Not sure what was the problem, few of my posts were missing. hence posting again.

            Continuing Day 1

Left Thirthahalli after a yummy Breakfast. Road conditions were awesome throughout except 5 Km stretch close to Nagara. I was all excited to get my bike dirty and into the slush.
Ill let the pics do the talking

            Thirthahalli again

People who dont like CBR 250R I'm sorry!!!

            Nagara Fort

We searched for a stay in Sampekatte but found it to be a little expensive. People around informed that there are lot of economic stay's near the Koda gate. Meanwhile a guy requested us to drop him near Koda gate and we agreed as it was hardly 10 km from where we picked him. For our luck he was a jeep driver in Kodachadri who was returning home from Nagara. He informed us that he will arrange a good stay for us and not to worry.
Initially he tried to get us a room in the Guest house on the top of the Hill but for our bad luck it was full and over crowded already. At this time he just told that there was no one at his place and that we could stay at his place and he himself would cook for us. He also offered to show us the homestay that was right in front of his house whose keys he had. We had a tough decision to make as we were hungry and it was already 12:30 pm. So we decided to stay at this guys place and start riding to the hill top after lunch.
            The "home"stay

            Our parking

HE became a good friend during our stay

            View from our stay

Weather here changed every 5 minutes along with crazy rains

1 leech bit me even before we started climbing. Even a small itch on my body felt like a leech bite or a leech crawling. Its a crazy feeling checking yourself for leech bites at every stop

            And the fun part begins

One CBr was left behind and only 2 bike made it to the top.

These are the off-road stretches where i was able to park my bike. If you know how weird the CBR's stand is. There were some even worst slush parts where i couldn't park or even stop and get pics. It was tough to get back the traction on the tough stretches if stopped for any reasons. It was fun with the Michelin Street radials that is awesome in wet conditions but pretty bad in the slush.

            Traffic

            In the clouds

The last set of pics remaining.

Re: Monsoon Mania 2015 - WG (KA)

It was around 4 pm when we decided to start our ride down the hill which was the easiest and the trickiest part. Riding up the hill is just selecting the right track and having enough power throughout, whereas descending on that slush requires much more than that. For our bad luck it was raining when we were riding down. You always gotta be in the right gear and in the best possible side of the road along with some luck(since my bike was running on the Pilot street radials which had no traction while riding down the hill and was sliding around all the time.) The adrenaline rush and the amazing experience that this stretch provides to bikers is just amazing. Luckily I did not take a fall anywhere and saved my beautiful bike from any parts replacement or repairs.
A word of caution : If you are going to Kodachadri on a weekend, please be aware that the Jeep traffic will be high and there will be very frequent vehicle passing on that slushy/rocky road. There are 'n' no of stretches in that hill road where you cant stop a vehicle be it bike or a 4*4 jeep as its hard to get back the traction, mostly the road after or before a hairpin curve. At these places please honk and let the on coming vehicle know you are there. if you receive a continuous honking just step aside and let the Jeep pass. the Jeep drivers here are very helpful and friendly. They usually let bikers pass ( in my case) with enough room if they are in a condition to stop and let us go by.

              Day :2
It was a rainy and foggy morning, trekkers were already on their way to the Koda top along with the Jeeps zooming on that slush highway. We had a great task to get the bikes washed or at least the chains. Came to know there was a washing center in Nagara which was about 17 Km away. Without any options we had to ride till there. For our bad luck due to the heavy rains there was an issue with the power lines and there was no power in entire Nagara town. That was a road block in terms of getting the chain cleaned. It was already late so just decided to use the chain lube in excess amount and hoping not to damage the chain we moved on.
at this time I called up my friend Karthik holla who stays close to BC road and asked him if he was free, he replied saying he will meet us close to uppinangadi. The return route was supposed to be Nagara-Sringeri-Uppinangadi-Shiradi-Blr.

This is how the bike looked after the slush affair.

We took a shortcut showed by a truck driver which saves 14 km and avoids the Thirthahalli town if you're travelling from Nagara to Sringeri.

This stretch was a single lane road. It was raining moderately and i was enjoying the ride and my music when i noticed a long stick which was lying on the entire width of the road. As i went closer, I noticed one side of it was at around 2 feet height from ground. Then I realized it was a freaking King Cobra on the road with its hood up. Damn!!! that was a sight and it was a very exciting moment, as i closed in it sensed the vibration and moved away.

              Somewhere in Kudremukha range

              PC: my friend Praveen Kumar

I was supposed to exit Kudremukha and then head straight and then reach Uppinangadi, but i took a wrong turn towards Dharmasthala (Charmadi) and unfortunately couldnt meet Karthik.
I was back in one of my favorite places again- Charmadi.

Since Shiradi Ghat was under construction fore few months, the traffic here had increased a lot.

This trip was surely a ride to cherish for a long time. Beautiful 2 lanes throughout and considerably empty roads which enhanced the riding pleasure. With great company I enjoyed the ride thoroughly. The off-road part is the highlight and was the agenda of this trip in reality which was an amazing experience. I felt a little bad for my CBR though for that much of thrashing around. After coming back got the CBR properly checked for damages and got it serviced as it was time for an engine oil change.
Luckily there was absolutely no damages on both bikes or the bikers.

              Thanks for reading.
              Ride safe!
