A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

Always be ready (get geared) to fall and then think of sitting on the motorcycle.

I am surprised to see no stop in Karnataka at all!!

On NH17, you can do a stop over at Gokarna, Murudeshwar, Maravanthe, Udupi and then Managalore.

Don't forget to see Bekal fort in Kasargod area.

BTW, wayanad is a district! in that dist. you gotta see in Monsoon or post monsoon, not sure how it would be during summer!! prepare to sweat
Wayanad - you can see few waterfalls, banasurasagar dam, but there is a beautiful point called lekkidi (sp?) viewpoint, which is on the NH to calicut, the view and roads are amazing.

From Calpetta/Sulthan Batheri (wayanad) you can goto Gudalur and then to Ooty but then you would be coming back in the same route!!!

Going from Ooty to Coimbatore and then to palakkad makes more sense!

i would say on your way from goa to mangalore, you extend your riding time a bit..make it relaxed..coz as you enter karnataka,be prepared to ride more cautiously..try to avoid night riding....Maravanthe Beach will be a nice halt with cool(not literally) clean beach(though food is expensive)..otherwise Udupi is a town where you can stop, decent food and i may also be able to meet you guys there....the udupi-mangalore(65kms) stretch can be covered quite quickly in daylight(around 90mins)
You can take the ride away from me but you cannot take the rider out of my soul.........

            RazorBlades,

Sounds more like a splash-and-dash record setting road race. Dude R E L A X. Take it slow and enjoy the sights, or yeah the sea-hills-the scenery will make you stay.

@MG : Yep its a wrong time of the year! lets see how the plan shapes up..
from chennai, if we have enough time we will ride back to mumbai else GATI

so far me, shiva and calvin.

after monsoons should be the best bet.. but shiva strives for this ride right after he finishes his college

@inder : nope anup will be having more responsibilities soon.. so didnt sign-up for the ride!

@razor: IMO you seriously need to reconsider either your timing or location....coz its absolutely the wrong time to be in that location.

The heat+humidity will kill the fun out of the ride!!!
