      Hyderabad - Bangalore - Mysore (Day 1)

We started around 5:00am from the meeting point (Tadbund) ... kept the pace and reached Bangalore by 1:00pm. It was pretty much a speed run & the bikes drank fuel like beer. :-P ..LOL

The Hyderabad- Bangalore stretch is long wide 4 lane roads , with strong wind blast all day. For smaller bikes , its extremely difficult & tiring to complete these 600 km.

On reaching Bangaluru , we met one of our very close Biker friend , Dempsy & had lunch together. It was a very delicious lunch.

After lunch , our friend Dempsy escorted us till Mysore highway.

Next was our time to ride the last 150 kms to Mysore. We were to stay in Mysore for the night and start for Ooty the next day.
Another very close friend(sister) arranged for our stay in Mysore. She happens to be a bikerni too.

It got dark by the time we entered Mysore city. Met our friend Supriya and she led us to the lodge. It was a pretty good & comfortable lodge.

All of us had a light moment , discussed about our ride , and then our friend left.

The room was clean & cozy. Had juice and went to bed.

          Mysore - Ooty (Day 2)

We started from the lodge at around 6:15 in the morning . The weather was gloomy and chilling.
Had to wait at the Shell petrol bunk to fill up.

          ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

Soon we filled up the tank and started for Ooty. But before we can take up some pace , we saw beautiful scenery on the outskirts of the Mysore city. We were mesmerized by the beauty of nature , covered with fog.

All through the way the route was scenic. We rode via Bandipur National Park ... sighted few kinds of birds , peacocks and spotted deer on the way.
Also we rode through 36 hairpin bends , amazing experience it was.

My carbureted Gladiator significantly lost power with the increasing altitude ... I was struggling to keep the bike running on steep incline climbs.

Almost stalled my bike on this hair pin bend ... it was that steep

We thoroughly enjoyed the corners ...though it was not very comfortable to do high speed corners as the road was narrow and traffic filled.

One of our friend's friend, Shawn suggested us to book a room in "Divine Highland" lodge. It was affordable (750 rs for 2 people) and was located on a cliff . The room was hanging on 2 poles and the whole cottage would swing if someone moves.

Would thank Shawn for the suggestion.

The climb was steep & challenging ... at the same time it was thoroughly enjoyable. The beauty of nature at its best.

Bikes returned excellent fuel efficiency all through.

The huge coconut which we both struggled to finish.

Ooty and around (Day - 2)

After reaching Ooty , we searched for "Divine Highland" but it was not on google maps. Asked few locals and we found it. With a little bargaining , we closed the deal for 750Rs and checked in the room. Room wasn't very clean but totally manageable . There were excellent delux rooms available at 1200Rs but that was out of our "agenda"

After freshening up , we left for Emrald Lake ... one magnificent lake it was. We were absolutely speechless seeing the beauty around. The water was crystal clear. It was the cleanest lake I had ever seen. The route to Emrald lake was nothing less than a race track .... We were cornering like crazy & I kept scrapping my foot pegs on almost every corner. All throughout the day , the weather was chilling.

The room we got was hanging on two poles. Had an amazing view & the whole cottage would tremble if one of us would move.

In the night it became freezing cold , we were shivering under the blanket.

                      Ooty - Mangalore - Udipi (Day 3)

We woke up early morning at around 5:40 am ... It was bitter cold even inside the wooden cottage ... I was shivering like anything even under the blanket. With some efforts got ready and started loading the saddle onto the bike. With an amazing view of the Sunrise , it was a wonderful morning also supposed to be a long day.

Clicked some pics before we started off for Mangalore. At all times , GPS helped us get the routes. Thanks to google maps in the smart phones

The fog-filled Nilgiris were mesmerizing ... from fog filled dense forests to tea gardens ... the most gorgeous & beautiful form of nature one can ever see or imagine was all around.

Initial kilometers were quite a struggle due to huge fogging ... visor & spectacles kept getting fogged & visibility was badly hampered.

We stopped by a tea garden to have chocolate tea , and got some tea packets for home
