As the title says a quick sprint,i didn't stay there for long though it was a long ride-426 kms.
I'm exploring different routes of Himachal.

Started off at 8:30 AM in the morning and my p220 was doing really well after i get it serviced a day before the trip.
The road conditions are good from palampur to Manali. Some patches are in bad condition, some are narrow, some has very tight turns and twisties. So all in all it was a good mixture of road conditions to enhance your riding skills.
Reached Joginder Nagar in a short time. The patch from Joginder nagar to Mandi was quite narrower and took a bit longer time.Tried my cornering skills at some of the corners Reached Pandoh Dam after that. The clear water and nature's view was really amazing there.Passed through Jwahar tunnel after that
Roads after that are in good shape and much wider and here starts some tight turns which continues till Kullu.
Went through the Kullu bypass and the next town was Manali.Rached Manali at 12:30 PM.Just roamed around in the city Went to Hadimba temple, monestry, museum and mall road (Have I missed anything else?) in 2 hours.Started riding back at 3 PM.

PS :- Not able to upload pictures due to damn slow internet -.-

After I started riding back to palampur,i had a minor fall while going over a bridge. The surface was made of wooden planks which were not levelled and as a result i fell off the bike.No injuries, bike is safe too.Just a bend gear pedal.Soon found a mechanic and corrected its position and voila! It was back in its original position

                re: My Touring Diary

It was a pain in the arse while coming back as it was going dark and riding in hills in the dark and on not so smooth terrain is some real task that too for some 150 kms continously.
But eventually I did it.Completed my journey safely
I believe that we learn something from each and every ride that we make. While writing this I had finished another ride of 250 kms.Sitting in Chandigarh and sipping a Hot mocha and honestly i do feel that my riding have evolved (even just for a margin but it does make a difference) after Manali ride when i did another ride of 250 kms to chandigarh.
                So keep riding.Keep posting.Keep Inspiring.
                Ride safe.Ride on.
                Chao !!

Though I need to take highway towards Patiala but a night before there was a little change in the plan. Some of my friends planned to ride till Chanshal Pass for 3 day tour.I decided to change my route from chandigarh and confirmed that I'll be riding with them till Dharampur,HP which is about 60 odd Kms from Chandigarh. So excited, I was not able to sleep till 2 AM.Hardly slept for 3 hours and woke up with alarm buzz at 3:30 AM and what i found that rain gods playing the spoilsport, it was raining and raining heavily.I observed for some 15-20 minutes and there was no sign of rain slowing down.A friend from Delhi was supposed to start off at 4 AM and got stuck in rain at Murthal.Meanwhile I started off from Palampur at 6:25 AM.The rain had stopped by then.I had covered hardly 30 kms and it started raining again.Had to take shelter at a Petrol Station. It was a 20 minutes halt at Petrol station.Continued my ride and reached Hamirpur. That friend was still stuck at Murthal in heavy rain.I was hoping he would still reach on time with all other riders at Himalayan Expressway, which we had decided to be our meet point. I reached Una around 10:00 AM and confirmed the status of friend who was stuck at Murthal. He decided to go back home.Plan cancelled and I continued my solo ride.

                              Hi folks,
First of all please pardon me for being this much late. It's been more than a month since I had done the trip.
                              So here you go.
It was just another working day and all this plan of celebrating my friend's birthday started on a random phone call I made to him.We planned this roadtrip around 7-10 days before the execution of our plan so we had quite fair bit of time in our hand to plan route and all. Though we paid minimal attention to check list for the trip but we were prepared enough to go on this.
                              The Route :-
Palampur - Chandigarh - Shimla - Rampur - Sangla - Chitkul - Reckong Peo - Kalpa and back.
So we were 3 guys with 2 bikes ( I had a Pillion with me ). We decided Chandigarh as our start point of the ride, as I live in Himachal and my friend lives in Delhi.
On 30th August I with my pillion started off at 10 AM reached Chandigarh at around 5 PM. Then straight went to a local mechanic's shop for lubing and other checks as the next day was going to be an uphill ride to High hills of Himalayas. We were also searching for some polybags so that they can be used as rain cover for my tank bag.

I bought a local made tank bag for 500 bucks from Delhi and It's been great till now. But to our bad luck it was sunday and most of the shops were closed down. Had dinner and crashed onto the bed at 11 PM. We had to leave next day by 4 AM. Woke up by alarm at 2:25 AM. Had brush and just a face wash, got ready and left by 3:45 AM from the room. Met my friend at a petrol bunk, quickly shake hands filled petrol and left at 4:05 AM.
