Anuj that is not a Jugaad. That is a genuine 100% original product of Royal Enfield manufactured and supplied in Gujarat. This is registered with the RTO office. It has a Diesel engine and is a common public transport there.

Yes ..absolutely correct ,these are mainly used to transport small goods almost in all parts of gujrat.

Yes, the mathematical equation was not on my side = 3150 kms in 96 hours i.e. 30+ kmph ride continuous for all these hours.

Besides to encounter the blistering heat of Rajasthan on the way to this ride and again on the way back !!!

On second thought, I planned to leave for this ride on 1st evening itself after the office hours. That way I would get additional 5 hours for this ride.

And that was the last minute adjustment in my ride plan.

I packed all the luggage on the bike on first morning while leaving home. Bid Good Bye to my family members.

So, after all, by the evening of 1st April, I was on the road to accomplish this enduring ride.

By mid night I was near Jaipur. The weather was cool and this made me ride on and on and on with small tea breaks.

By early morning I was nearing Udaipur. The sweltering heat of Rajasthan has been conquered without any problem by riding all night.

I made a call to one of my friends of my Ladakh Return forum whom I had to deliver the stickers. He was amazed to get the call so early as as per earlier plan I was expected to be in Udaipur by late afternoon. He met me on the highway (although the final leg of entering into Udaipur was riddled with some off roading due to lots of diversions which consumed quite a lot of extra time). After a brief stop over, I move on towards Ahmedabad, my second stop over to meet another member of my forum.

By mid afternoon I was entering Ahmedabad and met my friend opposite Akshar Dham Temple in Ahmedabad. Handed over the stickers and had a small stop over to have coffee with him. He tried to persuade me to have a halt at Ahmedabad but since I had to reach Rajkot by evening so as to avoid my next days long ride, I bid him good bye and moved further on towards Rajkot.

Now I had been riding almost for over 20 hours and a little bit of exhaustion was setting in. I reached Rajkot by 6.00 p.m. At a Tea Break I asked for a room for the night stay and they were helpful enough to guide me to a reasonable hotel where I logged by luggage and hit the bed for the night. BTW I had to answer a load of queries of the locals at the hotel who were amazed to see me riding all night and be in Rajkot covering over 1150 kms within 23 hours.

Day 2 i.e. 3.4.2015

I had paid the bill the night before at the counter so I loaded the luggage on the bike and bit the highway by early morning to be in Dwarka for a Darshan of Dwarkadish.

The roads in Gujarat are in very good condition and it took just over 2 hours to reach Dwarkadish temple. Parked the bike outside the compound of the Temple with the luggage and went inside the temple. Had a good Darshan of the All Mighty Vishnudeo and came out of the temple. On the way back, went to the beach near Dwarka where few other tourists were also enjoying the clear blue sky and the un spoilt sea bed as very few tourists know of this place.

Mission 1 accomplished. Thanks God.

I was again on the highway towards Bhuj. Still I have had to cover quite a distance approx. 400 kms. The weather in Gujarat being not so hot and humid, the ride was comfortable. As I had to cross various urban cities with heavy traffic on the road, it took quite a long to cover small distance. As the time was ticking by, the chances of getting permit to enter Dhordo became bleak as the permit is issued for one day. Moving towards Kalo Dungar in the late hours of the day was also not a good choice. I have had to make a decision and I decided to stay at Samakhiyali for the night.

The only disadvantage for a Solo Rider is that he cannot capture the magic moments of his ride as often as he likes to do and it gets even more critical when you are in the Great Rann of Kutch with no Tripod.

Day 3 - 4th April, 2015

As I had covered Bhuj, Narayan Sarovar and the White Rann of Kutchch in my earlier ride in 2012 as well, the owner of the hotel in Samakhiyali (where I had stayed in 2012 also) advised me to explore the lesser known roads to White Rann of Kutchch. It looked appealing and he suggested me to explore the village called Adhoi that was completely destroyed in the Earthquake in 2001 and that was still in ruins as the Maharashtra Government had developed New Adhoi village for the uprooted inhabitants who had survived that quake. From Adhoi he advised me to move to Kanchkot to see the artifacts of ancient civilization, then I was to move to Ravechi and Vrijvani temples the later being the location where 140 married women had jumped into the pyre to attain Sati. Thereafter afterriding for around 120 kms I would have been on the State Highway leading to Great White Rann of Kutchch near Dholavira.

I set out for my ride to explore the interior of Kutchch this time and the ride went on smoothly. This time however, I found the interior roads a little bit damaged and at places too bad unlike in my previous ride. But as usually, there was no one to guide me for miles and miles on these roads.

By afternoon after exploring through the interior roads of Kutchch, I was on the state highway to White Rann of Kutchch.

I didn't to far inside the ruined city as there were lots and lots of stray dogs and although I am not affraid of ghosts, but the dogs would certainly made my day as I was in my riding jacket and gloves and knee pads which give the impression more of an alien than a civilized person to these canines

Day 3 Continue

As a practice, mostly I have finished quite a few of my last rides (big or small) non-stop. And since I didn't want to ride through Rajasthan during the day time in blistering heat, this time too I chose to ride non-stop via Great Rann of Kutch, Morbi, Radhanpur, Abu Road, Beawar, Ajmer, Jaipur to Delhi. Since I had quite a lot of spare time due to riding constantly at night too, even after making a number stop overs on my return ride, I reached home by around 12 noon.
