        Guys chill!

        Sambit bhai, saddlesore to OD?
I'm happy with 850 kms in a day. 1600 is neither my cup of tea nor do I crave for it.

              -----------------------------------------------

People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why it is recommend daily.

So, gathering all the motivation needed for completing the journey on a high note and to cover the biggest leg of the return trip, our rider took his bath and got the much needed motivation. @Bibhu was there early morning with his ultra bright light fitted RX and wham bam bum badaam both of them hit the city outskirts. The tentative target for the day was Vijayawada, roughly 815 km from Cuttack. It was going to be a long day.

Cuttack to Bhubaneshwar took an hour despite leaving early morning courtesy trucks. The ride till Behrampur was plain and boring. Stops were merely 10-15 min long in order to reach Vijayawada in time. The rider's derriere had already lost all sensation. Being a lazy retard, he took a few pics on the way with his mobile, the camera stay packed in the bag securely.

The plan this time was to not bypass Vizag, rather go through it.
Reason 1: The bypass route sucks.
Reason 2: SFC. A cool restaurant in the heart of the city that serves good food and has safe parking.

Reaching Vizag was uneventful with mild showers in between. Hunger pangs were at their worst now.

The rider thought he should fill up before the weather worsens and so he pulled over to an HP outlet. Full tank and a 1000 rupee note was tendered. Sadly, the rider was made to wait for 20 min to arrange return change. There was hardly any business done at the pump that day. He had never seen such a cash stripped petrol pump in life so far!

Our retard took a good 45 min rest at SFC.

It soon started drizzling and our rider thought he better leave ASAP! Jumped on the bike and started towards exiting Vizag. Countless number of signals and morons throughout the city.
It would be a short 20-30 second hop from one signal to another for the next 10 min when the bike dies suddenly after overtaking an auto. Luckily the auto didn't rear end our rider and went its way after hurling a few abuses and getting thrice the amount in return.

What on earth had happened now? It had started raining and hence any troubleshooting was not possible immediately. After pushing the bike for about half a kilometer, he spotted a Hero service center. He had never been so happy seeing one before!

There were only 2 people in there, a security chap and a mechanic! Well, at least the rider was happy that he could get his bike tended to. 45 min sped past and everything seemed fine. At last the FI was dismantled and injectors inspected. The mechanic came back to the waiting lounge (our rider was NOT allowed in the service bay despite repeated requests) and reported that the injector holes are clogged and there is a mild build up of gooish material overall. He said it happens due to bad fuel.

Without wasting any time, the rider asked the mechanic to clean the injector. Another 30 min passed and the mech came back with a smile. The bike had started. But, all tis drama had cost the rider 90 precious minutes, which meant that Vijayawada was not possible. It would have to be Rajahmundry. The last day in fact would be the most hectic with 850 km to do.

                  Re: Home run!

Fools rush where angels fear to tread!

So our rider knew that rushing would not help, but he had to cover those 850 odd km on the 3rd day. 4th day was not even an option.
He got up at 3:30 AM and finished the usual early morning routine and was in the outskirts of Rajahmundry by 4 AM.

Roads were dark but not empty. Cars and trucks were a constant companion till Vijayawada. As usual he would take breaks every 50-55 min for 10 min, drink his ORS and proceed.
He had learnt in this trip that milestones were his best friends and in the absence of those, sitting on the roadside itself was fun!

Covering the first 200 km was not fun at all because of high beams on both lanes of the highway. It was almost 8 AM when Vijayawada was crossed. Passing through city with kids preparing for school added to his misery.

                  Outside Vijayawada.

Now, it was simply a race against time to keep up and reach Nellore because Nellore to Mulbagal is kinda ghat route and he didn't want to do it in the dark.

Cruising speed increased from 85 kmph to 95-97 kmph for the next 90 min meaning Ongole was reached at by 10:15 AM.

The weather had started getting gloomy. Not good signs, the rider thought. He had over 450 km to do and daylight was reducing already.

It was already looking like evening by 2 PM when he reached Nellore outskirts.

Soon heavy downpour started. The rider was soaked to the bones in no time. Rains only stopped for a while near Tirupati when he could finally update his family who were worried already on his whereabouts.

Then it was a fight all through the ghat region at night in rains. High beams, no dividers, heavy rain were testing his patience.

It was 8 PM and then a familiar sight arrived. Kolar Adigas. He was very happy and visited the eatery fully drenched for some much needed rest. People were in awe looking at him, giving him funny expressions.

Rains had stopped but lightning continued. He was extremely tired by now and covering the last 75 km was a task. Something that pumped up his adrenaline came after crossing Narasapura. There was a line of dead dogs on the highway which he failed to spot at night. Last year was disastrous w.r.t collision with a dog that kept him on the bed for 3 months with multiple fractures. Could it be repeated again?

Hell no. This time, instead of swerving away, he aimed straight for the dog at full clip and rode over it. A small bump and he was safe! Whoosh...

Bangalore outskirts was reached at 9:30. Familiar chaos but a feeling of joy and pride. Lightning continued.

Half an hour later, he reached home. The ODO was beaming and so was he.

First killing a dog and then riding over another one. *nightmare of the dogs* [emoji14]

                              Ride safe and have fun.
