Well, this is my very first triplog being written on xBhp. And truely it was my first long ride after a solo 200km ride around Kolkata.
It was February 4th 2015 Wednesday, yes you heard it correct, it was a busy weekday when we (me: Anup & my mate: Arnab) made this ride happen. We made this ride happen on the weekday as Arnab came from Pune for a week and I didn't want to stretch it to the uncertain weekends. Took a leave from office and made some quick route plan with one of my colleague who is also a rider, but currently stopped his motorcycle trips due to family restrictions.
The route planned was pretty simple until a right turn which needs to be made somewhere 10-15kms after crossing Kolaghat. And really it was very confusing to us. The whole trip was done on NH6 and NH60 in 11hrs. Now without any more writeups let me refresh the memories by posting the pictures.
Tthe ride - CBR 250R ABS
Well our planned time for the journey was 5.30am but eventually it got started at 7.25am due to late night sleep.
Tank was half full so didn't headed to any fuel station. Took the Belghoria exp way road after crossing Airport which is just 5kms away from my house.
The pillion - Arnab, The rider - Anup
Stopped after first 50kms. I think it was Arnab who was pushing me for a quick stop. You know for what a quick stop is required.

Restarted the engine after a 5mins break and headed towards Kolaghat. This was the time when I need to refuel the CBR as it was started blinking 10mins ago. Was finding a good BP petrol pump but couldn't locate one so far. Then we had to take an U turn to refuel it on the other side of the road and it was a decent petrol pump. Had some quick words with the petrol pump guys and also did a tyre pressure check. Eventually one guy came with sudden question 'Why you havn't gone for an Royal Enfield instead of Honda?'. I gently replied one may not choose the choice of your liking.
Beautiful NH6
I always prefer a bus / car journey instead of train. After getting a motorcycle this got even more better for me.
Beautiful freeway of NH6 with very less traffic, kept the ride constantly at around 80kmph. I don't like to push the ride hard as I love to maintain a steady speed.
Unexpected breakfast at Kolaghat.
Almost 9am and we stopped at Kolaghat for breakfast. I always love to have tandoori rotis as lunch / dinner but getting one at breakfast was a added bonus to me.
Ordered Tandoori roti - Aloo paratha - Mix veg - Chana masala. Lets not talk more on the good foods now. It was just a perfect breakfast.
Took some cake and biscuits from here as we knew that the places we are heading we won't find any decent food court or hotels.
Entering the spot at around 1.15pm.
I won't say much about the spot as you can easily get the details from google.
We had to bear some serious road conditions of NH60 after taking that confusing right turn from NH6. You can't push your ride more than 20kmph on some strecthes.
Some moments at the spot. i.e. Gongani - Yes there was canyons. But we found the spot to be very dirty and it was like a local people's park.
We had some fruits that we took from last village that we stopped. Had some cakes and biscuit and sat there for approx 30mins.
It's already noon and we started to feel the heat. Without much photography and all we started back for Kolkata at around 2pm.
On the way back from Gongani. All the red soils on tyres and shoes.
Need to took this picture as I didn't have any such pictures of mine with my ride.
We clicked some of the pictures here and there. And it took almost 10 - 15mins to finding the exit path from Gongani canyons.
Very much awaited the Salbani jungal
This was the road we waited for. Though we didn't stop while coming to the Gorbeta, we stopped and clicked a few shots while returning back.
NH60 is very unpredictable - sometime you can cruise at 80 - 100km for 5 - 6kms and suddenly bad road will start for next few kms.
Last pictures of the triplog at around 3pm
Took these shots after we landed on the smooth road of NH6. Just took 1 or 2 quick stops each for 5mins.
Reached Kolaghat at around 4.30 and had some food. We were looking for the resturant in which we had our morning breakfast but that was on the other side, so we couldn't. We had to go with some other resturant and this time we tried a plate of gravy noodles. From there on headed directly to Kolkata and reached home at around 6.30pm.
I didn't feel much pressure on my wrist and back, as I thought it was suppose to be. Just after an hour or so getting a drink and some snacks refreshed us like anything.
Had our drinks and we promised to make some bigger trips in near future.
