There was this time when I was waiting for the launch of KTM duke 390 as I was a motocross fan and was excited about the launch of KTM bikes in our country. The year had passed and 390 was launched at an affordable price, I was happy about it. I liked KTM so much that my 27th birthday cake had KTM printed on it.
In Feb of 2014 for the valentines day we had planned to ride to Gokarna. We were two couples. So two bikes, My friend had a duke 200 and I had rented a red Karizma R. It was this trip where I totally dropped Duke 390 out of the equation after looking at the pillion discomfort on Duke 200. I was about to ride everywhere on my new bike with pillion and pillion comfort was important for those long rides to be authorised at first place. On the other hand we two were enjoying the ride on Karizma R, it was indeed one of the best tourers in India.
Fast forward, after a couple of months I had been to Goa, on a nice evening, me my friends Laxya and Sanju were having some whisky while we were in the pool. This topic struck that all three of us should upgrade our bikes, which bike? We all like the new thunderbird 350, and in that excitement we started talking about the kind of trips we would do on it. We will go entire south India "Dude, dude...We would be like wild hogs"(the Movie). Next day, when we woke up and sober, the idea of new TBTS350 was still on the back of our minds along with the hangover.
Couple of months later, we did book Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350. As of today, March 2015, I own a Matte black TBTS350. Laxya and Sanju owns Marine blue TBTS350. So much for the drunk talks, from dream to reality.
