Ahh my bad, missed meeting a fellow xBhpian.
By the way while going office, I always jump that signal to take left. Rather I dont like that signal. It should be retuned and major changes should be made to that signal, specially to take left and right turn from the main road towards Ejipura and oppsite lane and free way left turn at the signal. Have even posted on BTP FB page, but they dont give a damn.

Yeah true. Previously there was right turn facility from the main road towards Ejipura. Then they removed it. But still people wait there to take turns. I dont know why the hell they removed it.Originally posted by saquib3005 View PostAhh my bad, missed meeting a fellow xBhpian.

Re: Chasing The Destiny | True Wanderers 4.0
SECOND GEAR: JUNGLE BOOK
It was already 3:30 am in the morning, and after gaining the consciousness I found myself cozy under a warm blanket surrounded my camera, laptop, cellphone and wires all around. But there was sense of happiness and craziness of “what next”. I remember last night while parking the bike I said Senorita “be ready for early morning adventure”. In usual tone she smirked and went for sleep.
But as said “Old habits die hard”, I thought of taking a small nap again and woke up an hour late from the time I decided to start the day. Looking out of window I was left with amazement and gaze. Whole of the village is surround with hills from 2 sides and can see, sunrise happening soon.
I kept gazing at the beauty of the place as never in my dreams I expected such will be the place where I came last night. Opened window just to get the fresh air. We don’t get such freshness in cities not in even the city of gardens.
Freshness of air made me get ready soon and in next 15 mins I was standing at the home stay gates to see the wonders of this small village Suryanalli. In night I was just seeing the old jungle roads and trees through my headlight, but now I can see vast green tea gardens with hill locked huts and cottages.
I had already decided I would be visiting Kolukkumalai – World’s Highest Grown Orthodox Tea.
Started riding through small village road in between the tea gardens. Apart from greenery only topography was changing and I found myself soon struggling through the pebbles and stones which were meant to be actually route to Kolukkumalai. Red senorita was sparkling in these green hill slopes yet she was annoyed with these stone and pebbles. Actually there is no road or proper route to Kolukkumalai. Existing route is used by Tea plantation guys to transport any type of inventory and now place is getting commercialized so some jeeps ply up through this, taking rare tourists who visit this place.
I was literally hoping from one stone on another climbing up the hill slopes. Danger on this route is if either you fall and break your head or you break the bike. Neverthless, what is the adventure without taking the risk and winning over it.
I was taking small breaks at unequal intervals, don’t wanted to push hard on Senorita, even she is not made for it though I have made her accustomed in these years.
“Go Green” naah I am not getting any green Kawa, atleast not in near future. But this tea estate has influenced me in every possible manner. Green estate and a cottage to enjoy a mug of tea - awesomeness.
Senorita: Oo hello stop dreaming and you better throttle calmly.
Me: oops my bad. Cmon baby little bit more, we are almost there.
I kept riding through this route and finally we reached to the landmark with a board stating:- World’s Highest Grown Orthodox Tea.
Kolukkumalai is a small village/hamlet in Bodinayakanur Taluk in the Theni District of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is home to the highest tea plantations in the world with the tea grown here possessing a special flavor and freshness because of the high altitude.
View-Point1 with a church and tap with fresh running water. View was not clear ofcourse the clouds and sunrays were playing hide and seek.
These hill ranges actually play a wall between Kerala and Tamil Nadu where on one side is Suryanalli and other parts of tea estates, and other side is Kolukkumalai and Kotagiri valley.
It was not hot, and since it was almost 7:30 in the morning, even sun was not in its full gloom. But the treacherous route through stones and mud made me sweat like anything.
After few snaps I was on bike ready to ride further.
Senorita: “What why are you going that side, take some more rest and we will go back down.”
Me:” This isn’t it, we have to go further, let’s go and see the factory and view from that side”
Senorita: “Hugh, you will go and have tea, what will I do”
Me: “Don’t worry route will proper, you won’t have to grumble over that”.
After seeing the sign, suggesting tea factory only 2 kms ahead, started riding at a faster rate.
On side were the hills and other side vast green tea estates.
Soon we were at tea factory and Mr Mani helped me in knowing more about the place and also offered me to have the authentic Kolukkulmalai Tea. Though I am not so found of tea(I hate drinking tea), still this tea was refreshing.
Kotagiri valley was awesome, I though tried looking for Nilgiri Thar(wild goat famous in this place), but didn’t spotted anything. Coolness of the place made me dry and I was….
I was not alone, humming bird was all along with me singing all the time I was up. I don’t know how, but did felt the strings attached, and by the time I started returning back she was all along with me singing somewhere sitting in those bushes.
Soon clouds started playing their game and there was regular hide and seek going on in the mountains and I headed downwards.
After the early morning adventure I didn’t headed back to home stay, rather continued going into all directions in Suryanelli. This village has tea estates at every hook and corner and all the sides give a completely different look from others.
Reached my room and packed for the next destination of my day. As soon as I started riding towards Anayirankal reservoir placed in lower jungle from Suryanelli, it started riding. The rains were so bad it made to stop for a while. Luckily I got a hotel and was equally craving for good food.
This hotel, Hotel Kalpana Family had a very good seat, placed just in front of window from where I can see half of the village along with jungles hills and rains all around. Hotel guys Mr Shyam and Mr Jake were very kind enough and even asked me to park the bike under shade after seeing good amount of luggage strapped on bike. Had a proper lunch with rice and grated coconut along with egg curry and authentic Kerala vegetables.
Soon after rains decreased I started heading towards the woods.
Finally I went to the woods in the jungle and near the lake. Route to this lake is very calm and beautiful, and after rains it was just fresh greenery everywhere surrounded by hills and reservoir water at the centre.
I took mud route to enter one of the roof tops of the meadows beside the lake. I already decided to pitch in the tent and complete the blog also waiting till it gets dark or anyone come from the jungle (offcourse the elephants).
It was pretty cool out there with no one around only the wilderness. In few minutes pitched in the tent when suddenly a local from the jungle Mr. Pinto silently came in.
Ya ya I was bit shocked for a moment but the oopsie moment ended with pretty healthy exchange of laughter session. He helped me in pitching in the tent very fast.
So here it is and I am enjoying this wilderness observing the 2 fisherman netting the fishes rowing all alone in the serene silent lake. Though I have read about this place which is infested with wild Elephants, I was just trying to ignore to think over it and not even expecting any one to see.
Since it was cloudy day, One side hills where already covered with clouds and even Jungle was covered with mist and fog. There was certain gunman who was firing from the hill tops, wonder what may be hunting or just routine firing.
I was already in my tent and though after rains it was not much damp as I was on one of the meadows with thick jungle just 50 meters behind me. I had an early supper and soon I was busy working on the blog.
And the wild Thing – Running for life.
Soon It was dark and I was back from trekking from the woods. I arranged all the things and had an early supper. I was in my tent and was planning to process the videos as I had enough battery left for my notebook. But I was conscious and concerned enough of any activity happening outside my tent.
Itv was around 2030hrs and again the subconscious mind was just playing games.
I was enjoying the moments and the silence of the jungle was humming in my ears.
Got busy in clicking pics of my tent and was peeping through the clouds to have a look to clear night sky.
“Trumps and Grumble” – what was that. I was bit shaken and was uneasy but tried consoling myself and ignored it for a while. Though I got disturbed and was completely concentrated and expecting those voice soon.
Couple of minutes past by, there were more similar sounds for quite some time and can easily understand something coming from the woods and is nearby in vicinity.
Holy Moly there are Elephants. Offcourse this place have Elephants and they come out in dark to roam around and drink water. Even when I was pitching in tent I saw many elephant dung all around and was pretty sure to expect them.
I was completely aghast and didn’t wanted to take any chances with these wild elephants, else TW apart even I won’t be left to tell my own story verbally. The lovely dark night was turning out to be horrific and I was away from population atleast 12 kms and from elephants couple of meters away.
I just tried to keep my calm and better thought moving away from the place, leaving these wonderful animals to be happy in their world.
In panic and worried mode I packed up everything under the light of my tent bulbs and tried my best just to get out safely.
I didn’t wanted to take any chances with these Elephants specially when these are wild Elephants.
Senorita: Bhaag yaar bhaag.
Me: ya wait let me check if I haven’t missed anything.
Senorita: Will you just hurry up else we both will have a dooms day right here.
Me: just shut up, if you can’t lend hands, atleast don’t make me panic more.
I hurried up and was fastest ever to strap my saddle bag and tank bag on the bike, before I found way out o this jungle. I had to be cautious enough that I don’t get stuck in the mud or slip anywhere.
I ran for my life as the trumpets and grumbling kept on increasing, and it worsened enough when I cranked up the engine and as if who whole family started grumbling.
It took me 20 kms and worst run through the woods to realize I am safely out and I was left laughing lying on the middle of road just imagining what has happened.
Thankful to God, I was also smirking on myself thinking how I just went to epitome of adventure which ended up with so many wildernesses.
This Jungle Book story helped me in analyzing and also inculcated me to keep continuing the adventure for the rest of the trip.
I continued for next around 30kms in night just taking night stay on the outskirts of Munnar.
PS: no I don’t had plans of Munnar coming up, its just the best place where I can get good shelter at around 2200hrs in night.
Photo Syndrome
Early Morning Blues
Hills are Calling
She is ready to roll – guarding my lens
Those wonderful woods, quite an insight to see
Fog along the teas estates
Woods welcoming me with hands wide open
Entering the tough trails to the Highest Tea Estate
Those trails as if knitted on the hills
Launchy taking its aim somewhere in the hills
Trail is getting tougher yet more beautiful
Time for me to take a view; not a leap
View of the Valley from the Top
Taking the feel of valley.
Random water stream
Official presence - hehe
Not pretty sure which side is Kotagiri Valley
One of the finest Authentic Tea I had it here
Decades old Tea Factory nestled in the tea estate
Those enchanting hills
Clouds following us
Feeling like sailing in those clouds
Moment of amazement
Panoramic view while descending
Kids wanted to have a company while descending on foothills
True Wanderer is ready to go anywhere anytime
Bidding Adieu to these hills

Wonders from Launchy

Eagle's Eye View
Fishermen in search of some good fishes
Jeep is the option to come to this part of jungle
Panoramic view of Anayirankal Dam
And this is how I pitched in Tent while Mr Pinto comes and frightens me

And one of the meadows become by halt for the day
Perfect Home for me which I can think of
And hereby I declare by territory (just kidding)

Slowly Slowly its getting dark
Busy working on blog after good food
Peeping out of my tent
Isnt it looks great from the woods
While returning back from trekking
And how it looked in night

And I pen down my poem
Yet completing one more landmark

So was I left Alone!! Naah
And here is the chase

So picture says it all

Re: Chasing The Destiny | True Wanderers 4.0
THIRD GEAR: FROM THE HILLS TO THE SEA
After an eventful night I was excited for the journey ahead.
Being in the “God’s own Country” I so wanted to explore more places and this time something other than the jungles and hills.
I didn’t plan up with a concrete plan of list of places which I will visit date wise. Had a rough idea where to go and which places to be covered where I have not visited ever.
Woke up early morning, just to get bad news that I have not got the permit for Manjolai and upper reaches of the place.
To visit these places one needs permit beforehand, and it came as a setback for a while. But the first 2 days extravaganza did let the excitement die and I already thought where to wander today.
Moreover I was in a network zone after 2 days and I wanted to update the blog and pictures, and thus took my sweet time to wrap up all the work and a good breakfast before hitting the Munnar Kochi Highway.
Munnar-Kochi Highway is freshly laid 2 lane tarmac, where One can easily get the feel of Isle of Man TT.
Contrary to the image of Kerala road traffic, traffic was quite light and I was easily sailing through the roads nestled in between the tea gardens.
Smooth roads and view of the valley made me lost to concentrate on the road and most of the time I was viewing the scenic beauty of the places. And as said I was sailing as if I am on Isle of Man TT track and was kinda fast on the road maintaining a good speed.
To all the fellow readers The Isle of Man TT (Tourist Trophy) Race is run in a time- trial format on public roads legally closed for racing by the Road Racing Act 1982 (Isle of Man) a provisions of an Act of Tynwald (the parliament of the Isle of Man). Since 1911 the Isle of Man TT Races have been held on the 37.73 miles (60.72 km) Snaefell Mountain Course which consists of a number of public roads in the Isle of Man closed for racing.
And excuse me I wasn’t racing rather I was just maintaining a good speed and it was giving me a feel of TT due to the countryside view and quality of road with road marking.
In this is sane rush I observed some foreigners in minimalistic safety gears and rented 2 wheelers were going ahead of me. In usual manner I overtook them until the third vehicle where I have to tail them for quite some time due to oncoming traffic. One lady pillion observed that I am tailing them and she was quite excited to see someone completely geared up, with lot of luggage and sports bike tailing them. I overtook them and went ahead to take some snaps.
Later we all stopped at a tea shop for refreshments and greeted each other to know our well being and what are we upto. She introduced herself as Ms Letty from Italy and they all are backpack travellers and visiting Munnar, Idduki and surrounding areas. She and her friends were quite excited to know about my journey and also insisted to see the photographs of my journey.
Moving on I went ahead after bidding adieu and happy journey to them. It was getting quite hot all thanks to humid climate of Kerala.
Passing by road with lot of hoardings, I came across a direction board pointing “Attukad Waterfalls”. And it didn’t take me time to get off from the usual road and I was heading to Attukad Waterfalls.
Though was disappointed with the amount of water, I spent some time there, thinking about which route to take to today’s adventure.
Back to track, I started heading towards Kochi, but mind it I had no plans of going to Kochi.
Riding from the hills towards the sea, saw lot of changes in topography and even weather conditions. Passed by multiple towns and villages and the most common thing was the authentic dressing style of Mallu men – their lungi. People do their daily work in Lungi and they find it very comfortable to even go out for socializing in lungi.
By noon I was already getting fried up in the hot conditions and under my DSG Nero jacket conditions were worse. I was sweating and decided to stop to have coconut water.
While having coconut water, I could easily hear sounds of rushing water from the Jungle beside. Enquired and the hawker confirmed there is a beautiful Valara Waterfall ahead.
I went ahead to see the Valara Waterfall. In that scorching heat I didn’t spent much time there as I was not allowed to go near the waterfall and since this was beside the highway, lot of crowd was there to take a view of the waterfall.
Gradually moving ahead towards backwaters, I stopped by at one more waterfalls named as Cheyappara Waterfalls enroute just to take some snaps and cool down a bit.
And yes you read it correctly “backwaters”; destination of the day was backwaters and I planned to go towards Kumarakom and places around.
While having lunch I was going through the map, and I saw a place named from where the actual backwaters starts and can be seen. Plan changed and randomly I thought to go towards Vaikom and then ride along the backwaters to go to Kumarakom.
Just before reaching Vaikom I got the first view of backwaters and was very excited to stop and take some photographs.
Backwaters were always on my to-do list and I enjoyed looking at these wonders of the nature. Moving ahead I reached at the tip of the town which is actually Jetty station.
In this part of the world there are buses, but instead of wheels, they sail on water. Vaikom has the maximum width of backwaters and could see other end of the shore to be very far. Parked my bike at beside the water I spent some time looking at the birds and cooling down after a tiring journey in the sun.
From Vaikom I moved ahead towards Kumarakom, parallel along the backwaters. Several villages past by and I could see small stream of backwater on the other side of the road also filled with small boats to transport goods and people from one side to another.
As soon as I was nearing Kumarakom I could also large bodies of water on both sides. Kumarakom is famous for surrounded by lakes from both the sides.
Passed by multiple bridges on these water bodies I also started getting view of numerous houseboats on these backwaters.
But nature had its own plans and all of a sudden strong winds and dark clouds covered up the whole sky. Instead of stopping I continued roaming around the place and could see wonderful houses in between the water bodies.
Wonder how do people live in there and how amusing it would be to travel in boat everytime to reach the land.
I have always seen houses surrounded by trees and garden with flowers and saplings, but here it was garden of water with some weed and lotus too or paddy fields.
Before Kumarakom town I entered one of the villages beside the backwater and went until a route ends. It started raining very badly and I stopped at one of the boat station which can be also considered as bus station. People were standing, awaiting for their routine boat to come and to my amazement travelling through these boats were much cheaper than the local transport available in cities.
As the rains lowered down I continued wandering through these small villages and later touched the highway and was lucky enough to see again one of the wonders of nature.
Not only one but 2-2 rainbows at a time. Rejuvenated with the moment I went to bird sanctuary of Kumarakom and it was already evening. It was time to look around each and every corner not for birds but where I can settle down for evening. But I didn’t wanted a night stay, so spent time sitting beside the shore and clicking some pics.
By now it was dark and I didn’t wanted to stop by. Being lost in the wonders of backwaters, I decided lets not stop here and head towards Allapuzha backwaters.
I speeded down the dark wet roads towards Allapuzha and stopped at the boat station in Allapuzha.
Boat station in Allapuzha has Ramdan hotel one side and backwaters on other side with a series of big and wonderful house boats. And to my good luck, the place was not even crowded and other than me there was no other tourist in that place at that time.
Mr Kannan, one of the boat house owners approached me and asked me if I wanted to have a house boat or not. I said “ Why not, I would love to”. I responded without even giving a second thought, though I didn’t thought of staying in house boat.
Wooah this was getting exciting as he made me visit his boat after calmly listening me about my ride and the journey on which I am, and he insisted to add this experience also in my adventure diary. He also reminded me that he will take me for a night ride(offcourse on boat) and will also give an early morning boat ride along with authentic dinner and breakfast.
What else I want!! Unloaded the luggage, went into my room. Room was beautifully maintained with a cozy bed and pillows. Even though it was around 2100hrs in night, my journey has not ended for the day rather an added adventure was awaiting.
Quickly I took a bath and sat along with Mr Laiju, who was the captain for my boat ride.
Boat ride started along the long dark coast of Allapuzha backwaters, going deep near paddy fields and the small villages inhabited deep in the waters.
I ended my day with a delicious dinner and an hour long boat ride sailing through cool breeze and silent waters and was docked far somewhere near paddy fields on the backwaters.

FOUTH GEAR: INTO THE WATERMe: hey wassup, are you annoyed??
Senorita: (interrupting) and what about today, you were just going mad, becoming a deewana.
Senorita: and that is why I am talking to you now. This is an awesome place.
I know I took a very big chance of putting the bike on small boat and the rowing it till here half way alone, but its always good to take a safe risk, afterall its all about adventure and I want to go all the possible parts with or along my bike on this trip.
I had power knap, processed my photos and then started packing up as it was already late afternoon. In the meantime Mr Daivichan also came and he helped me in rowing fast. It was an awesome journey to go somewhere far and spend time.
Now was the time to explore other parts of rice bowl of Kerala. I remembered what Laiju said and which places to be visited in Kuttanad area.
I started riding through villages interlocked with backwaters and endless rice fields. At one of the moment I also took one of the jetty to cross over just a mare of 50 meters.
Some roads to no roads, across the backwaters through the paddy fields I visited places like Veliyanad, Kannady, Kavalam and Kainady. People were astonished and even bit hesitant why am I taking the bike inside through these fields, but late they laughed and giggled.
Kavalam and Kainady were 2 very beautiful places where houses were nestled deep into paddy fields surrounded by Coconut and Banana trees. There is no permanent good quality tarmac in between these villages and I love crossing the paddy fields on my bike.
Senorita: where are we heading there is only rice fields all around.Photo Mania
Me: until the route ends.
Senorita: mehh, this route ends infront of that house. A mallu man will come out and will chop your head like coconut
One of the best Sunrise in this trip
Fishermen already busy in business
Some more joining them
And I was in a quest to have best Silhouette
Early morning start with a strong coffee
So we are Ready & Geared for a Boat Ride
Some other houseboats in close viscinity
Old one piled up
Villagers busy in their daily work
A Restaurant, a Traveller boat and house boat in one frame
Moving on
A Village of House Boats
Some royal House Boats
And a busy one taking its own passengers

I enter Kuttanad

Approaching a wonderful place
Finally at this Famous Church
This Church won my heart and I went gaga over it
Mr Devichan and Senorita both on small boat
Boat being hangered by Mr Devichan

And some pose while sailing along with Senorita
This is how I put the Bike on Boat and set afloat deep into Backwaters
What a place where I Spent whole day with bike afloat
Launchy scanning the Whole Area
My Dwelling just in between Rice fields and Backwaters
Compact yet wonderful
And the Beauty resting in her new Garage it Seems

Happy go Lucky
Lets Ride......errrr Lets Sail
And the exploration of Rice fields starts
It became routine to pass through these fields
And the Only route which I preferred in this whole section
What do you think, stuck in between the Rice Fields!! Naah

Somewhere Lost around...it is good to get lost

Sailing through these waters
