and healthy...

Re: Glimpse of Kokan in monsoon!
Continuing the story:
Rest of the day I spent walking/ and admiring the Mother Nature.
Next day after breakfast I spent my morning with some hiking around wilderness for nature trail, indulged in nature to refresh my mind, bit of site seeing around the village and then returned back to home, so well spent pleasant first half.
As I had to do so some walking around hence I deliberately kept my camera at home, just took one water bottle and I was all set for small hike.
Empty road...
Spent some quality time in rice paddies...
Lovely hut in rice paddy.
Abandoned house
I came home around 11 am ish, hence I had no other thing to do apart from to wait for my lunch.
I sat near this coconut tree and started killing my time again..
A view from home
I went in creek to see if I could find any shellfish and luckily I found one.
After having lunch, I decided to go for small ride around the village or near by Vijaydurga fort where I could find some scenic location to take some photos of my motorcycle and luckily it wasn't raining since morning so I was all set for some poser shots...
