This ride was planned 2 days before I left Bangalore. I still was in my previous ride's mood which was to Kodachadri. When I decided to go on a trip, the first place that came to my mind was Koda(Kodachadri). There was another ride to the same place happening in the same weekend. Immediately pinged a friend and asked if i could join in and if stay for me along with them in the PWD guest house on top of the hills can be arranged. The answer was yes! I was super excited as i had heard that sunrise on Koda top is amazing which turned out to be true later on.
Day : 1
It was a group of 20+ bikers which i was joining till Koda. As planned we left Bangalore by around 6 AM. Took some really long breaks and managed to reach the Koda forest check-post by 530 pm. We some how got the green signal to climb though we were a little late. The route till Sampekatte from Shimoga Via Hosanagara is filled with some awesome corners. I had some good fun on those fast curves. I could'nt take any pics on day 1.
I always wanted do some off-roading in the dark. Never ever had i imagined that I will be riding in this route in the dark. It was truly a good feeling and to add to the joy we had thick fog around 8 pm for a few Kilometers. I also dropped my bike once as i slowed down in the wrong place. Luckily just few scratches on the silencer shield and nothing elsewhere. I too escaped with no damage .
Day : 2
All of us woke up by 5 and all were ready to leave for the trek by 530 am. I was told it was a short trek?!!!. This ride was the first outing of my new Nikon 5200. As I was so excited about the camera I decided to try to trek as much as i could. After some while of trekking the whole trekking path's view opened up and i was like " is that the peak where we are going to ?' and the person who was a lil ahead of me told me "yeah a little ahead of that spot". With some breath taking scenery I somehow was moving at a snail's pace which in itself is a great thing. This wasn't my first trek but I was climbing a hill on foot after a very long time. In the past I've been to Mullianagiri, Sharavanabelagula, Talakaveri and some similar hills on foot but this was quite different and steep. On the way to the place called Sarvagnapetha all of us were blessed with an amazing sunrise. Some might think 'yeah sunrise, i witnessed it on my house terrace yesterday'. But this was a special one.
Below pics might prove it right ,,,,
Hhhhuhhhh!!!! finally the "REAL" destination was in sight. Wattta relief....
Sarvagnapeetha
Perfect machine for the venue!!!
That's my CBR
We came down to the guest house by around 1030 AM and breakfast was waiting for us. I left the guest house by 12 pm as decided earlier and started my journey towards Agumbe.
A small Dam near Sampekatte 10 Km from Koda Check post.
My destination for the end of the day was Mangalore where I would meet my friend Karthik_holla and stay at his place. I decided to go to Mangalore Via Agumbe and Udupi.
En route
The Agumbe Ghat
And the View
It was too damn hot in Udupi and what better way to cool off than an Ice cream. First thing i did after reaching udupi was to head to Hotel Diana for some yummy Ice cream.
Will continue the rest of the story in a short while.
