I have been a silent follower of yours and Suvra's trips. Earlier I liked your Meghamalai ride and I had put Meghamalai in my TO-DO list and now you have given one more addition to my list. I guess I need to stop reading your travelogues since its increasing at a rapid pace and should start riding Keep riding bro and keep exploring so that even I can do the same

Day 2: Riding to top and back to Bangalore.

The alarm was set and we slept with hope of waking around 4:00 a.m in the morning and the plan was to witness the sunrise from the top. But that didn’t happened. What happened was, I woke up at 4:00a.m but i was still on bed ,when I turned, I saw dada was also awake and he was sitting. I was like grrrrrrrrrrrrrr he is awake and he is gonna ask us to get ready but lol instead of awaking us he himself went back to sleep. We all woke up around 6:00 a.m saying each other, oo shit we missed the sunrise. But its never too late. We had our morning tea and headed around 6:30a.m towards Kolukkumalai to witness the graceful beauty of nature. From Suryanelli the Kolukkumalai tea factory is around 8-9odd kms. Trust me this 16km(up n down included) was the most toughest road i have ever been. The off road experience turned out to be the most adventurous experience of my life till today. And covering this area on a fared bike like R15 was icing on the cake. Stopping at corners witnessing the breathtaking views and again moving forward with a determination to conquer the top was a feeling out of this world. We all three of us came back around after 4 hours, although there is a way to go ahead but that would have cost us the whole day so we decided to move down after the top factory point.

Around 11:00 a.m in the morning after having good breakfast we started the journey back to Bangalore. As soon as we left Suryanelli I noticed that something is wrong with the ODO meter of my bike. While adjusting the tank bag my left hand hit the ODO wire and the connection got disconnected resulting to some serious tension during the ride. As the connection was loose now, the yellow light started blinking and i was afraid of facing fuse off problem. The fuse blew off thrice but somehow we managed to reach Theni till my last fuse blew off. It was Sunday and no service centre was open. We went to a mechanic and I had a tough time explaining the exact problem because he rarely understood hindi and i didn’t knew ABCD of tamil. Although jeevan bhai tried to explain the situation but I am sure he hardly understood the exact problem. We knew the fuse will blew off again so we decided to direct the current flow. I was sure the yellow light is gonna blink again but at the same time i knew i would not damage anything further to the bike. The watch was now showing 4:30p.m and we were really running late. After fixing the bike, soon we crossed Dindigul but things got little more complicated now. The war among the clouds started with a non stop rain of 2.5 hours. Dada went little ahead and me and jeevan bhai took shelter under a small shop. First fuse and now rain, I was like what the hell is wrong today. But i would like to thank both of my riding partners for their cool attitude while i was facing problem with the bike. Around 6:30p.m i and jeevan bhai resumed the ride, dada was waiting around 100kms ahead of us. When we reached the meeting point , dada was already full drenched. We were about to reach Salem now but unfortunately rain was still playing hide and seek. We asked few people in Bangalore and also weather forecast was showing heavy rain near Bangalore. It is tough to ride in rain specially during night. So keeping the safety in mind we decided to spend the night at Salem and head towards Bangalore at early morning. We booked a decent room at Salem. Till 10:30p.m we were done with the dinner and all three of us went off for early sleep. Next morning also turned out to be very interesting for me. I have never rode from Salem to Bangalore during early morning. It was a refreshing feeling riding back to Bangalore with a bunch of experiences and memories. I never expected my life to turn something this much wonderful. Finally around 7:30a.m i was back to my home.

Here are the pics from day 2. Also i have tried to make a video of this ride.
