  • Weekend ride to Bhimashankar on my fz16

6th June 2015 was super bored sitting in room alone watching TV whole day. Started calling friends for a Sunday bike ride to some nearby place outside Pune. Lot of my friends were not in pune they had gone to their home town and some were to lazy for the ride. Finally called up Vishwajeet and he agreed to go then we started to think about the places were we can make a one day trip. I have already been to almost all the places near pune. So after looking at options we came down with two places Raigad fort or Bhimashankar as it was rainy season we did not want to take rise of trekking so cancelled Raigad. Also i had not been to Bhimashankar before and even vishwajeet liked the idea of visiting Bolenath in Bhimashankar. So we finalized that we would start at 9:30 am in morning.

Next day I left from my room in Kharadi to pick Vishwajeet in kothrud. Reached his room at 9:25 am to see that he was still in bed. Annoying things about this guy are he is very lazy and super late latif in life and the other thing is he wants to have 20 cups of tea in one day. Coming back i started to curse him about being ready to go but he being himself took his own time to get ready i was frustrated with this delay. 10:15 we start to head towards Bhimashankar. To avoid traffic in pune we took the Kirkee camp route.

One more tragedy struck before we could reach pimpri we had a flat tyre. We got it fixed after wasting 30 mins and 400 Rs. Checked the time almost 11:00 moved quickly and took the flyover for Nasik and passed bhosari. Then our chai specialist started to cry for snacks break so had to halt. Even there this guy took his own time as if he was to go no where. We moved ahead crossed chakan and the took left on Rajgurunagar and the roads got narrow. After some time guess what he wanted one more break for chai so we halted i was getting frustrated with his chai breaks. Had some pics with the newly bought selfie stick it was awesome. We moved ahead and it started to rain weather was awesome and the fog covered mountains were looking beautiful. I had given my cell phone to vishwajeet to keep it in bag safely as it was raining. But Mr. lazy kept it in his jacket pocket which i never knew. We were moving at 70 kmph now roads where smooth and no traffic was there i heard a sound of something falling off after we went for 500 meters vishwajeet realized that my cell phone which he had kept in jacket pocket was dropped.Stopped and turned the bike around got the phone luckly it was working but it suffered from sever scars on body. I was so mad at him thought of leaving him there but i cooled my head and we moved. Reached Bhimashankar at 2:30 pm the weather was awesome. We then parked our bike and went to the temple there was a long Que. The Bhimashankar temple is a delight to watch it is made out off a huge rock and the carvings and art work on the temple is superb. I will say that it is a must visit site for travelers. Had our Darshan and we came out it was 4:50pm i was very hungry so we had some misal pav and went to the parking and took off it was 5:15 pm . while returning we decided to take a separate route this road was more beautiful and wide than the one we had come from. There was lot of fog on the road so was driving slow till we reached the Pune nasik highway. Then I started to cruise on 90 Kmph. We made it to chakan by 7:15 pm chai wala wanted a break so halted. he had his chai and we moved. Reached kothrud by 7:55 pm dropped vishwajeet off and moved towards home and reached home at 8:30 pm.

Although the beginning of our trip was frustrating for me the scenic beauty, awesome weather and the peaceful and equally wonderful temple made my day.

Every one has a lazy friend. They take their own time to move their a@#. It will be quiet irritating but dropping phone something he should be serious about.

      Anyway nice ride and pics.

The Wind screen is from FAZER it will coat 300 Rs and you will need a iron plate with holes on both side is is called " belli patti" costs 30 Rs.

And you can put it on the number plate holder.

In Vishwajeet's defense, it was the journey not the destination that was important.

aaaaahhh Misal Pav, missing those Pune days! nice travelogue, what are friends there for, if they don't irritate us ! sorry about the phone and delays, but sure he is lucky to have a friend like you who still accepts him for what he is

20 chais in a single day, should have carried a flask or sipper :P

Live like you mean it, then get a bike!
